Phaeton :: Check Headlight Warning Signal On Dash
I just received a check headlight signal on the dash. I did a visual check and it was the passenger high discharge lamp. I thought i saw a post on here one time at how to trouble shoot this or even change the lamp.

I noticed on the drive in today that with my headlights on -- every six seconds the drivers side headlight would flicker / flash brighter (not go dark) for a split moment -- very consistent time would elapse between each flicker. I identified it was the drivers side when I was at a stoplight behind another vehicle. (reflection) Upon arriving to the office I noticed the drivers side low beam headlight was blue and the passenger side was regular color. (matching the fog light)
I assume the drivers side is a Xenon and the passenger side was replaced with a non-Xenon bulb? Also, on a drive during lunch I noticed a warning light flicker under my low wiper fluid warning light -- over a half hour period it only flashed twice, yet the second time I noticed it looked like a light bulb. Is this attempting to warn me about my headlights?
Phaeton :: Headlight Cutting Out On And Off?
A question - in my new 05, I have noticed this week an occasional light warning that would come on. It only happens every now and then. Noticed yesterday AM that its the drivers headlight.
Again, I think I saw something on a previous post about a service notice on this?? Starting to make my list for my first warranty trip to sort out a few miss the previous owner did not handle.
Phaeton :: One Headlight Has Gone Purple?
My passenger headlight (low beam) has gone pale purple, definitely abnormal. It has been about 3 days now. I am assuming it is dying on me.

I recently bought an 2005, 3ltr diesel Phaeton (though packed with options) in Germany. I drove it home and was, and am, in awe of the motoring experience.
As a fan of cars I am lucky to own a Opel Speedster (VX 220 in the UK) and a Buick Riviera Boattail from 1972. But the Phaeton beats all of them together!
But......my newly acquired Phaeton failed the technical control over here in Belgium due to the headlight washers (squishers?) not working (coming out of the bumper). Not even with the manual override through the control screen.
Dealer have checked every fuse, replaced on of the batteries which was not functioning properly (and was causing numerous 'power' errors). The car has been with them for two weeks now and I am getting desperate to drive my car.
Phaeton :: Headlight Washers Are Not Working
Wondering if my 2004 3.2 V6 FWD should have them and they are just off or not working or if they may not be fitted to my specific model. Can see no signs of them working when i use the windscreen wash/wipe. no water on the front of the car or wet patches on lights, etc.

I have a little problem with my bi xenon's. When my headlights are on and i accelerate they some times flicker on and off for a split second , or then go off completely and come back on or they become brighter than usual for a brief moment.
I was going to look at it my self and check for loose connections but am a little busy for removing the headlights and checking the ballasts at the moment, it has been on my "to do list " for several weeks and i am no closer. As you can imagine it is very annoying and potentially very dangerous if a motorist waiting to pull out from a junction takes my flickering light to be and invitation to pull out.

After small collision with dear my right front headlight was replaced, but it is misalignment. I read few post about adjusting, with VCDS and mechanical. My main problem is that I unable to turn adjusting screws, I can turn it 90 deg right or left I feel that the only mechanism deforms, but no lens move at all. Is it something blocking? 2004 W12 Phaeton ... I remove the Air Filter cover and filter, I am not sure if the round fixture on the Air Filter housing is the headlight fixture or how to remove and replace it. Where to find the headlight washer pump fuse. My owners manual does not list it for some strange reason.
The washer heads both extend OK using the service button, but when I pull the washer stalk only one (RHS) pops out and no fluid comes out, so I am guessing the washer pump has stopped working.

I keep getting a warning that my right front headlight is out when it is working just fine. I will turn the car off and when I turn it on again the warning is gone. It's weird that it will show up then disappear for a week and then pop up again. If the light was going out I'd understand but the light has been fine the whole time.
