Phaeton :: Driver Side Headlight Flickers Brighter Every 6 Seconds
I noticed on the drive in today that with my headlights on -- every six seconds the drivers side headlight would flicker / flash brighter (not go dark) for a split moment -- very consistent time would elapse between each flicker. I identified it was the drivers side when I was at a stoplight behind another vehicle. (reflection) Upon arriving to the office I noticed the drivers side low beam headlight was blue and the passenger side was regular color. (matching the fog light)
I assume the drivers side is a Xenon and the passenger side was replaced with a non-Xenon bulb? Also, on a drive during lunch I noticed a warning light flicker under my low wiper fluid warning light -- over a half hour period it only flashed twice, yet the second time I noticed it looked like a light bulb. Is this attempting to warn me about my headlights?

This has been really getting at me for a while, I have one headlight that is brighter than the other, a tail light that is brighter then the other, and both fog lights are out. It's been like that since I bought the truck a few months back, I checked the fuse for the fogs and I changed all the lights.

I have a 2002 1.8t. The headlights have been going off and on intermittently for a little while now. I thought I fixed the drivers side but I guess I did not. It seemed there was a problem with the headlight socket so I took it apart and put electrical tape around the worn areas and put it back. It held up ok for a little while but would continue to go out. If I wiggle it comes back on. Then the passenger side started doing the same thing. I am wondering if a new wiring harness will fix the problem or could the problem be beyond that.

Ok, so I pull into the garage tonite and it looks like the headlight is out (Passenger Xenon), I check. Yup. So, I turn the lights off and on and she comes back. Now, I have heard there is problems with the ignitor/etc with these lights. I am at 34,000 miles on the car. Is this covered under warranty or should I just make do with it. I suspect this has happened before as I had my coworker tell me my light was out before.

A question - in my new 05, I have noticed this week an occasional light warning that would come on. It only happens every now and then. Noticed yesterday AM that its the drivers headlight.
Again, I think I saw something on a previous post about a service notice on this?? Starting to make my list for my first warranty trip to sort out a few miss the previous owner did not handle.
Phaeton :: One Headlight Has Gone Purple?
My passenger headlight (low beam) has gone pale purple, definitely abnormal. It has been about 3 days now. I am assuming it is dying on me.

I recently bought an 2005, 3ltr diesel Phaeton (though packed with options) in Germany. I drove it home and was, and am, in awe of the motoring experience.
As a fan of cars I am lucky to own a Opel Speedster (VX 220 in the UK) and a Buick Riviera Boattail from 1972. But the Phaeton beats all of them together!
But......my newly acquired Phaeton failed the technical control over here in Belgium due to the headlight washers (squishers?) not working (coming out of the bumper). Not even with the manual override through the control screen.
Dealer have checked every fuse, replaced on of the batteries which was not functioning properly (and was causing numerous 'power' errors). The car has been with them for two weeks now and I am getting desperate to drive my car.
Phaeton :: Headlight Washers Are Not Working
Wondering if my 2004 3.2 V6 FWD should have them and they are just off or not working or if they may not be fitted to my specific model. Can see no signs of them working when i use the windscreen wash/wipe. no water on the front of the car or wet patches on lights, etc.

So about 3 days ago the right side headlight just went out with no warning, both bulbs were replaced 3 months ago. What's even stranger is about 2 months ago the left side went out for 4 or 5 days then just came back on and has been working fine.

On my 2007 SC 430 I have a passenger headlight that appears to have a mind of its own. It works intermittently. I know that it is programmed to go off when the car is in park, but that is not what I'm talking about. When I start the car after dark both sides will be on but at some point the passenger side will go out, not all the time, but quite often. I have checked for loos wires but have not found any.

My 2005 has an intermittent headlight problem. The drivers side headlight goes out intermittently when it rains.. That is, it does not blink on and off just that sometimes it goes off and sometimes it doesn't. As I live in Phoenix Arizona this does not happen often but it has been happening for a year or so. 2004 W12 Phaeton ... I remove the Air Filter cover and filter, I am not sure if the round fixture on the Air Filter housing is the headlight fixture or how to remove and replace it. I am able to move it inward and outward, but not able to remove. should I remove the Air Filter housing to get to the bulb??

Fixing a jammed headlight washer cover? I know the washer itself works because I see washer fluid on the ground and I can hear the motor whirling. Also when I access the maintenance item on the infotainment center, the left washer cover pops out, but not the right one.

Around 100k miles, my 2004 prius started failing to light the right headlight. It only happened every now and then, perhaps 5-10% of the time. It seems to fail more often in cold weather. I can always get it to light by turning headlights off and on a 2-4 times.
That seemed to work, but I still get intermittent failures where the right HID doesn't start sometimes. The left always works reliably.
Obviously replacing the ballast should solve this, but that is expensive and I wonder if perhaps there is some connection that has developed a high resistance that could be solved by reseating.
