Phaeton :: Automatic Transmission - Check / Change ATF Level
I have been knocking my head against the wall trying to get an appointment for an ATF fluid and filter change with no success. The odometer reads 67000 miles.
Those VW tech don't want to touch it unless there is something wrong. Hard to believe. Changing ATF fluid and filter as preventive maintenance?
Passat (B5) :: Check Engine Light After Oil Change?
My MIL light came on today for some reason. The owner's manual mentions it may be tied to an emissions problem. I just purchased this car a few months ago and had the oil changed two days ago for the first time. Could there be any connection? What are the most common reasons for the light coming on? I know with other types of cars, that light could mean one of many different things.

I have a 07 Camry XLE. My previous battery started dying on me so I changed to an Optima Yellowtop battery. Next day the check engine light came on, and sometimes while idle the car starts stalling, it never turns off though just that the RPM goes really low and the acceleration is really slow and it feels like the car is having trouble accelerating. Today it happened again but I was over 60MPH and hitting the gas pedal and it seemed to stop accelerating a few times.

Alright so yesterday I changed the oil for the first time in my 1.8t B5 Passat and when I went to drive it the transmission slips a little. When I was changing the oil filter, I did drop it and oil spilled bellow. I am really confused why the Trans would have a problem. There is plenty of Trans fluid, and It had no problems what so ever before.

Went to Mechanic today and he found transmission oil leaking at the green arrow. Ignore the yellow circle.
Big problem or small problem? Btw i hate that there's no dipstick for VWs' transmission oil level. My mechanic said the level is fine. Since Im not getting it fixed soon because I got school and stuff, how do I know if the level is fine?
Mechanic also mentioned that I should change my axels (i dont know if that's the right spelling)

I have 2007 sport trac 4.0 liter V6. I have noticed for the past week or so that I have antifreeze leaking from the bottom of the radiator and I had to add some coolant to it the other day(1/2 gallon). I know it is the radiator leaking and not the overflow so I am going to go head and order me a radiator and change it. I have read that some of the replacement radiators was not lasting but about a year before they leaked.From what I have read on the internet a lot of ford owners is having this same problem with the radiator leaking at around 60,000 miles. Also there is no transmission dip stick to check the fluid, will I lose enough fluid that it hurt the transmission. I have just had the 60,000 mile transmission service done.

I do have a 5th gen but it's a 5-speed. I'm just wondering, why did Toyota go back to the A140E auto tranny for the 6th gen celicas after switching to the A241E for the 5th gens (talking about the 5SFE's)? Did the 241 have some unforeseen problems or was less reliable? Or was it just more expensive to produce, since it appears to have been developed for the supercharged 1st gen mr2? Maybe they switched back for greater commonality with the Camry?

Toyota - Corolla :: 2002 - Check Engine Light Came On After Oil Change
Had the oil changed today; before doing so, I saw that the check engine light had come on. Have been told by 3 professional car maintenance people that there is no connection between needing oil / oil change and check engine, that it would have been the check maintenance light.
Will take it in for diagnostic test by dealer. Also, was told by the oil change guy that he heard pinging which could mean that the car needs to have the valves adjusted, and that the check engine light is due to needing something or other with the gas tank filter which could have a leak/crack, etc.
Phaeton :: Transmission Fluid Change
I have been changing the transmission fluid. It seems the consensus is that unless you are driving under extreme conditions (other than "normal"), it may be advised. I am probably driving my 2006 V8 Phaeton "normally" but I am not sure of its previous life. For example, it lived in hot and humid South Carolina and may have done a lot of highway miles. So I am thinking about changing that fluid for safe measure.

I Opened my 2011 Prius trunk to get the tire wrench to take my snow tires off, and install my main tires and rims. When I went to start up the car after it was done, I have a "Check Hybrid System" Message on the MFD. I wondered if I'd hit one of the 2 orange items on the Electric drive battery, that was exposed in the trunk, and I can't get rid of the message. So I go and get my oil change on Sunday at a local place. Oil change is done and later that evening my engine light comes on (solid orange). I call the local VW service and they say its nothing to worry about. "Maybe a little moisture got inside my gas tank." I have a 2009 camry 2.4L with a 5speed manual transmission. My car currently has 67,000 miles and I want to drain / change the transmission oil. Is there a type or recommended best oil to use? I was thinking of just getting toyota factory 75w-90 gear oil and putting it back in. Is the process for drain / change the same as the corolla because I saw a DIY for the 5 speed corolla trans.
