There is apparently a rubber grommet in the driver's floorboard which can be used to snake the wire into the cabin. Where exactly is this rubber grommet on a 06 model? So i drove my car through a huge puddle and it stalled out on me! i pushed the car out to higher ground and let it sit. i started the car and it sounded horrible. checked the oil and no water is present on the dip stick. checked the coils and they are also dry. I deceided to check the spark plugs and once again dry. i took out the ecu to get it checked and once again they said it was dry.
I put it to the computer and I get random misfiring on cylinder 2 and 3. At time it fluctuates to 2 and 4.. I am at a stand still, what can this possibly be? White smoke does come out from exhaust but stops after a couple of mins. no smell to the smoke whatsoever so am guessing its just water stuck in the tailpipe.
The air filter was soaked and there was a lil water in the air intake i dried the filter and removed any moisture from the intake and still misfiring...
BTW its an 2007 ES350 ultra luxury edition

I've looked in the owner's manual, but only find that they exist, no instructions on turning them on. I know I can unlock the doors with the key fob at night and the lights will come on, including the puddle lights on the bottoms of the rear view mirrors. If I touch the door handles instead of using the key fob (my preferred method of unlocking the vehicle), the doors unlock, but the puddle lights do not come on.
I would also like to be able to turn them on when I am getting ready to exit the car, especially so the wife does not step in a puddle.
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Proximity Key Not Being Recognized
My '06 GS 300 recently had a dead battery. Due , I think, to the alternator going bad. After jumping the battery and attempting to drive it to a mechanic, the car quit running and I ended up having the car pushed the rest of the way. Now the proximity key is not being recognized to start the car. When I push the button once, the accessories come on; but when I push it the second time to attempt to start the car - nothing happens. The message "key not detected" appears. I have recharged the car battery and recently changed the small batteries in both of my proximity keys.........so that isn't the problem.

2008 GS350 Rwd ... Rear proximity sensor goes off the majority of the time when I go into reverse. And the it's cold or raining, front and rear go off occasionally even when driving. How to disconnect/ turn off sensors? I would rather go without then replace them.

I was driving in a heavy rain on Saturday and all of the sudden the proximity sensor just went off without anything even close proximity then the left blinker just went off by itself. I cut off the engine then restart couple of time but that didn't work. After 3 hours in the dealer, the mechanic still couldn't figure it out, they said they needed more time to trace the source of the problem. Electrical problem on my 13 RX350 FSport....

I just got myself 07 santa fe. Have small problem though. When I open the door interior lights are not going on, doesn't matter which door are open it is not working but I can turn them on manually, so fuse is fine I guess. What my be a cause of it?

I have 2007 Sonata GLS and have noticed on several (at least 6) occasions that the parking lights (front turn signal lamps and tail lights) as well as the instrument lights will stay on after turning off the car, removing key and locking it. Usually I flip the switch a few times and they'll go off and stay off. Today wasn't so easy. I'm guessing it's the switch but wanted to know if this is isolated case or more common before I take to Hyundai. The problem can't be "duplicated" when you want it to happen. Usually it's on colder mornings when coming to work.

My wife has been driving this Escape for about a year after driving one she inherited from her father to 162K miles. This one has just under 70K now.
In the last month or so, the interior lights have begun to come on and go off at will. It can happen going down the road, or sitting in the garage for hours. When it's running, the door chime may or may not sound. It sometimes comes on when it hits a bump, sometimes without one. I looked at it earlier, and the light was on. (I have turned the center one off. I don't see a way to turn off the front ones) An hour later the light is off. No one has been in the car since this afternoon.
She says the car is haunted, and is now calling it Casper, even though it's solid black.
I have tried the standard fix of lubricating the door latches several times. There are six latches including the rear hatch and rear window. I have used CRC electrical cleaner as well as subsequent doses of good old WD 40. I don't know if there is an easy why to tell which switch might be causing the problem, so I have taken the shotgun approach.
The two remaining bulbs are tiny, so the battery has not run completely down, YET. The car is driven almost daily, sometimes several times in a day. I'm beginning to think that the situation may not be caused by one of the door switches. What else can it be? Why does it cycle like that? I doubt that it's haunted.

Not sure if I want them under the mirror or under the car shining on the ground but I think it'd be neat to have white LEDs turn on when I unlock the car... Where I can get power? Something that comes on only when the car is unlocked. Only thing I can think of is the over head lights. I know there is an oem setup but I'm trying to make my own so I can decide if I like it or not w/o dropping a lot of $$$ on them.

This started yesterday. I parked the car, locked the door with the key in my pocket by pressing the button on the handle and the car beeped and locked. I came back that night and the puddle lights were still on. Figured it was a fluke, drove the car home and after being home for about 3 hours, looked out and noticed the puddle lights were still on. I tried locking and unlocking it, starting the car, everything. The lights never turned off.
