Passat (B7) :: Brake Pedal Making Noise When Depressed?

But when I take my foot off the brake pedal , its just seems rather noisy (clunky). As if VW forgot to put some rubber or something to prevent this clunky sound. (it just sounds cheap)

My jetta and tiguan never seemed like this. Have to stick my head under there and see whats up

Passat (B5) :: V6 Shaking A Lot And Making Small Rumbling Noise On Startup

I own a b5.5 2.8l 30v v6. Today I went to get in the car and on start up for the first time in 3 days it started shaking a lot and making a small rumbling noise, sort of like a cylinder misfire. This isn't the first time its happened. I tried searching this up and everything seems to point toward the fuel injectors. In this past 6 months my average mpg has dropped from about 20 to 16.

I am guessing it is this, but someone also said it might be a cylinder misfire. What exactly is causing this? Also in the 1 year of owning it, it makes sort of a diesel sounding noise in the engine. Some people have told me it might just be the valves that need to be adjusted but I have no clue.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Brake Pedal Making Noise Like Clicking

My daughter has bought a 2003 4 door accent and on the way to work she lost most of the brakes. I could not see any fluid leaking and the level was ok. I did try pushing on the brake pedal with my hand and it was making a noise like a clicking? I was thinking it was just the brake light switch but not sure. The place she bought it from put new brakes on it when the driver side was getting really hot. I am thinking maybe air in the system? It sounded like a caliper was sticking when I test drove it but only a couple of times. You would have some brakes but you had to pump the peddle. It is in a parking lot right now but I can work on it unless it is some sort of different? I am going to try to bleed it in a little bit but was thinking I should ask around. I read that the piston could be sticking but can you just rebuild the master cylinder to fix it if that is what it is? I could pull the pedal back a little bit. I only looked at for 4 or 5 minutes kinda dark and no tools with me.

Lexus RX 2010-15 :: RX450H Making Noise When Brake Pedal Is Pushed

My less than 7000 miles RX started making noise when I pushed the brake pedal. Evidently it sounded like the "LS brake squawk" according to service foreman. Not sure if the actuator is same in all RXs.

Civic - Honda :: Brake Making Squeaking Noise When Pedal Released

A mechanic recently replaced the pads of the front brakes. After the service, the break makes squeaking noise when I release the break pedal. According to the mechanic, it is normal, and I better ignore the noise. Is it true?

Accent MC (2006-11) :: Brake Pedal Making Creaking Noise When Depressed

My brake pedal is making a creaking noise when depressed and can also be heard when letting off the pedal. The noise is not coming from the brakes themselves (front/back are like new) but the pedal area or somewhere behind it. This noise doesn't start until I've driven the car for a little while. The brakes work fine for the most part but sometimes feel a bit spongy if making a sudden or hard stop. The fluid levels are fine.

I'm taking it in on Friday and hoping that the brakes just need to be bled a little or maybe the pedal just needs lube, but I'm worried it might be the booster or master cylinder---if it is one of these?

Golf IV R32 :: Brake Pedal Making Slight Grind / Clicking Noise?

Ok so I have done a complete brake overhaul with rebuilt calipers, new pads and rotors and a new master cylinder. Brakes stop on a dime and are solid when pressed firmly. When coming to a stop at a slow speed (5 mph) pedal gives in with slight clicking grinding noise. I have exhausted searches on google and here with no soild answers any clue what causes this or how to fix it?

Accord :: 2002 - Thumping Brake Pedal For A Bit / Warped Rotor

I have had a thumping brake pedal for a bit and knew that I had a warped rotor. I suspected the right rear by the wear pattern of the disk. I purchased the parts and started the job to see...what the heck is the cable and assembly on the outside of the caliper? After FINALLY getting the bolts off...not a great placement of this extra assembly...I pretty much had to beat the caliper off the rotor. I was afraid of this...I will have to replace the caliper as it appears to be seized.

Now... what I would assume is the parking brake assembly? I have read some great info on the normal replacement of the pads/rotor...but what do I need to know about the cable and arms? Do I need to release the tension somehow? Does it need to be rigged? Is there a best way to do this?

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Brake Pedal Went Down Half Way Before Engaging And Hardening

Picked up an 02 Accent with 97K for local use. The brake pedal went down half way before engaging and hardening. Front brakes were good. Rear shoes were worn and had a leaking wheel cylinder on the right side. Changed the shoes and both wheel cylinders. Bled the rear brakes with the engine off by pumping the pedal slowly and opening the bleed to make sure I got no air in. Pedal got hard just off the top and the shoes hold the brake drum tight.

Now, turn the engine on and the pedal goes all the way down before it grabs and gets hard. I was going to bleed again with the engine on to see if that makes any difference. Can't see that it's the master cylinder and the car has no abs.

