Phaeton :: 2006 - Sloshing Noise Coming From Rear Passenger Door
Car is 2006 SWB 3.0 Tdi.
I've recently noticed a sloshing noise coming from the rear passenger door - I would estimate between 1 and 2 litres in there! I can't find any other post with these faults, so I've a couple of questions.
Firstly, I'm guessing the ingress is from the seals at the bottom of the window. I can't find a procedure to replace them...
Secondly, how to get the water out... It seems the water will be trapped in there - there's no natural way for the water to escape. If so, I'm tempted to drill a hole to let it escape.
Where would be best to drill the hole? Where water ingress is likely to accumulate?
Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Sloshing Sound Behind Dashboard?
It's a 2012 Elantra that I got in June of last year. So warranty or anything isn't an issue.
This morning upon making sharper turns, I hear a sloshing sound of sorts coming from the passenger side of the dash. I've read that this might be a condenser issue, or something with the drainage and the AC. I'm not really sure. Before I take it over to Hyundai, I want to give it the chance to dry out or whatever if it is just some rain.
It's not leaking in the car or anything, I can just hear it.
Golf V R32 :: Sloshing Sound With A Full Tank Of Gas
Actually, anything more than a half tank of gas will produce a sloshing sound. it's most notice able at low speeds, i.e. going over a speed bump. Also, when in D at idle speed, then hit the breaks, I hear a thud then all the sloshing of the gas. The dealer just told me this is normal. I didn't hear it before the gas tank recall.
View 14 RepliesGolf VI R :: Sloshing Sound In Rear At Low Speeds
Last night on the way home from running some errands I noticed some sloshing sounds coming from the rear of the car at low speeds. I thought maybe I had some container back there (spare oil, distilled water, etc) that just happened to be making the noise. I noticed it again this morning and it seems to me like the only thing it could be is the gas tank. I don't seem to hear it at anything but low speeds and even then it is not constant. Is this normal? I just filled up the tank for the first time two days ago and I currently have probably 3/4 to 7/8 of a tank at the moment. Is this normal? I'm not used to hearing sloshing in the gas tank.

I thought the air will be flushed out from the heater core over time. Heater works ok, but can hear a sloshing sound.
Does pressing the rubber heater hoses going to the firewall? Other methods? Take coolant tank cap off once in a while?
Lexus LS 2007+ :: Sloshing Sound On Moderate Braking
Both my wife and I noticed that whenever we brake moderately to hard, we can hear water sloshing around. The sound is coming from the driver side underneath, like maybe from the gas tank? Is this normal? We just purchased this car last month (2007 LS 460L) and love it! This is our third LS (Ls 400, 430 and now 460). What's going on?
View 3 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Water Sloshing Sound When ICE Starts Up?
I have a 2005 Prius with about 185,000 miles on it. I've noticed a water sloshing sound coming from the engine area whenever the ICE starts up and I'm accelerating from a stop. This sound does not occur when just running off the battery in electric mode... only right after the engine cranks up. After a few seconds the sound goes away until the next stop.
View 15 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Heater Out / Water Sloshing Sound As If Hit A Puddle
I have a 2001.5 Passat with the ATQ v6 and 5-sp manual tranny. A few weeks ago when I drove it up to Chicago, the heat completely stopped working. Cool air was coming out of the vents. Then when I drove back to Texas, the heater started working again. Now as of yesterday, the heater's out again. My temp sensor has the engine at 190 F, so I don't think it's overheating. One thing I do notice though is when I first start it and shift from first to second (or if I go over a speed bump), I will hear a water sloshing sound as if I'd hit a puddle. Whether it's the heater core that's blocked or perhaps the thermostat?
View 2 RepliesCamry :: Sloshing Sound Come From Dash After Car Started - RPMs Dropped
Started the car and noticed a strange sloshing sound come from the dash. Following this the car's RPMs dropped and the engine made a sort of clunky/shaking/rattling sound. stopped and restarted, and drove home fine. check engine lights on so took it to autozone to be read. got back three codes.
What the problem might be or if each code is independent from one another. Here's the codes we found:
p0456 - evap emission control system pressure leak
p0302 - cylinder 2 misfire
p0117 - engine coolant temp (ECT) circuit fault
Ford - Escape :: 2014 - Brake Noise - Sloshing Sound
Live in Las Vegas, NV & brand new car is starting to make a sloshing sound when I brake. I honestly can't say if it's been doing it since I got it in June 2014, but hubby pointed out the noise to me just recently and now that's all I hear. I've tried stopping fast, coming to regular stops and everything in between type of stops and the noise can be heard every time. Could it be the gas I hear sloshing in the tank when I stop?

