Passat (B5) :: 2004 - How To Take Out Headlight To Replace The Light
I don't have a passat (yet), but my friend has a 2004 (B5.5 I imagine) - headlight is out... how do I know if she has HID?
What guide should I follow to replace it? Do I need to take out the headlight to replace the light...?

Headlight bulbs. So I am looking to replace my bulbs because mine don't seem to have that great of light output. I am not sure if it is the actual headlight or if it is just the bulbs? Is it possible to just replace the bulbs and get better light output? I am not sure of the brand of headlights I have but I am pretty sure they are some cheap aftermarket ebay headlights. I want to replace the headlights in the future but for now I was wondering if I can get away with just replacing the bulbs. When selecting the bulbs, are they all pretty much universal or do I have to buy specifically for the type of headlights I have?

Is this any easier in my 2004 VW Passat than it was in my 2001 VW Jetta? In the Jetta, I had to disconnect the battery and dislocate my elbow and wrist in order to get my hand in the awkwardly placed compartment. Also, is it worth stepping up the original OEM to high intensity bulbs?

I have searched high and low, and I cannot find how to replace the factory low beam projector style headlight bulb on my wife's 2013 Tiguan SEL. It came with the factory LED style HID lights. There were a ton of videos and how to's for the regular Tiguan headlight replacement, and for aftermarket Ebay LED ones, but I can find anything about how to replace the factory low beam projector bulb, other than "take it to a dealer". My thinking is 'if the dealer can do it, so can I'! There has got to be a way. I can't get the wire bulb retainer loose, or get the bulb out of the headlight housing.

So... I found a pot-hole the other day and I'll be replacing the oil pan tomorrow. It's on a '00 Passat V6 FWD, any tips/tricks or things I should look out for? Do I have to drop the sub-frame, lift the engine, etc... what's the easiest way to go about this? I'll post pictures of the pan tomorrow, but here's a teaser:
Couldn't get underneath to see it yet, but I'm pretty damn sure there's a big hole. And hoping that's all it damaged.

I'm trying to replace the upper control arms on my wifes '00 Passat. I'm having trouble getting the bolt that holds both the upper ball joints to the upright (stearing knuckle, what ever you want to call it) out. I've tried the typical PB blaster, and heat approach. What I can't tell is if that bolt is treaded into part of the upright or not? Is this something I should just be able to punch out with a hammer?

Okay so yesterday I had to replace my battery because it died just when I was trying to leave for work. Got back on the road it everything was fine. Coming home last night I got a CEL, I figured it was my normal p2177 because of my Forge WINTake that I can't seem to find a fix for. I went to clear the code because I have a fulling loaded APR Stage 1 ECU. Now it won't clear. So this morning I attempted to change programs and it won't change. Should I just go have it reflashed?

Need to replace the clutch on my wife's 2001 AWM. Its for her, no mod's, driven daily to work etc. I just want a stock style replacement that will last as long as the original (165k). The driver's side low beam lamp on my 2006 3.6L stopped working. I bought an H7 from the dealer, but it did not light up. How hard is it to change the wiring harness, and how much should I expect it to cost for the dealer to replace? A local garage said it'd cost $115 to just run a diagnosis on the wiring.
