Lincoln - Towncar :: Engine Clicking And Vibrations?

I have a 2006 Lincoln zephyr. 3.0l v6. With fwd. I bought the car off Craig's list, from a private owner.

When I got it, back brakes were complete crap. Looks like never changed. Put on new rotors, new pads. The car was still vibrating, and making noises from the tires. Changed front brakes and rotors. Car was jerking when braking or at really slow speeds (0-15mph) even the jerking goes away, the vibration was still there. Went to ntb today, they changed my oil, rotated tires, and balanced front tires. The jerking gradually got better, I can't say it's there at all. As for vibration, still there, and tires in back are still a little loud. Someone told me my rim is bent? That does sound like something that could be causing this?? Another thing I have noticed is that the jerking in the car and the vibration get worse after driving for a while or when my sound system has been on for a while. Another thing today, after the oil change, I got home, and noticed a clicking sound coming from the engine. Seems as if the clicking starts after the car has been driven a little bit, then stays on until you turn it off and let it sit for a while

What it could be? IS MY CAR drive able?

LS / MKZ :: Lincoln 2004 V6 - Engine Cylinder 1 And 2 Misfired With Computer Scan

My Lincoln LS 2004 V6 3.0 has check engine light flash. It says the Engine Cylinder 1 and 2 misfired with computer scan. I know the cylinder 1 is in the front of passenger side, but I do not know where the cylinder 2 is. If it is in the rear of cylinder 1 on passenger side, and I want to change the cylinder 2 ignition coin pad, do I need to remove the engine part on top it?

Lincoln - Navigator :: Value Of SUV With High Miles / Engine Shut Down Without Warning

I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator with 156K miles. The engine shut down without warning. Towed it to the nearest Ford dealership. They could not find any codes from the computer, but note that compression was lost in the left cylinder bank. The mechanics said the likely cause is a cracked cylinder head and this known to occur in my model year.

Lincoln - Towncar :: Check Engine Light Came On - Emission Leak

1997 Lincoln Town Car, We had an accident three years ago in which the right rear wheel was destroyed and the axle bent. They were replaced. . Shortly afterwards the check engine light (emission leak) came on. My local mechanic thought he found and repaired the problem. It came on again. We changed the gas cap. No dice. The local Lincoln dealer did a smoke test and decided the problem is the SOLENOID ASSEMBLY CANISTER VENT. But the part is obsolete. An after market part did not solve the problem and neither did a used part the dealer installed. The car operates normally but I won't be able to pass inspection.

Lincoln :: 1964 - Intermittent Engine Knock On Driver Side

I have a 1964 Lincoln Continental convertible that has an intermittent engine knock on the drivers’ side; it isn’t there when the engine is cold and does it only sporadically when it’s hot. The car was not driven for many years; when I bought it in 2010 the plates on the car expired in February 1974.

I’ve tried high octane fuel, lead additives, and heavier motor oil; the problem is a little better, but it still happens. What the cause and the solution is?

Lincoln - Continental :: 2000 - Horrible Grinding / Rubbing Noise As Soon As The Engine Started

I own a 2000 Lincoln Continental and the other day it started making a horrible grinding/rubbing noise as soon as the engine started. I took it to my mechanic (been going to him for 6 years) and he said it was the Air Conditioner Compressor (specifically the clutch) was causing the noise and needed to be replaced.

If I remember correctly (I do not have any kind of documentation in front of me), the AC unit is at the bottom of the engine... Which could cause some issues. My question is, how easy/difficult is this to fix myself?

C/K :: 1989 CEL Comes On As Engine Gets Warm

I have a 1989 Chevy C1500 w/ 350, T.B.I, Automatic Trans, Mileage = High, that keeps throwing the Trouble Code 13.

I can crank the truck and drive it and it runs great BUT as soon as the engine gets warm(5 -10 miles) the Check Engine Light comes on and I can tell a noticeable difference in power (loss). I have to press a little more on the gas pedal to maintain my current speed. As you know a Code 13 indicates a faulty O2 Sensor, I replaced it with NO LUCK.

Could I have bought a faulty O2 Sensor? I checked the voltage of the wire coming from the ecm with the switch in the on (not running) position and I got a voltage of 1.5volts. All this started all of a sudden after I done a complete tune-up on the engine.

