2010 TDI DSG 25k miles. Something I just noticed when I was coming off cruise control I went to cancel cruise by stepping on the brake pedal and noticed it vibrating quite a bit (kind of tickled). I tried experimenting with it on the way to work the next day. Seems to happen when the car is under power not coasting. Tires are at 38psi no vibration through the steering wheel or seat, car tracks straight.
My previous two cars were Subaru's WRX and Legacy GT and boxer motors shake a lot but I never noticed a vibration. This could have been happening with the Golf for a while and I just noticed now. I don't think it's the rotors as I was feeling around under the brake pedal with my left foot while accelerating with my right and definitely vibrating. I brought it to the dealer and they replaced the brake pedal carrier bearing/pin and it's a little better but still vibrating. Is this normal?
Golf VI R :: Hesitation At 4400 RPM After VWR Intake Installed
Just installed a revised VWR intake on an APR Stage I car. Haven't updated the file yet to account for the new intake, and at about 4400 RPM at WOT, the car hesitates.

I installed a Unitronic intake last summer and I get this really weird rev hang when coming to a stop. When coasting to a stop the rpms fall at the regular pace until about 1100 rpms then they hold there for a second before returning to the normal idle, It also happens while revving in neutral occasionally.
View 1 RepliesYaris/Scion & Vitz :: Air Filter Box And Whole Assembly As Well As Intake Hose Vibrating / Shaking
When my 2001 Echo is in drive and I am stopped, the air filter box and that whole assembly as well as the intake hose shakes and vibrates and makes a noise. It doesn't happen in neutral or park or when I start driving. Also, when I was looking at this, I could see that when the car is put into or out of gear the engine moves slightly, is this normal?

Put in my new S&B intake today and when I stomp on the gas I am getting a loud shuddering noise from the intake when I change gears. Also sounds like a squealing sound sometimes. Doesn't sound like other trucks that I have heard. What that could be?
View 14 RepliesPassat (B7) :: Gas And Brake Pedal Too Far Apart
How much distance there is between the Gas pedal and the Brake pedal? I did some measuring and notice that you need to lift you foot 5.5 cm from the gas pedal to the brake pedal. In contrast my BMW X3 gas and brake pedal are only 4.5cm. (Yes metric, you do the math). I am always hitting the side of the brake pedal whenever I move to it. I've since removed the rubber cover off the brake pedal and place some strips of anti-slip tape. Now instead of 5.5 cm it's about 4.7 cm (just about where the BMW is, give or take). Feels more normal and I'm hitting the side of the brake pedal less. Works for me.

View 10 RepliesPassat (B6) :: Radiating Heat Or Hot Air Coming From The Gas And Brake Pedal
I just purchased my first VW. It's a Passat Wolfsburg edition and i truly enjoy it.
Have an issue with radiating heat or hot air coming from the gas and brake pedal area of the car. I've also felt the heat on the passenger's side as well.
I've tried using the fan, but that seems to only circulate the warm air. I've also tried leaving the settings on defrost with the fan off, but heat blows from the dash as well. I don't believe a new car should have this issue.
Passat (B7) :: 2012 - Brake Pedal Being Very Sensitive At Low Speeds
Brake pedal being very sensitive at low speeds (neighborhood speeds about 25 mph or lower). At higher speeds its not as sensitive but IMHO it is quite a bit touchy. So this issue started a few months ago, after the crankshaft key fell out and the timing belt/chain slipped. The engine needed to be torn apart to replace a few items internally.
After that I was visiting my parents, and I wanted to give the car a test drive to make sure that all seemed to be ok. I was pulling out of the driveway and I went to stop so that I could put the car into "D", I barely pushed down on the pedal and it went down pretty fast and the car stop suddenly, I thought it was a fluke. This took place a few months ago after they freshly gotten the vehicle back.
Fast forward to last night, my parents were up visiting and I went and took their Passat to the gas station to fill it up for them. And the pedal was still pretty darn sensitive. I'm not too savvy with this kind of trouble shooting.
Passat (B7) :: Brake Pedal Extremely Hard To Depress
Having an issue with my brake pedal. When the car sits for long periods of time, usually overnight, the brake pedal is extremely hard to depress. I have to really press down hard in order to start the ignition. Took it into my dealership, and they actually said there was a TSB issued for something to do with the brakes. Well, evidently, they fixed it, but the issue came back almost immediately, only this time it's worse. The brake pedal firms up after 3-4 hours of sitting.
Brakes feel fine once the ignition is turned on. I was told there's no issue with driving it, but I'm not so sure I trust what I was told.
Passat (B6) :: Very Soft Brake Pedal, Sinks To The Floor
My B6 purchased exactly three weeks ago has had a soft brake pedal since day one. By "soft," I mean that when parked with the engine running and applying moderate pedal pressure, the brake pedal provides some resistance but sinks to the floor. If I pump it up a few times, it temporarily gets much firmer, but eventually sinks to the floor again after a few seconds. Now the car so far has never failed to actually stop, and it can get into the ABS. But during an abrupt (okay...panic) stop last week, it did go to the floor while the car was still moving. That's when I decided that was enough and took it back to be serviced.
My expectation was that there was just a small amount of air in a line somewhere, and that they could bleed the system and fix it. That was my experience with my B5: it was very sensitive to the least little bit of air, and if it wasn't thoroughly bled after brake service the pedal often got mushy and could find the floor. But bleeding them always get the pedal back to normal. So the service advisor said that he "had the service manager drive [my car] and compare it to a new Passat [on the lot] and talked to "Quality Tech. Manager to confirm." And the confirmation was that my brake system is "working as designed." In short, they say the brakes are working properly and there is nothing to fix. So I have now picked up the car and it still does the same thing.
Now I can (and will) bleed the brakes on my own over the weekend. But I would like feedback from others as to whether or not their brake pedals regularly see the floor. I just can't see this being the way any hydraulic brake system should work..
Passat (B6) :: Vibration In Brake Pedal At High Speed

View 13 RepliesPassat (B7) :: 2013 - Sticky Brake Pedal When Let Foot Up Off
I just bought a 2013 Passat SE 2.5 about a month ago. Since driving it home I have noticed that the brake pedal sort of sticks when I let my foot up off it. It doesn't happen during hard braking, just normal to light, especially when I'm riding the brake in heavy traffic. When I lightly press the pedal in, it feels like something is sticking and again when I let off it has the same feeling and it will sometimes not come up with my foot, but it rather slaps/taps the bottom of my foot while returning to position.
I took the car back to the dealer to check out and of course the service tech didn't feel what I felt. So the let me drive a loaner Passat, same model, and I felt the SAME sensation in its brake pedal. At the time I just chalked it up to "that just must be how these are", but it's kind of annoying and I don't totally feel it's right. What is causing this?
Passat (B7) :: Brake Pedal Making Noise When Depressed?
