Passat (B5) :: Putting A Climatronic System In The Car

I have a passat B5 2.3 VR5 with aircondition and I have been thinking about to build a climatronic system in the car I did have a climatronic in my old passat B5 V6 TDI and I was so happy about it, The refit part are not the hardest thing, but what about the wiring part? do people rebuild their own wiring system, or is there made a wire kit to the climatronic system.

Passat (B5) :: Climatronic System Not Blowing Heat

I noticed about a week ago (on a cool morning) that my Climatronic system would not blow heat. I played around with it briefly by adjusting the temp settings and how the blower was working.

If I set the temp to High heat would blow out for like a minute but anything else would just blow cold air.

If I set the temp to High and turn Econ on I would get hot Air.

No other settings would generate heat. I VAG Commed my car and there were not fault codes!!!

I took my car to my normal indie shop and they also were puzzled by this. They re-ran a vag com and nothing for them either. The heater core was flushed recently with the resting of my coolant system when my TB was done.

There is no sign of leakage for the heater core but I'm super puzzled to what the problem may be.

Passat (B5) :: Clicking In The Dash / Climatronic Died

Halfway into a 2 hour trip away from home my climatronic died. The display is blank and no air is moving through any of the vents. This was a big problem since I encountered a heavy rainstorm and my only means of clearing the windshield was my handkerchief. I checked the fuse and it seems fine. There was clicking in the dash prior to this happening. I looked at the relay and it seems fine but I wouldn't know what a "bad" relay looks like.

Passat (B5) :: Climatronic / AC Failure For No Real Reason

My climatronic/air conditioning just failed on me for no real reason that I can tell. It was working perfectly this morning.

Now, the system blows only warm air, and on the display where it *should* say the outside temperature, it displays "--0" and then the Celsius sign.

This is a 2002 GLX 4mo, if that makes a difference.

Passat (B6) :: 2006 Climatronic - Cold Air Is Just A Little Too Warm To Be Working Correctly

I have a 2006 Passat 2.0T (UK Model), and I'm having trouble with both the outside temperature reading and the climatronic's cooling ability. When I bought the car the air-con was blowing cold and warm air without any problems, but the "cold" air is just a little too warm to be working correctly. I've had the system re-gassed but this didn't solve anything.

As I said, all the features of the air-con work perfectly, it's just the cold air just isn't cold enough - so it seems to me that the compressor is working fine. Also, the outside air temperature reading on the MFD reads about 5-10 degrees too warm. Would this have anything to do with the air-con issue?

Passat (B5) :: 2000 - A/C Work Sporadically - Climatronic Use Outside Temp Gauge?

My climatronic has been goofy since I bought my 2000 v6 4mo. In the winter my heat never got really hot and now in the summer my A/C work sporadically. I had the thermostat changed along with the full timing belt service. I'm hoping I'll get full heat come september. My A/C, however works less and less often. The tech who did the timing belt change etc. said that there was a lot of pressure at the condenser, but that he thought a flap may have been stuck. he checked those and they are fine. The last two things he said should be checked are the external temp gauge(which is way off, reads 22'F when its like 85 out) or possibly I need a new climatronic head unit.

My questions are esentially these; Does the climatronic use the outside temp gauge to determine cabin temp? Do head units fail often? Are there temp sensors in the cabin other than those built into the climatronic head unit?

Passat (B6) :: Climatronic System Trying To Adjust Temps But Motor Making Tick Noise

So the problem seems to be the climatronic system is constantly trying to adjust the temperature but the problem is that the motors or servos are making an annoying ticking noise as it adjusts. I already had the blend door assembly replaced but the noise is still there. My Touareg has climatronic and doesn't make any noise, so don't believe I should be getting this noise in my Passat. Service advisor claims its normal to make some noise since his Passat does the same thing, but I don't buy that. So who has had the same issue and got it fixed properly? What did they replace?

Passat (B5) :: CEL Reset Not Working

So the CEL came on in my wife's b5 Passat after she topped off, which we now know not to do...and hasn't cleared on it's own after about 1000 miles of driving. So I performed the DIY reset found here: [URL] ....

to the detail, and kept the door open during ignition ON etc, and everything, even made sure to tighten the gas cap more than 3 clips as suggested, and it didn't reset. I did this multiple times and it is still on.

The radio presets are still there and weren't lost at anytime during any of the reset attempts and the car is currently on empty (re-fuel light is ON) and I didn't drive it after reset attempts.

Golf VI R :: Climatronic Always Defaults To 72F?

Whenever I hit auto on the climatronic after the car has been off it always defaults to 72 degrees. I'm in South Florida, and I realize it's a little thing, but it'd be great if I could make it default to low right off the bat. Is this something Vag-com could be used to alter? Tried searching for this but couldn't find anything directly related.

Golf V R32 :: Climatronic Blows Hot Air

On start up, on the hot day, A/C takes 4-5 minutes of driving before starting to cool. Not much cold air coming out once it get's going to.... IF Climatronic is switched OFF, then as you drive you can feel hot air coming out from vents and actually fogging up windscreen on the rainy day.

Tiguan :: Climatronic - Turn On Without AC

For the greater part of the year I don't use the A/C in the car. I find it frustrating that when I want the fan or some heat the A/C will kick in when I press the Auto button. I turn the Climatronic off when I drive with the windows or top down (sunroof in the Tiguan) and it seems silly to have the A/C cycle on for the few seconds it takes me to reach over to press the A/C button to turn the compressor off. I read the manual and checked options in VAG COM but couldn't figure out how to get it to not do that. I accidentally figured it out yesterday.

If you want to go from Off to Auto without activating the A/C compressor, don't press Auto; press Off. Yes, that's counter-intuitive because it's already off. But pressing Off turns the Climatronic on in the auto mode but does NOT automatically turn on the A/C compressor. At least that's how it works in my 2012. And yes, I do run the compressor at least once every month, even in winter, to keep the system lubricated.

Passat (B5) :: How To Reset Check Engine Light

After I finally got around to replacing my ABS pump I went to get my smog check done. Passed except I didn't drive enough miles to qualify. The SMOG tech told me to drive 150 miles and come back. I drive the 150 plus miles and within that time my check engine light comes on. I go to the shop and have it reset.

How many miles do I have to drive the car after a Check Engine Light reset in order to qualify for a Cali SMOG Check.
