Avalon 2005-12 :: Steering Wheel Vibrates When Stopped With Brakes At Red Light
For as long as I remember (40000+ KM), I've noticed that my steering wheel vibrates when stopped with the brakes and in D. ie, while stopped at a red light. It immediately goes away when I lift off the brake or put the car into neutral.
The vibration isn't crazy. I can only feel it through the steering wheel or touching around it. However, it is certainly very noticeable and also audible.
Have this vibration through the steering wheel? (Avalon V6) I'm hoping this isn't a defect in the car...

Just bought a L/Certified pre-owned 2013 ES 350. I am shocked at how much the car vibrates and noise increases when stopped at a light or stop sign. I tried a 2015 ES 350 and the same thing occurs!! The dealership technician says everything is operating "to specification". This is a disgrace for such a high-tech, luxury car.

I have a Subaru Outback '03 wagon. About 4 months ago, I had a new driver side front axle installed. Right after that, when my car was stopped at a light, and my foot was on the brake, the car would have a vibration from the front end, I took the car back to the place that did the work, they checked the work don, and also the engine mounts, and bearings, and anything else they could check. They couldn't find anything wroing at that time with the car. I then took the car to another dealer who said the same thing, although he did not do a thorough inspection of the care.
I just had my oil changed, and took the car back to the orignal mechanic, and he checked the car out again as a courtesy, with the same outcome. They can't find anything wrong. The care still vibrates when I am stopped and in drive, but when I take my foot off the brake, the vibration dissipates a littel, and when I put the car in neutral or park, it goes away completely . I am hesitant to take it to the dealer and spend lots and lots of money to diagnose. The previous two mechanics said I should not be worried about the car's drivability, just wait and see what happens, although this vibration bothers me.
Passat (B6) :: 2000 VR6 - Key Fob Stopped Unlocking Doors
I just bought a mint '08 Passat VR6 4motion sedan with only 40k miles on it a month ago and it is my first VW. I can't believe that I waited this long to own one. That being said I do have a few questions about it.
My keyfob stopped unlocking my doors yesterday but it will still start the car. I changed the battery and it worked once to lock and unlock the car but when I went to unlock the car an hour later it didn't work again.
Also yesterday when I went to start the car it said service now! on the vis screen. Does it say this when the car is due for an oil change every time? I didn't buy it from a VW dealer so I don't know if the computer was reset after the last oil change. It was bought from a different brand dealer.
I also want to know if the car has to be serviced every 10k miles by the dealer, this is quite a bit more than any other car that I have ever owned.

While I was driving my 2000 Passat GLX last night, i noticed that the windows and the inside lights stopped functioning. When I reached home I also noticed that the car was not responding the remote lock either. This morning, I tried to start the car but there was no response from the engine although all the panel lights were on!

I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent GL. I just bought this car for my son & noticed that the car vibrates (and by car, I mean steering wheel & entire vehicle) while in park and also while in drive but at a stop. I took it for a drive and it drove very smooth. It shows no signs of needing any wheel alignments and the tires all look to be worn evenly and are about 75% worn I would guess. I ran quiet and did not vibrate any during the test drive, other than while at a stop. On my way home, I was on the freeway and I noticed as I approached speeds of 54 mph the vehicle started to vibrate again. When I accelerated to speeds of 56 mph, the vibration was very bad, so I decided it was best to take surface streets. It felt to me as if a tire was out of balance. I tried to determine what side of the vehicle the vibration was coming from, but could not appropriately determine that.

I have a 2000 Ford Focus that vibrates more at idle. The previous owner replaced the top passenger side motor mount when I bought it in Nov. I just replaced the bottom and then the other top drivers side mount two days later. 75% improvement but I wonder if there is some thing in the engine like an adjustment of some kind. I have only had it a couple months so I don't know when the last time it had a tune up. I can replace the spark plugs my self but would need a computer diagnosis to determine if there is something else that needs some adjustment of replacement.

I have a 2000 Nissan Quest. At 58MPH a vibration begins and shakes enough to make faster driving unpleasant. Have replaced motor mounts, all four wheel bearings, all four brakes, front rotors, rear drums, struts, rear shocks, tie rod ends, ball joints, steering rack, control arms and all 4 tires which have been balanced and checked several times. All of these parts had been worn and in need of replacement, the vehicle has 170K. The only thing I have not repaired is the rear stabilizer bar link bushings. The van drives beautifully at 55mph or lower. Has been a real puzzle and continues to be...Have noticed that when there is weight in the rear, or going uphill the vibration is subdued and even disappears...

I had the battery checked. Good battery. No codes via regular obd 2 scanner.
2002 passat B5.5 1.8t 5speed.
2x while stopped downhill it shutdown.
Also sometimes has hard starts.
when that happens I get the EPC light light up.
cel is on anyway from p0420 (cat)
If I shut it down and turn it on, maybe after 2-3 tries itll come on. What could it be?
Passat (B6) :: Airbag Light Came On - Horn Stopped Working?
Last week I got the airbag light up on my dash board. Then, my horn stopped working along with the radio controls. Now they are telling me its not being covered because of my aftermarket modifications. Now my aftermarket modifications are the following done through Vag-Com: DRLs disabled for HIDs, Remote up/down for windows.
So they are telling me they can not communicate with the module. Correct me if I'm wrong here, and I most likely am since I don't know much about this, but aren't they unable to connect to the module because.... it's defective?
Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2002 - Engine Vibrates Harsh At Idle
I just replaced the front and back motor mounts on my 02, 1.6 automatic accent. The front replacement mount was 1/2 inch too wide at where the bolt goes through, but made do. Now, the idle, but that's it. Before, it was vibrating somewhat at idle and lots of steering wheel vibration at highway speed. Now, I have no vibration of the wheel at highway speed, so it's like I eliminated one problem and made the other worse. I am hoping that the mount being too wide is the problem as I ordered the correct one. While taking it apart, I also noted the bolt through the front motor mount is incredibly small compared to the hole and this was true on both the original and the too big replacement. Why is this? Assuming that I swap out the too big mount for the proper and it still vibrates, than what?

Weird problem on my Passat today. First the engine light came on...followed by rough idling. It smooths out when moving, but rough again when stopped. Noticed that turning ON the AC makes it a little smoother...but when you turn off the AC, resumes the rough idle.
Already made an appt with the dealer tomorrow...but wanted to see if this problem is familiar to other owners. Either way, I will update once the dealer finishes diagnosing the problem.
The car has been perfect up to 30k miles...now 2 problems in the last month.
Passat (B5) :: Vibrates When Accelerate Happens At 40 Mph Then At 70 Mph
How come when I accelerate, my passat starts to vibrate? It happens at 40mph then at 70mph. usually when it's under load, like going up a hill or incline, or when i overtake someone. It feels like a rotory type vibration. I recently got new tires and waiting to get an alignment and wondered if the alignment could cause this. Also, the vibration has been there before the tire swap.

bought new Michelin primacy tires about 6,000 miles ago. Had the wheels rotated at the 60,000 mile service and now the front end vibrates at speeds over 70mph. I brought the tires back and had them re-balance and it seems to have made the problem worse.
