I know that if you hit the engine button without the brake pedal pressed when you get in the car you can turn on electronics (radio, navigation etc) without turning on the engine. I want to know if it's possible to go from the engine being on directly to electronics on mode without turning the car off and then turning them on.

So Ive been having really annoying electrical issues with my Jetta. Everything works fine when driving, but sometimes when I turn it off after driving for about 20 min, the car electronics will not turn off and the engine will continue to run for about 7 seconds with the key out of the ignition and then sputter to a stop. The electronics do not turn off after the engine has stopped. I ripped apart the interior to look at relays and the ignition switch. They all look fine and they look like they are grounding fine. Do you think it might just be a bad ignition switch?

I drive an 05 Chevy Classic (that's an '04 Malibu made in '05), and it's never given me problems (though I've only had it about 2 years). This morning, I can't get it going. The engine turns over when I turn the key (though some of the time it takes several moments), but then as soon as I let go of the key, the engine dies. I tried giving it gas, but this doesn't seem to make a difference. After a couple of tries I noticed that the dashboard lights weren't coming on. They usually all light up while the starter runs, and I can at least get them to light most of the time when the key is turned to "on". None of this works. The power windows will open and close when I have the key turned to on, so the electrical system works somewhat.

I have a 2005 passat 1.8T non 4-motion and the check engine light turns on with no noticeable performance loss or idle fluctuation then will turn off in 3-4 days only to turn back on in another 3-4 days. My guess is something with the fuel, or moisture in the tank or even a stupid gas cap problem but im just shooting my question out there hoping another passat driver has experienced this same ridiculous problem.

I have been driving my Prius III (2013) for about 6 months. Until 1 week ago, the vehicle behaved as expected. Now, the Bluetooth turns off after about 1 minute of being on. It will not turn back on. I did clear the paired devices under the clear personal data menu option, then I got my phone to reconnect. Then, Bluetooth shut down. It seems as though many are having this issue. Is this an issue that would be covered for repair under the warranty. My car is still under the original factory warranty.

2004 Passat 1.8T, I was driving down a highway in my hometown, my odometers got stuck, gauge lights turned off, Radio and air control lights dimmed fully, everything else works. i get home check my fuse box-fine, check my battery connection-fine. try to turn my car back on and the engine starts but then it shuts off, the gauge lights still wont turn on and the odometers are still stuck. So I check the wires under the driver floor-not corroded or water damaged or loose. I take it to the (gas station) shop down the street from my house. They have no idea whats wrong. possibly immobilizer, possibly a security mode my car is stuck in, possibly my car isnt recognizing my cars, sounds like my computer wont talk to my car.... They said its over their head (obviously).

All of a sudden, the navigation system in my Prius c is no longer giving me turn-by-turn guidance. It will, when I set a route, give me directions, once, and will then remain silent unless I press the on screen volume button, or use the 'Repeat directions' voice command.
I've looked through all the options screens several times, but don't see anything that seems connected to turning voice guidance on or off.

2001 V6, 5sp .... Engine will not crank/turn over.
Dealer initially thought broken timing belt. They looked again today (through an inspection hole) and belt was still in place and under tension but some teeth seemed to be missing. They THINK it could be a seized water pump that caused this (there was otherwise no indication of a seized water pump). Cams/belts do not move when you try to start it. Dealer said engine would need to be replaced or the damage repaired from trying to start it and causing whatever internal damage this causes..heads, valves, etc. that's where it stands now.

After I have been driving and turn the engine off there is one 'Beep' sound and the light above the left visor turns on. The only thing that will turn the light off is if I put the visor back up. It stays on in all other positions. Opening the little mirror window on the visor does neither turn on or turn off the light. I have 01 passat, it runs fine, except check engine light is on. When I turn AC on the engine beginnings to work funny, RPMs jumping up and down, feel like engine doesn't get enough air (or gets too much). I was told to replace ignition coils. I replaced them all but the problem didn't go away. Even actually one of the coils pups up a little bit all the time.
