Phaeton :: 2006 - Spare Tire Pressure Warning Light On When Start The Car
I love my new 2006 Phaeton (white/beige) and have been trouble-free so far for first 2 months of ownership (12,000 miles) but now I get a Spare Tire Pressure Warning every time I start the car, that now stays on when I drive around. I don't even know where the spare tire is! It did just recently get cold in Chicago area suburbs, but I keep my car in the garage at all times.

I have an 06 phaeton which runs perfectly but driving to work the picture of a yellow engine came on and does not go out. I tried turning off the engine and restarting it but still it remains lit, steady. the owners manual does not state what this is other than a "malfunction indicator".

i have an 06 phaeton with 32 k miles . drove home with no problem at all, no engine shake, zippo. then i put my car in the garage and 10 minutes later smelled like a fire. i pulled my car out of the garage, and the yellow light was flashing and the engine rocking like crazy. shut it off in less than 10 seconds. under the hood, the front left spark plug cover and cable that runs across all four was almost completely melted. the cable was burned right thru. the black caps that cover the plugs-- the front right one only was melted severely. When I have my car on the garage for 10 of 15 minutes, playing with it, I normally start the car so I don't drain the battery but I noticed, after 5 minutes or so, the engine does this sound, why. There is no fault on the engine and I don't feel anything weird when driving.

I posted the following issue a year ago about my car, but the problem continues. when my 06 v8 phaeton is cold, there is variable engine rpm's with my foot steady on the gas at low speed and a flat surface. ie 1500 to 1700 to 1500 to 1700 etc. i can hear it feel it but it's subtle. the engine starts easy and runs perfect otherwise.

The Phaeton is a 2003 6.0 W12 model. The car used to be a demo car and has currently around 80.000 km. It is not equipped with a keyless entry system. I recently put an Xcarlink device to connect my iPod. All the rest is a standard equipment (basically all available at that moment).
The problem with the car started when I could not open from the remote key. I tried to open the driver door, but the never used lock jammed. The only option was opening the trunk using the key. I had to lift the lid using some force against the dumpers, but it worked.
As the both batteries on the car were original 2003 (so went through the showroom period as well) I new that they cause the problem.
I bought two new batteries and replaced them. I proceeded according to the service manual so disconnected the right battery -, right +, left -, left +. I am pretty convinced that I did not blow the battery isolator. The left battery applied is 95Ah in place of 92 before. It has the max current of 800 A in place of 850 A. The right battery is exactly the same specification as before. After testing the old batteries the left one showed current of 2.8V so it was definitely broken. The right one seemed to be OK (12.58V)
After replacing the batteries I could open the car and all the entertainment systems and electronics inside would work except for:
1) The suspension lifting and tire pressure warning lights are on.
2) I cannot start the engine - it does not crank at all even using the emergency mode - two times start and back to accessories mode
3) The trunk lid does not close automatically.
I am getting the car towed to the local VW dealer tomorrow, but I am afraid they will see the Phaeton for the first time in their lives (small Dutch dealer nearby Utrecht), so I am a bit afraid of the car.
Elantra HD (2006-10) :: Hard To Start Like Gas Isn't Getting To Engine
I am having problems starting my 2009 Elantra sedan. There are no error codes.
I get into the car and turn the ignition and it sounds like it is about to catch but as soon as I let go of the ignition it stops.
I found that if I wait a few minutes and try and give the pedal a few vigorous pumps it will start to catch, but more often than not, I have to go through this procedure several times before it starts.
This started this winter about 2 months ago and is still happening even as the weather has warmed up.
Plenty of juice to turn it over. I have replaced the spark plugs at 100,000 km with iridium plugs. I currently have 160,000 km on it.
There is plenty of gas in the car. Sounds to me like the gas isn't getting to the engine.
Is there some systematic method that I could use to isolate the problem?

I've Sonata 2006 and it's just fine no problems at all, until this problem comes. When I start the car the engine crank but not start, RMPs is jumping to 4 then into 0.. I checked fuel pump, battery and sparks all are good.

