Passat (B5) :: Brake Lights Not Coming On When Hit The Pedal
Ok, so my brake lights don't come on when I hit the pedal, but the instrument cluster does. I checked the fuses and they're fine.

I got my 14 Elantra GT 3 months ago.
If I am driving with all the windows and roof opened, I can feel the engine heat coming in to the car from the pedal area. I took it to the dealer and they said it's normal.
Passat (B7) :: No Heat Or Air Coming Out Of Vents
The other morning I started my car up and no heat or air would come out of my vents. The night before I had to drive through a blizzard and my car was completely packed with snow. The climate controls function normally, everything is lighting up when i select a button, but no air is coming out of the vents (rear defrost and seat warmers work fine). There is no sound of the blower starting when I turn the air on, hot or cold. I live in Northeast Ohio so we currently have several inches of snow and it's well below freezing outside. I live in an apartment so my car is outside 24/7 between being here and at work. I looked up a bunch of posts on here and other websites to try to figure it out. I ended up taking my cabin filter out and it is completely packed with snow. So i vacuumed out the snow that was left in the cabin filter housing as far as i could reach. I also unpacked as much snow as possible from wheel wells seeing as the HVAC vent goes to there, and the blower still doesn't work.
What I am guessing, which I could be completely wrong, is that the HVAC vent is completely packed with snow and it's not letting the blower turn. I guess my question is does that seem remotely possible or is it something else completely? My climate control doesn't work on the highest setting so I don't think its the relay I read about and my heater has been working fine with no noises or anything and I don't believe it would just go bad out of the blue.

Passat (B5) :: Can't Get The Air Pocket Out And Heat Is Barely Coming In
BMW's have a special way to bleed the system, does the VW passat have on too? Seems like I can't get the air pocket out and heat is barely coming in. I just put a radiator in and all the coolant obviously is gone, so I put new coolant in and the cars been idling for about 30 with the cap off letting air out and heat is barely coming in, am i missing something? Engine temp is NORMAL, in the middle, so NO overheating issues.

As I was driving on the highway yesterday, I noticed an unusual heat coming from my car. I thought it was the air vents at first, but to my surprise, it was coming from the brushed aluminum interior trimming around the navigation and the that plastic piece around the key fob. There was also excessive heat coming from the the gas and brake pedal area. I am wondering what this is and I am worried that it might be an insulation issue.
There is also a very rough idle when I am at a stop on a red light. It got louder recently as there is a weird ticking noise/rattle coming from under the car, by my feet. This is definitely associated with the notorious idle issue on the 3.6 but my stealer cannot identify and replicate the issue.

I have a 2005 4.2 with 89k 4wd. The brake pedal occasionally goes farther towards the floor when coming to the end of a stop. I have bled the brake lines. All brake pads, rotors, and lines are good. Could it still be air in the lines?

How much distance there is between the Gas pedal and the Brake pedal? I did some measuring and notice that you need to lift you foot 5.5 cm from the gas pedal to the brake pedal. In contrast my BMW X3 gas and brake pedal are only 4.5cm. (Yes metric, you do the math). I am always hitting the side of the brake pedal whenever I move to it. I've since removed the rubber cover off the brake pedal and place some strips of anti-slip tape. Now instead of 5.5 cm it's about 4.7 cm (just about where the BMW is, give or take). Feels more normal and I'm hitting the side of the brake pedal less. Works for me.

My 2001.5 Passat traditionally does not start easily when it is less than 6degrees outside. Today it was that cold..it started easily..but about 30 minutes into my drive to work..I realized it was a little smoky and exhaustish smelling in the car..once I realized it wasn't the car next to me..i realized if I turned off the heat..the smell went away..but at the stoplight..i could see smoke coming from under the hood..out the corner by the passenger/dashboard... So I changed out my front brakes and rotors on my 03 camry le, and I noticed the driver side pads are more worn out than the passenger side. Also when im driving highway and coming off I notice some vibration in the brake pedal, its not all the time though. Do you think my caliper is partially sticking? Here in the last week or so, I've noticed the brake pedal is very sensitive now and will sometimes stick causing the brake lights to say on after the car is turned off.

The last few months I have been hearing a strange noise from the driver's side; seems to be coming from under the floorboard and can sometimes feel a vibration in the brake pedal. The noise is similar to a cat meowing. Have a son who is a GM tech; he said it sounds more electrical than mechanical. It happens mostly when I drive it cold. Seems to also happen more when turning/braking. I had the main belt replaced this summer. Should I have the tension pully replaced?

After replacing my brake pads and shoes I am hearing a squealing noise coming from the area near my brake pedal. This noise sometimes becomes high pitched if I depress the brake too hard. I am also losing a little bit of brake fluid if I depress the pedal hard several times. The brakes themselves function fine and have no problem stopping. When I bled the brakes today some of the fluid was black. I figured it might be air in the system but after bleeding them it is still happening. I also replaced the bleeder screws.
1997 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4L uses DOT 3 brake fluid.

The brake lights come on in the rear after i park the car. it appears the brake pedal is not springing back for enough to disengage the brake lights. It does not do this all the time, but seems to have start doing this at night when it gets colder. I can look outside and see my brake lights on, then go off, then come back on. It has made the battery go dead twice in the last week. is this a easy fix or something more complicated. this has nothing to do with parking brake, i normally do engage parking brake since i park on a flat surface road in front of my home.
