Prius (2004-09) :: P0A08 Error Code - Losing Steering And Brakes While Driving?
Previous thread (with new subject title) on my 06 Prius losing steering and brakes while driving with multiple errors (red triangle, battery, etc.) while braking on steep down hill section of hwy 17 (mountain road). Took car to dealer but dealer could not find the root cause.
View 4 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Indicator Lights Intermittent - Code P0a08 And P0a09
..few days later having some problems: red triangle, vsc, car with exclamation point. Took the car to toyota and scan came back with codes p0a08 and p0a09. Toyota diagnoses as needing a new inverter converter. However, the indicator lights are very intermittent and the car shows no real symptoms. I should mention the HV battery and 12v battery are brand new. Does this seem right needing a new inverter converter? Could it be something more simple like wiring/harness to converter?
View 1 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Stumbling And Hesitating A Bit Between 25 - 35 MPH / P0307 Error Code
My 2007 Ford F150 Lariat (5.4L) with 82k miles popped a P0307 (#7 misfire) code one chilly morning. It began stumbing and hesitating a bit between 25-35mph, and each time it occurred, the engine light would flash on and off. Hesitation clears and light goes steady. Cleared the code and didn't see problems again for a month...until the next cold day (freezing temps). Popped again and hesitation returned. Ford dealer wants to change plugs. I've read coils can also cause the issue. Not sure if I can do either myself.
View 4 RepliesTouareg :: 2004 Misfires - Rough Idle And Hesitating / Shaking Under Acceleration
It's a 2004 V8 Touareg with 100k miles.
Getting horrible misfires and they're jumping around to different cylinders + other intermittent codes. The symptoms are ROUGH idle, and hesitating/shaking under acceleration.
The MIL has never come on in this car. But, it illuminates when you turn the key forward. (Almost like previous owner coded the light out?)
Replaced all 8 spark plugs, just ordered 8 new ignition coils. Hoping the misfires are the coil packs but obviously theres some other stuff going on here.
Pulled codes 2 weeks ago:
1) random/multiple misfire (P0300)
2) misfire cylinder 4 (P0304)
3) misfire cylinder 8 (P0308 )
4) warm up catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 2 (P0431)
5) secondary air injection system insufficient flow bank 1 (P0491)
6) secondary air injection system insufficient flow bank 2 (P0492)
7) 02 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 2 Sensor 1 (P0153)
Pulled codes 1 week ago:
1) random/multiple misfire (P0300)
2) misfire cylinder 2 (P0302)
3) misfire cylinder 3 (P0303)
4) 02 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 2 Sensor 1 (P0153)
Pulled codes tonight:
1) random/multiple misfire (P0300)
2) misfire cylinder 2 (P0302)
3) misfire cylinder 3 (P0303)
4) misfire cylinder 4 (P0304)
Cleared codes. Swapped ignition coils from 2 & 3 with 7 & 8. Drove around the block, then re-ran them:
1) random/multiple misfire (P0300)
2) misfire cylinder 4 (P0304)
3) misfire cylinder 5 (P0305)
4) misfire cylinder 6 (P0206)
5) misfire cylinder 7 (P0307)
6) misfire cylinder 8 (P0308 )
Prius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Oil In Throttle Body Area
Just purchased one of the members 2006 Prius. It wasn't in good condition and I knew that upfront. The price I paid justified the imperfections on the car. The car has 117k miles and it does burn oil. To the tune of 1 qt every 3000 miles according to the seller. However I believe it burns more than that amount now. I changed the oil and the dipstick reading was slightly below the minimum mark. The engine doesn't sound all that great but seems to run very well.
I was cleaning the throttle body today and noticed there is oil in that area. I looked down the throttle plate (not sure what that's called), and there was a layer of oil on the bottom. I know oil is not suppose to be in that area. What could this be?
The car had a leaking ice water pump and the coolant was a bit low, not sure if it could have overheated before.
Prius (2004-09) :: 2006, CEL And Error Code P0505 Came On
I was driving home the other day and my CEL came on... I checked the gas cap and waited a few days to see if it cleared. When it didn't clear I had the codes read and it came back with 3 instances of P0505.
View 2 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Getting Error Code P0AAC?
Installed Rebuilt Hybrid Battery AND New 12v Yesterday. Worked great until just now. Got the cool Red Triangle and VSC... hooked up to that Cool code machine and got the P0AAC (Hybrid Battery Pack Air Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit).
What is this exactly and what should I do? If it's a simple fix, I'm sure I can do it with my dad ... after all, I did take and reinstall the battery myself. Also, is it going to hurt my car if I drive on it with this issue?
Car is 06 and has 211K miles.
Prius (2004-09) :: 2006 - P1121 Error Code Pulled Over
I have a 2006 prius whose check engine light just came on 1 hour ago. I had it diagnosed and it is giving me the p1121 code, or the coolant flow control valve. I checked the coolant level and it was very low. I added fluid, but the CEL is still on. I have to make an 11 hour trip tomorrow.
View 19 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Got Error Codes P3102 - 581 / C2301 - 40 And 50?
I got the transmission p lock mechanism error. following the advice of the multiple threads, I removed and replaced the old battery after testing it. I drove about 40 miles and the triangle came back with the vsc and yellow exclamation highlighted too. The cruise control quit working but I was able to get it to the dealership and get a reading. There were two codes: p3102-581 and c2301 -40 and 50. the dealer wants to keep it all day to "dig into it". This is on a 2006 prius.
View 19 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Got Error Codes P0A80 / P3019 / P3000?