I got a 2010 sonata, just outside of the warranty with 60,400 miles. as of today these problems arose out of nowhere. the husband had trouble starting the vehicle today and got a check engine light. someone came, jumped it, and was good to go.
Well he comes home on break after 20 mins & goes to start the engine again and it takes 2-3 times to actually start. it's seems to be more difficult the longer it sits; if you turn it off and start it again it's less hesitant. we then replace the old battery that happens to be bad as well, with a relatively new one from my car and have the same problem. no more check engine- but it's still hesitating.
Possible starter problem? is something loose?
Prius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Engine Won't Start / ICE Would Not Come On
I went to leave work yesterday and my ICE would not come on. Several lights came on including the red triangle and the hybrid system warning light. The add fuel popped up on the display and then the fuel gauge goes from one pip to all ten pips flashing. I was not actually that low on fuel as lately the add fuel message has been popping up when I have about 4 gallons left. I wonder if the car just thinks I am out and so won't kick the engine on. There is no tension on the gas pedal.
A coworker had a diagnostic reader and did a reading. We got codes U0100, C1259, and C1310.
I replaced my 12V battery about two years ago and replaced my big battery 15 months/25,000 miles ago. I am at 133,000.
I did drive through some kind of high water a week ago. I didn't think it had an effect though, but possibly. I have been able to drive about 100 miles since then. However, I drove through the water, left the car at a friend's to go out of town, came back 5 days later. When I started my car after coming back, the engine kind of shook and made a strange noise. This lasted about 10 seconds. I drove home and it seemed fine for the next 100 miles.
Kia - Sedona :: 2006 - Engine Does Not Start Up At All But Everything Work?
I have a 2006 Kia Sedona which has done 57000 miles. For the last 2 weeks I have been having starting problem. When I turn the key there is no 'starting sound', the lights, radio and the AC start working but the engine does not start up at all. After several attempts and after keeping the key in 'ignition on' position the engine fires up and starts running.
It has been happening intermittently and fortunately for me it happened at the dealer and they are saying it is a short circuit in starter motor and the entire starter has to be replaced. It is covered by the warranty but I want to know if thats what is wrong. A friend of mine who had similar problems was saying that he had to replace starter 3-4 times before they discovered that a wire was defective which was not sending enough amps to start the engine. What to do.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2008 2.4L Engine Cranks But Won't Start
I have an 08 2.4L Sonata with 95000mi. When turning the ignition it will crank and sound like its about to start but won't. I was able to get it to start by pushing the gas pedal a bit when it sounds like it wanted to start. Once started, it ran rough and would stall unless I revved it above 1500 RPM. Still sounded like it occasionally miss fired.
I kept it revved until it reached normal operating temp. When I took my foot slowly off the gas, rpm dropped to about 500-600 and it seemed to pulse . I think engine was raising throttle to keep from stalling. It stalls if I try to put in gear without pressing on gas to raise throttle.
The spark plugs were changed at about 70K mikes. I have not read any codes as the car is stuck in the driveway. Could it be a vacuum leak? I know the Entourages have air intake hose leaks that cause rough idle but with a 6 cyl it still runs. Fuel pump problem?
Azera TG (2006-11) :: Engine Ticking Sound At Start
I constantly hear 'tick, tick, tick' sound from the engine at start. Once the engine gets heat up, the sound disappears. I live in canada so it is still kinda cold in the morning. I didn't have this problem in the summer. the problem started in december when it gets really cold in canada. so i thought it might be an engine oil problem. I called the dealer to ask what kind of engine oil they use for my azera, ans they said they just use a regular engine oil with viscosity of 10w-20. However when I check the manual, viscosity of 5w-30 is recommended. I know engine oil with viscosity of 5w-30 is thinner than the one with 10-20w and therefore easy for the engine to get heat up and better protection at start in the winter. What viscosity engine oil do you use for you azera? Will using synthetic engine oil useful??

I have an '06 trailblazer with the 5.3 engine. When it's cold outside Freezing and below. The engine will start. Run for three seconds. And shutdown. Pass lock light stays solid. The engine won't crank for about a minute. And it'll do the same thing. If it's about 40 or above. No problems.

After a long hour working day, B6 could not start in company's parking lot. The temperature is not cold, the battery is not dead, has plenty gas in the tank. The starter cranked but couldn't start the engine. What should I try? I am having problems with starting my 06 sonata. When I put the key in the ignition there is power, but when I turn the key the engine does not start. There is a faint click. This seems intermittent as most times the car starts normally. The battery shouldn't be the problem as I replaced it not long ago.
