Prius (Gen 3) :: Backing Up In Crowded Parking Lots No-beep / White Noise Alarm
After turning off the stooooopid inside-cabin reverse gear beep alarm two months ago, I was worried about the silence of my PiP while backing up in crowded parking lots, etc. Searching for a piezo-electric add-on backup beeper audible behind thater than in the PiP, I found this site:

2012 Prius liftback 3 with solar roof....
I'm pretty sure this is new behavior the past week or so. Whenever I open the door, whether finishing a drive or entering the car from outside, the car beeps once as if it is trying to get my attention for something. This happens when the car is off (I always press the power button before opening the door)
I do not see any warning lights or anything obviously wrong; what is the significance of this beep?
Prius (2010-12) :: Long Single Loud Beep
unlike a lot of my fellow prii folks, i love the beeps. My favorite one is the confirmation of locking the doors by touch of handle and also unlocking by touch. Believe it or not i even like the backup beep which is kind of like a nice confirmation of "yo, dude! we are going backwards" but the most important one for me is the long single loud beep. happened the other day when i got out of my car to get a coke and the car emitted a continuous loud shrill beep as i started to walk away. I was still in drive.

For the last couple weeks, every time I shut down my car, it would beep. A single, two-second beep. It would beep after my morning commute and again after my evening commute. Every time, I would tell myself, "I should really look that up."
As is typical, I kept forgetting to search for it. I remembered seeing something like it and I was thinking that perhaps it was a low 12v battery warning but I just got a new 12v last fall. I put it off and put it off.
Prius (Gen 3) :: Random Single / Long Beep When Locking Via Handle
Recently, my Prius has been randomly giving me the single, long warning beep when I try to lock it by touching the handle. The car is definitely not still on, and the key is in my pocket when it happens. I've checked the doors, and none are ajar. It's not 100% consistent, but happens about 50-75% of the time. When it happens, I can lock the car with the key or keyfob - but touching the handle just gets me the long beep and no lock.

I am hearing a single BEEP, about every 4 minutes, when I am driving. What the heck is it? I can't figure it out, looked in the Manual.
I found the Internal Alarm on Page 432, don't think it is that. The key is in my pocket, the car is on, I am driving! I've also removed the key from my pocket and set it on the front passenger seat, darn BEEP continues.
Prius (2010-12) :: Single Beep On Opening Driver Side Door
About 3 weeks ago our Gen III (Prius III with Nav and Solar) began generating a single standard duration (maybe 1 second, similar duration to reverse beep) beep each time the driver's door is opened. It only occurs with the driver's door and happens whether the car is locked, unlocked, started or not. We had our reverse beep-beep converted to a single beep about 2 months ago and now this single beep is annoying each time we open the driver's door whether we are inside our outside of the car. We could not find anything in the user manual that described why this beep would continue occurring.

Sometimes (but not always!) when I turn my Prius (2008) off and open the driver door, there is a constant beep. There are no interior lights left on. I think whatever I am doing wrong might be draining the 12v battery as it keeps going flat.

New 2015 Mercedes E350 wagon ..... The day after I took delivery, I tried to open the new wagon's doors (it has a keyless feature) and nothing happened. I tried again and still nothing happened. I then took the smartkey out of my pocket and tried to click open the locks and nothing happened. I then took the ancillary key out of the smartkey and unlocked the car manually. This set off the alarm which would only stop when I closed the door and relocked the car.
Also, the car would not start. It was like I had broken in to the car. A few minutes later, while waiting for roadside assistance to speak with me, I tried the door handle again and discovered that the doors would now open keylessly. I have driven the car several times since the incident (which occurred yesterday) and it has not repeated the problem. What caused the problem?Is this a one time glitch or am I in danger of being stranded somewhere?
Prius C :: Turn Off Beep For Lights / Sunroof?
Any way to turn off that annoying beep that happens when you turn the car off but the lights are on? This also happens if the sunroof is open. I have the lights set to turn off after 30 seconds and they turn off when I double click the remote anyways. The sound drives me nuts.

How good the alarm on a B6 is. I mean, it goes off when the doors are opened and the alarm is on...but how easy is it to steal a Passat.
I wanna put a navi in and do a few things...but I just don't feel ok doing them and knowing I don't have a GREAT alarm.
Prius (Gen 3) :: Alarm Sounds When Passenger Door / Trunk Opened (using Door Handle)
My father recently purchased a 2012 Prius 3. To reduce his insurance premiums, he purchased an alarm system, which the dealer installed for him a few days after he first took the car off the lot. Now, when unlocking or locking the car from the driver's door handle sensor or via the remote, it both chirps (not the horn) and briefly sounds the horn twice or once, depending on whether you are unlocking or locking.
The problem is that when the car is unlocked from the trunk or the passenger door (using the door handle sensor with the key in pocket), this does not disarm the alarm, and the alarm will sound when the door is opened. The alarm is only disarmed when using the remote's unlock button or using the Smart Key sensor at the driver's door. One of the major differences between the 3 and 2 trims is that the 3 has Smart Key capability on the front doors and the trunk, rather than just the driver's door but the alarm has negated this benefit, as opening the trunk or passenger door without first unlocking from the driver's door or remote causes the alarm to sound.
Is this normal for a Toyota-installed alarm?
Passat (B5) :: Sunroof Opened On Its Own?
Came in on a cool cloudy morning to work. I listened to the torrential downpours all morning, then it cleared out. When I went out to the lot at quitting time, I was horrified to see the sunroof open. When I got in the car, it was dry, so sometime after the storms moved out, it got opened. I do leave the car unlocked, but can't imagine someone opened it, in fact I think you can't after the key has been removed for a while. Should I pull the fuse to it???

I parked my BMW X3 in my driveway yesterday and then went inside. I live in Oregon and it's been cold and raining for the last several weeks. When my wife and I went to get in the car about an hour later, we discovered that the sun roof and all four windows were wide open and the interior was soaking wet. I certainly didn't open the windows and sun roof. I've probably opened the sun roof once in the three years we've owned the car, and, with all the cold and rain the last several weeks, I've had no reason to open any of the windows. While the car was left unlocked, I did not leave my keys in the car and we live on a fairly private cul-de-sac. I'm baffled as to how this could happen and I can't even come up with a theory.

Phaeton :: Sunroof Opened Half Way By Itself
My sunroof ! I was leaving a parking garage and the thing just opened. I can't understand why. I closed it and it did it Again! Very strange. Phaeton has 90,000 miles and has been free of electronic issues for two years.

There were 2 times I'd noticed my sunroof opened vertically when I walked to my car without recalling ever opening it. I'd just think maybe I forgot to close it. When I looked at the knob, it wasn't switch to a level so i thought it was weird.
Today while driving, my sunroof did the same thing. It opened by itself. I didn't initiate it whatsoever.
Prius (2010-12) :: Parking Assist Failure - Getting Double Beep When Button Pressed
I took delivery of my new prius a few weeks ago and of course played around with the parking assist. However in the last few days when I press the button to start the process I simply get a double beep and nothing more happens.
I called the dealer and they don't seem to know what it is and so have booked me in to take a look at it.