New Plugs,Wires,Cap,Button,PCV,Air Filter,Oil and Filter, New Thermostat and Gasket.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: VR6 Won't Start When Engine Is Warm

Mmkay.. 2000 GTI VR6.. Will start initially, when engine is cold (sat overnight, or through the work day) but once the engine is at normal running temp, if you shut it off, it wont start. Acts like its out of gas.. have to "prime" and keep hitting the gas pedal while cranking, to (sometimes) get it to start when warm, and then it runs like crap until I get a few miles down the road.

Brand new plugs and wires, and just this evening, pulled a plug, and its obviously fouled, and covered with unburnt gas. Coil Pack maybe?

Golf VI R :: Lope In Idle When Engine Is Warm

Here's what's done to the car so far:

Evoms CAI

Autotech HPFP Insert

UM Fully Loaded Stage 2

Magnaflow Catback

R8 Coilpacks

Now my problem lies in the fact that the car has an unusual "loping" idle once it's warmed up. I noticed it very slightly when I first installed the catback simply because that exhaust is louder than stock. Now with the tune it seems to be even more noticible and ocasionally the engine will stumble upon a warm startup. I've pulled up VCDS and looked at the timing measuring blocks during idle and it varies between 0 and 13.5 BTDC/ATDC, the lowest the revs go is about 700 and the the car idles most of the time at about 800. A few hundred miles ago there was a code for Fuel pressure too high (P0088) and an o2 sensor reading too rich (P2271), I saved said codes and cleared them and they have not returned.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Slow Warm Up Of Engine

In the winter, it takes a long time to warm the engine. It took me 10 minutes to reach 3 bars on the thermostat gauge. After 15 minutes, if finally reached 4 bars(5 bars is normal operating temp). When I stopped on idle in a drive-through, it went from 4 bars to 2 bars. I have driven several cars and I have never seen a car decrease in temperature when it is running, even on idle.

Do Elantra do this?

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Warm Engine Stalls

Have a problem with my Santa Fe. 2004 2.4l.

My wife drove the car when the problem first appeared. She had been driving for 30 min, roughly 30km, and the car looses power and stops. Won't start when she tries. It cranks but won't fire up. When she waits for a minute it fires up but stalls.

We took it to a workshop. No code. They changed the fuel filter, which hadn't been changed for a long time.

They took it for a drive and it worked fine. I picked it up and it was working. Then it died when I exited the highway. It had lost some power during a second while still on the highway. I had driven it for roughly 30km and the engine was hot. Again, was able to start it it up for a couple of seconds if I let it cool for a couple of minutes. Got a lift home and returned in the evening and it started on the first try.

Took it to work the next morning. Wouldn't start in the afternoon when it had been standing in the sun and was gazing hot. Opened the fuel cap to release any vacuum. No change. Again started when I returned this morning and it wasn't very hot.

The engine warning lamp hasn't light up. Will try to see if there is a fault code tomorrow. Will try to measure the fuel pressure eventually.

The valve position sensor and timing belt was changed a year ago.

GMC - Sonoma :: 1992 - Won't Start When Engine Is Warm?

Car: 1992 GMC Sonoma 2.8L Manual,
Miles: ONLY 197,000 miles...

Symptom: Sometimes won't start (not even turn over) when engine is warm. It doesn't die or anything it just won't start if i've been driving for more than an hour and I say, stop to get gas or something. It doesn't make an sound, not even a click. This has only happened to me about 3 or 4 times in the last 6 months.

Fixes: I have not had a mechanic take a look at this yet. They usually complain about other things when I bring it in. Little things like "your brakes are almost gone" (big deal, I don't need breaks because it is a stick shift) or "your tires are showing their metal wire" (big deal, I've had a front tire blow out before at 70 mph... on this same truck come to think of it).

Current workaround : The following three things work to get it started every time:

1. A jump starts it right up
2. Push start starts up real easy (I've done it by my self on flat pavement
3. Wait for an hour or two (not always an option)

Feeble attempt to diagnose: My feeling is that the starter motor is beginning to go but are there other things that can cause this before I pour money into fixing the starter?
