Passat (B6) :: Turning Off DRLs By Pulling Out Switch On Dash?

I'd like to turn off my drl's.....getting new front bulbs and going to install some led's to use as drl's. Up to now, I've only read about using VAG-COM to turn off. I just came across a YouTube demo about turning off drl's by pulling out switch on dash, disconnecting switch from connector and bending down a prong inside the connector. Sounds and looks simple. I haven't seen this method written up on Vortex before....

Passat (B5) :: 2001 - Won't Start Properly - Electronics Are Not Working

My car is a 01 b5.5 1.8t 5 sp manual transmission. it has 170xxx miles on it and for some reason, it won't start. last year I had some trouble with it where it would either start right up, or nothing at all, and it's doing it again, except now it just won't start at all. you turn the key, the battery engages, and all the electronics work (aside from the power windows, and sunroof), but there's not even an effort by the engine. it's like I didn't even turn the key. All last week, it was doing it, but I would just disconnect and reconnect the battery and it was fine. yesterday morning it just stopped trying. What could be the issue? it's really weird....also before this, I've been having a lot of trouble with once the cars been running for about 5 minutes or so, the power windows and sunroof decide to not work. but when I turn the car off and back on their fine. its odd. also, the alarm horn will honk randomly a single time. my electronics are all messed up

Passat (B5) :: 2001 - Cluster Warning Lights Come On - A/C Stops Working?

I have a 2001 Passat GLX. On occasion (usually when it is hot) the cluster will reset as if the key was cycled while you are driving. All the cluster warning lights come on, the needles drop to zero, and the trip odometer resets.

When the is occurring it also seems that the A/C stops working and the the car will tend to lock itself and set the alarm. Well except the driver's rear door doesn't actually lock.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: 2003 - Blinkers Not Working But Hazard Lights Working Fine

I have a 2003 santa fe and the blinkers are not functioning but the hazard lights are working fine. I checked the fuse and that is fine. Is there someway I can take apart the handle assembly where the switch for the blinkers are? Also, sometimes they would work and other times they wouldn't so that seems like a loose connection somewhere. The indicators for the blinkers on the dash do not work either so there has to be a problem giving power to the switch.

Golf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Turning DRLs Off

I have a 2011 GTi, and I'm sure this has been gone over many many times, but I need to be honest, with work and trade school and lack of a good smartphone I have no time to search this on vortex. I just want to know how to turn my DRLs off on my GTi, its the sunroof nav package with BI Xenons. I think I heard you need to use VAG COM to load some special code, and that's about all I heard. So where to get it to turn these off.

Golf IV R32 :: Both Of DRLs Burn Out At Same Time

So, just recently i had both of my DRLs burn out. They both burnt out at the same time which I thought was weird but I thought that it was because of how cold it was here that it may have happened that way. So, I bought new ones and replaced one side and went to check it, nothing. Took it back out, checked the connections and reinstalled it. Nothing again. I looked at the fuses but didn't notice any blown ones so I am stating to think it is a head light switch.

TrailBlazer :: 2002 - DRLs Stay On After Car Is Turned Off?

I have a 2002 Trailblazer and recently noticed that the DRLs stay on after the car is turned off. The also stay on when the headlight switch is set to "off". I replaced the headlight switch and that fixed the problem for about a day and now the DRLs stay on after the the car is off again. All of the head/tail/stop/bright/turn light functions work properly otherwise -- only the DRLs cannot be shut off. !

Camry 2012+ :: Installing DRLs In Different Position?

I don't like how they aren't in the middle of the slots of the front bumper. Where the chrome strips are. I wish they were in the middle of that, instead of towards the outside.

In this video the technician shows that there are holes that you need to drill. This allows you to fasten the DRLs to the bumper.. can I drill the holes in the middle? Would it look stupid up close?

Golf V R32 :: Water In Relay Now A6 DRLs On Constantly

Took the R in the touchless car wash Monday night and immediately drove home and parked in my garage. I went in to eat and came back out into the garage about 2 hrs later and noticed my replica A6 DRLs were on. I noticed that when I shook the wiring they would flicker but stayed on. I took off all the electrical tape and noticed water had somehow made it's way into the relay. I blew air on the relay and the receptacle. I then greased up the relay prongs and plugged it back in and shook the wiring again and the lights still flickered and stayed on. I pulled the relay to keep the DRL off so they wouldn't kill my battery. Hopefully when I plug the relay back in tonight, all the moisture will have dried up and the DRLs will only light up on ignition as their supposed to.

My question is: How do I keep moisture from getting into the relay in the future? I thought it was very well taped up with electrical tape, but water still managed to make it to the relay. I was going to reluctantly wrap the works with Saran Wrap and tape up the ends but that's the kind of ghetto fix that I usually stay away from.
