Prius V :: How To Turn Off Backup Alarm And Seatbelt Chime
How to turn off the constant annoying back-up alarm in a Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) three? I asked the dealer and they told me it cannot be done...no codes yet. I remember doing a series of settings in a Gen II Prius that would turn off the backup alarm and seatbelt chime.

I have an 07 SE, and I've been looking for a way to disable the factory Toyota chime and have my horn beep when I lock/unlock the doors. I believe the Asian models have this feature. Just wondering if it's something we can do with the USDM units.

Last night I was driving my '99 Passat when suddenly I heard this loud alarm in my car. Quickly looking down I saw what I think were my ABS and brake indicator lights on. It happened so fast, maybe less than a second and everything was back to normal.
I was driving on dry pavement on country roads at about 60 mph. Outside temp was 37 and there were major gusts of wind, maybe 40 mph or so. Vehicle has about 115,000 miles on it.
Checked my manual and it said to have it checked.

Passat (B5) :: 2003 VW GLX Lights Not Turning On When Open Driver Door And Alarm Beep
So I have a 2003 vw passat glx and I just had a shop replace my heater core. Anyways I got the car back and now when the drivers door is open the inside light doesn't turn on. It does when the other door is open.. Also when I lock the doors via remote it doesn't horn anymore.

My Audi has always been at about 2 gallons or so, and usually around 30 miles left on the range meter. The Touareg seems to come on much earlier, around when there is 80 miles left on the range meter. Is the reserve on the Touareg much larger than the standard 2 gallon reserve? Is the range meter accurate at 80 miles?

I have the Bi-xenon's I had installed on the top and I wanted my Fog lights to match. At a performance shop they installed Can Bus Ballasts with 6000K light to match the top Xenon's. I turned Cornering lights off in VI -COM so my car will stop kicking on the dash light every time I turn a corner. Here the weird part.
If I turn my fog lights on during the day NO FLICKERING. But at night the front left Flickers. I've replaced the Ballast and the light and it still does it. I think it has something to do with the Automatic Switch that turns the lights on at night.

Passat (B5) :: Back-up Lights Not Working / Faint Glow From Left Side When In Reverse
I've got an '04 Passat and I'm having trouble with the back-up lights. The fuse was blown (which I replaced), and I just finished swapping out the bulbs. Only one of the bulbs looked burned out.
The lights are still not working, although I get a very faint glow from the left side when in reverse. I'm really puzzled that I'd get a faint light from just one side.
Golf V R32 :: Lights Doesn't Chime
Got a 2008 r32 out in australia.
I have noticed that if you leave the lights on it doesn't chime at you like the other vag cars I have had in the past. This caught my wife out the other day but now she is experienced in jump starting it :-)
The basics work. The micro switch in the door must be working because the mfd shows the door open when it is and the interior lights come on as they should. The chime works if you drive off without your seat belt on so the chime must be working.
I realise the chime won't work with the auto light but i would have thought it should have when using the other modes.
Touareg :: V8 Dead - No Lights / No Chime Except The Radio Still Worked
On Monday morning, I turned the key to my V8 and nothing happened. No lights, no chime, nothing except the radio still worked. I called VW roadside assistance and the AAA guy who came couldn't jump start it. So the truck had to be (in park with the steering wheel locked and the key locked in the ignition) dragged onto a flatbed ...
Now one week later, they still can't figure it out...except to tell me that it's not the battery... I should have bought the Lexus.
Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Warning Lights And Continuous Chime
ABS, Brake, Traction warning lights display and chime sounds when car is started in the mornings. These warnings disappear after car is parked for at least half an hour and then re-started.
They will come on then intermittently while going over a small bump, or sounding horn or turning on wipers. It's like the car is haunted.
So far the dealership has replaced a front speed sensor which solved the problem for a couple of weeks. Yesterday I returned it to the dealership with the same problem and they diagnosed it as a poor battery cable ground and declared it fixed. This morning the lights and chime were back on.
The power steering feels loose & less responsive while lights are activated.
Prius (2004-09) :: ABS And Brake Lights On - High Pitch Chime
I have a 2003 Toyota Prius, that you have to push sooo hard to make it stop, the ABS and brake light are on and there is some aweful chime that is solid and doesn't go away (very high pitch), I just got the car, and got it like this. I think its signs of a BRAKE BOOSTER, but I have been unable to loacted that, I found the Master Cylinder, but looks like you have to remove the Hybrid engine to do... Is there a procedure for this...

I can't find an explanation for this but I dropped the car off to have windows tinted.
This AM I picked the car up and when I press the lock button, the doors DO lock but there is no longer a chime and the lights dont flash.
I've gone into settings and made sure that that setting is turned on and it appears fine but it still doesn't work like it did yesterday.
FWIW - the chime does sound for UNLOCK, just not lock.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Door Chime / Interior Lights Not Working
I have a 2003 accent and i no longer have interior lights or a door chime working..
I did have a electrician friend change out my hatch last week and pretty sure he shorted out the fuse. I can't seem to see what fuse it would be all seem good
From me checking around i am lead to belive the it could be (shunt connector, memory fuse, power connector, joint connector m31) multiple names for the same thing.
How would i check this? How is it removed?
Prius (Gen 3) :: Sunroof Left Opened - Single Beep Alarm On Parking?
It was such a nice day today that I popped the Sunroof open on my shinny new 2013 Prius which I haven't had a chance to do until today. When I parked the Prius and opened the door to get out, I heard a 'single beep' sound. Confused and not knowing exactly what that 'single beep' was intended for, I proceeded out of the Prius and touched the button to lock the doors. But due to my absentmindedness, I then noticed that I had left the Sunroof 'OPEN'.
However, I couldn't believe that the doors actually locked and the Prius didn't do any other kind of additional alarming with the Sunroof left open. So, I presume that this 'one single beep' I heard when I opened the door was intended to inform me that the Sunroof was left open. It's a good thing that I wasn't in a hurry today and noticed it because I didn't know what that single beep was meant for.
Phaeton :: Check Lights Message Came Up On Screen With Loud Warning Chime Nonstop
One of my taillights stopped functioning last night on my drive home. The "check lights" message came up on screen, accompanied by a loud warning chime. However, it wouldn't stop. It kept flashing "check lights" over and over, and kept repeating the chime every few seconds for my entire ride home.
This morning, everything seems to be OK. The taillight is still out, but it's not chiming repeatedly (at least for now). What caused my Phaeton to freak out like that?