Yesterday I got the "red triangle" and check engine light along with these 3 codes:
P0A80 - replace hybrid battery pack
P3019 - battery block 9 becomes weak
P3000 - battery control system
In April of this year I have the entire battery replaced, in September I got the triangle again and one cell was replaced under warranty. My warranty is good through April 2016, however I'm afraid that this new code P3000 is going to be something not included in my warranty.
What could potentially be wrong? This is a 2006 Prius with approximately 208,000 miles. I'm not sure this is worth it anymore especially if I have to keep putting in more money.
Prius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Resetting Error Codes And Turning Off Red Triangle Of Death
I'm rebuilding the traction battery on my 2006 Gen II Prius. When completed, I'd like to erase any "error codes" that should be erased (I don't even know where these might be), and turn off the red triangle of death, the VSC light, the (!) idiot light, the engine check light and the maintenance required light.
View 6 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: Hybrid System Light Came On - Code P0A08 And P3108?
I have a 2006 prius with 129,000 miles,,i was driving to work in the moring and the hybrid system light came on. So after work went to a friends house to check the code and it has 2 codes.... First one is p0a08 and the second code p3108. Before this happened 2 months ago it had the same problem, a/c stop blowing cold . Park my car for a 3 hours. And every thing was back to normal...but this time light is on and no a/c.......
View 9 RepliesElantra HD (2006-10) :: Shift Points Seem To Be Changing On Light Throttle Acceleration
Noticed this in the last couple of weeks. On light throttle acceleration the 1-2 shift seems perfectly normal, but 2-3 occurs rather sooner than previously, and 3-4 seems to go through neutral (tach climbs maybe 250-500 rpm for maybe a second or so) rather than a solid shift. Getting on the freeway (WOT), seems normal, and other than light throttle if there's a problem with shift points, I don't notice it.
Maybe an issue with relearn/reprogram? Car is low mileage, adult driven, 16,721 miles of easy highway and local driving.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: High Idle - Hesitating / Bogging Over Half Throttle
I just bought a 2002 Accent L 5sp with 37,000 miles. It ran great for a couple hours, then started hesitating/bogging over half throttle. I also noticed the idle was a bit high at this time. Suspecting a dirty throttle position sensor, I repeatedly pressed the accelerator pedal to the floor for 15 seconds with the engine off.(this will sometimes clean gunk off the contacts inside the tps) I drove the car again, and now the symptoms changed. Now it has a hesitation under half throttle, and accelerates cleanly above that. Car has not and is not misfiring. I am on the right track with the tps sensor here?
View 8 RepliesLexus GS 2006-11 :: GS300 Shaking On Acceleration With Light Throttle From A Complete Stop
My 2006 lexus gs 300 has this annoying issue where if i would accelerate with light throttle from a complete stop, the car would kick and sort of shake.. This happens the most and basically every time when i would slow down at a stop sign with using the brakes, then let go of the brakes and accelerate again, the car would feel like it has some sort of throttle delay and then you feel a heavy push/kick like the wheels are confused..
View 14 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: Red Master Warning And Yellow Braking System Lights - Code P0A08
My 2006 prius has the Master warning light(red) and the braking system light (Yellow) on while I am driving, and I went to the dealer.
The technician told me that he could not verify any warning lights ON at that moment, and he performed health and diagnostic checks on it. He inspected connection at auxiliary battery and junction box 1. All checked OK at this time. No repairs recommended at this time.
However, the master warning light came on when I pick up the vehicle. The dealer told me that they will inspect it again tomorrow. And they found that there a P0A08 error code. They suggested me to replace the hybrid converter/inverter.. My car can still drive while the lights ON.
Prius (2010-12) :: Vibration At Mid-Throttle When In Slight Acceleration
My 2010 Prius with 140000km has developed a vibration noticeable anywhere from 50-80 km/hr when in slight acceleration (just over 1/2 on the green bars) with the ICE running. Dropping the throttle or hard acceleration makes it disappear completely - which tells me it's driveline related. It feels like its coming from the passenger side, particularly rear, but it's definitely getting worse and I can now feel it in the driver's door panel so it's becoming a major concern.
My first thought (due to the location) was a bad muffler but it's not any louder. I'm starting to worry it may be a transaxle bearing. I can't see it being a cv joint as there's no noises when cornering and everything underneath looked OK at a recent oil change. I love this car (what Prius owner doesn't?) and I sure can't afford to replace it. It's been babied since day one.
Prius (Gen 3) :: Slow Acceleration - No Error Code Found
My prius 2010 (III) accelerate much slower than before. I started noticing this after I picking up my car from the airport. Parked the car there for a week. I have the dealer checked the computer but no error codes found. My car has almost 250k KM on it. I have not replaced the spark plugs the last three years. Could it be the spark plugs?
View 5 RepliesToyota - Corolla :: 2004 - When Shifting Into 2nd And 3rd Gears Over-Throttle During Acceleration
Every so often, my manual transmission Corolla will "overthrottle" during acceleration, especially shifting into 2nd and 3rd gears (and sometimes even 4th), i.e., the engine will race above the usual RPMs associated with each gear, just for a bit. This however, isn't consistent. I still need to check if the engine air filter is dirty, which I suspect could be a part of the issue.
The vehicle has ca. 124,975mi, and only started exhibiting this problem 2-3 months ago, and only in 2nd gear. Again, this issue is very intermittent, and sometimes I can go a week or two without any incidents at all. The regular maintenance (oil changes, cooling system maintenance, etc.) has been faithfully performed according the manufacturer's specifications.