Prius (2004-09) :: Sloshing Sound From Behind The Dashboard - New Coolant Valve
We've gotten quite a bit of rain in the LA area over the last couple of days and I noticed today that sometimes when I start/turn-off the car I hear what sounds like a liquid sloshing around behind the dashboard. Reading on the boards it sounds like a clogged A/C drain, but as it happens I just had the Coolant Valve replaced yesterday (after CEL came on with a P1121 diagnostic code) and so I wanted to check in -- could this be at all related to the new valve OR is it likely just a coincidence?
View 10 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Sloshing Sound Of Water Behind Dash
I've got a 2006 with about 108k on it. I've noticed in the last month (or two) an odd sloshing of water that occurs BEHIND THE DASH when the car is first turned on and then appears to go away when warmed up. About a mile from my house this morning, I noticed the sound again when taking a right turn at a stop sign. This concerns me.
Here's what I've done:
1) Fluids are fine in the car. Checked them nothing low
2) no codes have been logged in my car.
3) I've researched this site and thought clogged evaporator ac drain tube so I tried clearing it.
I fired up the compressor, got underneath the car and proceeded to blast small shots of air up the tube. Nothing happened. No water coming out. Btw, there has not been any water drainage inside the car on either the driver or passenger side.
Subaru - Forester :: Sloshing Sound Under The Car Towards Rear (cargo Area)?
Well, we let my son take our 2009 Subaru Forester across the country to college, and of course, the car seems to be having issues now. He says he is hearing a "sloshing" sound under the car towards the rear (cargo area) whenever he stops or goes over speed bumps. He insists that he has looked under seats and in crevices for loose items with liquid in them, and nothing. He also hasn't noticed (yet) any spots on the ground under the car.
View 6 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: 2015 - Water Splashing / Sloshing Sound When Parking
I bought a new 2015 Prius last week. Today, after I was cleaning only the tire/wheels cavity area by hosing it down with water. I heard a water splashing or sloshing sound when i was parking the car back in the garage when the car is moving. My theory is that the water still remains in some cavity in the car. So I will see if the noise is still there tomorrow when I go to work.
View 18 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2007 - Sloshing Sound / Water In Cargo Area
My 2007 Prius has had the sound of water sloshing for a few weeks. On Monday a light on the dashboard (red triangle with exclamation mark) lit up. Took the car to the dealer and they diagnosed water in the cargo area which created corrosion on the prongs of the little white box which connects to the battery. I was told the rear window weather stripping needed replacing.
View 3 RepliesAudi - S8 :: 2001 - Water Sloshing Sound When Air Is On And Making Sharp Turns
In the summer months when the air conditioning is in use, there is a back up of water. i can hear the water sloshing sound when the air is on and when making sharp turns it actually drains out on the front floor, both driver and passenger sides. it has also overflowed out the backseat air vents. my mechanic has told me the drain on this vehicle is tiny and becomes clogged easily. the car is parked in my garage, not left out in the elements so i disagree.
View 1 RepliesElantra MD (2010-15) :: Sloshing Sound When Turn On The Car - Water In Passenger Floor
Starting yesterday I noticed that I could hear a sloshing sound when I turn the car. It sounds like pouring water. After some driving around my neighborhood I've found that I hear the sloshing sound ONLY when the AC is on and when I turn left. It also has a sizzle sound that reminds me of dropping bacon in a hot pan.
I laid down in the floor and looked up under the dash. It looks like there's a motor and it's leaking water. That doesn't sound like a motor should be wet...The motor type thing appears to be a cylinder and says Bosch GM-M on it along with some numbers.
The carpet mat in the floor is getting a bit wet as well so that leads me to believe that something under there is leaking water and I can assume that it's leaking onto something hot creating the sizzle sound.
Toyota - Sienna :: Sound Of Pouring / Sloshing Liquid When Make A Right Hand Turn
For the past couple of days, I've been hearing the sound of pouring, sloshing liquid when I make a right hand turn. It comes from down below the dashboard, toward the middle. It seems to happen only when I've had the air conditioning on, and only when I make a right turn. Today, some liquid actually trickled out onto my foot. What might be going on and how I can get it taken care of inexpensively?
View 5 RepliesPhaeton :: Odd Noise In The Cabin When Steering
Looking at a V10 that I thought I might buy.... but it has an odd noise from the steering column. Noise is present when the engine is running - and is there whilst driving. However if, when stationary, you hold either side of the wheel and just move it fractionally, the noise goes away completely.
The noise sounds a bit like gas escaping from a pipe, or more accurately reminds me of the noise of gas being throttled like in a regrigeration circuit. Although I don't think it's anything to do with the air con. The car has the electrically adjustable column... but playing with this has now effect either.