Ford Escape / Hybrid :: 2002 3.0L 4wd - Thumping Noise / Severe Shaking When Accelerate

My brother has an 02 ford escape that he bought cheap because it needed a transmission. He just replaced the transmission in it as well as tie rod ends, front axles, axle bushings and seals. The front pads and rotors are new and the tires were just rotated. Now when you are going 15mph and up and are on the accelerator there is a severe shaking as you accelerate and a loud thumping noise. If you let off the accelerator it goes away. If you get it going fast enough it will shake so bad the mirrors will shake. He is a ford mechanic but said he is having a hard time pin pointing what it could be . He took me for a ride. He said he has had other mechanics look at it but they can't figure it out.

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Brake Pedal Seems To Go Half Way To Floor Before Grabbing

I did a search and found nothing. When I press on the brake pedal, it seems to go half way to the floor before grabbing. The other 2010 I tested did the same thing. Is this common or is this something that I need to take to the dealer?

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2002 - Brake Pedal Goes Half Way To Floor?

2002 F-150 4x4 w/ 5.4 v-8. Brake pedal goes half way to floor before it starts to stop the vehicle. I have replaced and bled the master cylinder, bled out all of the calipers, and the calipers are installed correctly because the bleeder screws are at the top on all of them so no air can be trapped up there. The truck seems to stop fine, but just takes more pedal to get it to start stopping than I'm comfortable with. Could the ABS unit need bled out too? Or could it be an adjustment issue with the booster rod?

Also, something else I noticed, and it may be related..the ABS unit usually makes a slight clanking sound (like someone kicking a metal garbage can) a couple seconds after the key is turned on. I know its the ABS unit because a couple weeks ago I had a friends scanner hooked up to the truck, and I went into the ABS computer to clear the codes (have ABS light on from what I found to be a bad sensor wire on the front drivers side according to the scanner) and as soon as i cleared the codes on the ABS, it made that sound. I don't know if maybe there is something wrong with the ABS actuator, or if it's related to the brake pedal issue.

Passat (B6) :: Persistent White Noise That Stops When Pressing The Brake Pedal

First off, I would like to say that I really like how the engine rolls in my 06 Passat 2.0T. Suspension is great and the brake works well...so far. What worries me now is the persistent white noise I get in the cabin when the engine is on, driving or idling, EXCEPT when applying brake.

I took it to the dealer 2 times for this reason. The first time, the rep swore that he could not hear the sound and made a crazy person out of me. The tech wrote in the report that there is no problem. The rep explained that it is the sould of air circulating back (what air?).

So, I took it to an independent mechanic, the one I have been taking my other cars to (Nissan, Infinity, BMW) for the past 5 years or so. He readily heard the sound and identified it as vacuum leak.

I took the car back to the dealer and asked them to check, and it came back to me that the booster performs as per design. It is true that I haven't experienced any loss of brake power yet.

Meanwhile, the sound is getting stronger (and I don't think I am imagining it all, either). Now I have to turn on the radio or CD to muffle the noise.
(Now that my venting and ranting is done...)

Also, if it really is a vacuum leak, does it generate a code? So far, I have not seen any check engine light or check brake light and matchign description appear on the dashboard information console.

Jeep - Grandcherokee :: 2006 - Shaking Under 45 Mph / Vibrations In The Brake Pedal

I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee and since I bought the car used the rear right brake has squealed despite having the breaks replaced and serviced twice. I have had the car for less than a year. Recently I have noticed a bit of a shake/thud while I'm driving at speeds lower than 45mph. It almost feels like I have a flat tire, despite all of my tires being properly inflated. I do not have to be pressing the brake to feel the shake, however I do feel the vibrations in the brake pedal. What could be the problem and could it be dangerous?

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Shaking Steering Wheel And Pulsing Brake Pedal At Speeds Above 55mph

I bought 09 GX-470 4K miles ago..has 50K on it. Ran perfect when we bought it. wife said it started doing it 1 week later. I drove it and felt like warped rotors to me. replaced front rotors and pads with cheap wearever brand...I Know...I was sort of trouble shooting..did nothing ...did the back rotors and pads and seemed to fix it..did proper bed-in of new parts but, never checked at speeds above 55mph. recent trip got us up to speeds above 55... at these faster speeds when brakes are applied we get a nasty wheel wobble and a pulsing pedal...braking below 55 it feels fine.. thought's ?? last car was a 4runner which has the the same rotors and pads and never had a problem...could it be ABS ?? should I go with new oem rotors and pads ?

Hyundai - Santafe :: Brake Pedal Making Audible Click When Press Down On It

I have a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe with 152,000 miles on it. Last night, when I got in my car after work, I noticed that the brake pedal is now making an audible click when I press down on it. This has never occurred before (including on my way to work yesterday), but is still doing it today.

No lights are present on the dashboard, and I have not noticed any difference in the performance of my brakes. What could cause this, and should I be concerned?

Toyota - Corolla :: 2007 - Brake Pedal Making Clicking Sound

My brake pedal clicks when depressed, only at the start of pressing down on it. (This is a 2007 Corolla CE.) It only does this when the car is cold and started doing this during the very cold below freezing weather. The brake lights are all working, nothing else seems to be a problem -- brakes work fine, no vibration, etc. Brakes were checked out two months ago.
