Prius C :: Daylight Running Lamp Using HID
I'm waiting for the 4300 HID kit to be delivered and just remember I've read somewhere that DRL is using low beam lamp at lower power: is HID running with low power possible or I can't use DRL anymore?

I rebuild my celica st182 end grinding(I'm not sure if that's the word) the crankshaft I put 1st repair bearings. Rebuild head and put new oil pump(from e-bay). I bought Eneos 15w40.After 1000km oil pressure lamp began to go off after 2 sec after I start the engine. That starts just when weather temperature rises to 30'C.Today I changed the oil filter and there was no leak from it(empty). What is the problem -oil filter.oil pump,crankshaft gaps or bad oil. When I tried to cut the ignition cable and run starter the oil lamp goes off(warm car). If the car is warm and turn off the engine and started it again lamp goes off immediately. If stays about 4 hours lamp goes off after 2 sec. Tomorrow I'll warm the engine and measure the oil pressure.

I have a blown LED on a 2007 LS460. Bought a set of the Stop Lamp and started to embark on my little DIY today.
Both side covers are held on by a little plastic hook underneath near the row of LED bulbs. Hence, you will have to press down firmly to unhook and slide the cover towards you and lift it up to remove. (watch my youtube link below).
The center piece is held on by 2 screws (nearer to the row of LEDs) and 2 plastic clips (nearer to the C-pillars). Remove the 2 thumb screws and the plastic clips (twist or turn them 90 degrees and they should come off easily). At this point, remember to unhook the plastic connector.
Replace the center Stop Lamp piece and install everything in reverse order.
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Led Parking Lights And Fog Lamp Blinking Very Low Light Entire Time
After taking my car to 2008 Lexus GS 350 AWD for an oil change and recall fix, I noticed my iJDMToy LED Parking Lights and Xentec HID for Fog Lamps have stopped working and just blink a very low light the entire time. The parking light starts working fine when the main head lights are off, but as soon as I turn them on, they start to blink again. The fog lamps just constantly blink at a low light level while on. Prius (2004-09) :: Malfunction Indicator Lamp Went On
My 2004 Prius won't start for the first time in its 45,000 miles. First try only the malfunction indicator lamp went on. After a pause and a few tries later, the fuel gauge and gear indicator cluster flashed on and off while I was attempting to start (fuel indicator racing across its grid and gear indicators outlined with "dotted" lines -- tank is 1/2 full BTW).
Later tries got no response except the malfunction lamp. I tried both keys in the ignition, also checked door lock functions, and found the keys will still lock the doors, but the click is noticeably weak and the unlock function doesn't work.

I have a 2008 Prius with about 34,000 miles. While I was driving yesterday the malfunction indicator lamp came on. I returned home (was 20 miles away), but did not notice anything wrong while driving. Thanks to Priuschat, I found discussions that said to check if the gas cap was on correctly; sure enough, mine was not on tightly. I've just put the cap back on, but when I started the car, the malfunction indicator still came on. Will the warning light clear on it's own (if the problem was the gas cap).

Yesterday (Saturday), I stopped to get gas in my 2004 Passat. I left the gas station and forgot to put the gas cap back on and close the gas cap door properly. I drove about 2 miles home and then noticed I had left it open so I closed it. I didn't drive the car anymore yesterday but then took it to church this morning and when I did, the malfunction indicator lamp (yellow light that looks like an engine) came and and remained on. I turned the car off and then restarted it and it remained on.
When I looked in the owners manual, it says this is related to the emissions system. On other cars I've owned, not having the gas cap on tight can cause the "check engine" light to come on so I'm basically assuming the equivalent happened here. Any way to turn that light off easily? I assume it would go out over time and/or the next time I get gas as has typically been the case in other cars I've owned (including a 2000 VW Eurovan). The car runs fine and doesn't seem to have any other issues or problems.

Whenever I stop the car I push the P button, and the push the foot parking brake, then I stop the car with the start/stop button. Yesterday I started the car, and forgot to push off the parking foot brake. I put the stick on D and then I started to roll, after two seconds I saw the red lamp on the dashboard telling me there's a problem, so I check and to my surprise I saw that the break was on.

In the past 2 weeks I've noticed the lights turn on in the daytime. I've tried switching to Off from Auto mode and back again. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I can tell because the nav screen has a black background (when lights are on) and white (when lights are off).

Just wanted to check my memory / mode of operation of instrument cluster illumination... I seem to recall that the main instrument cluster dials were illuminated at all times, ie full brightness during the day with the headlights off and with variable brightness at night with the headlights on - is this correct?
Reason for asking is that the main dials, speedo / rev counter are now dark when the headlights are off - this does not seem right as, in other than bright sunlight, the dials are very hard to read - centre LCD display remains back lit OK.
With headlights on, illumination works as expected - when headlights go off, the main dials stay illuminated for a fraction of a second and then dim to off.
Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Creaking Sound When Turning Left Or Right
2006 RX400h AWD. I've been experiencing a new and irritating creaking sound that happens when I'm turning left and/or right
The odd thing is that it sounds like it is coming from the center console. I've moved it all the way forward, all the way back and removed the contents of the console...no luck.
My searches didn't find anything close to my scenario. I know that there's a TSB for the front seat pins, but my sound isn't coming from the front seat.
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: 2005 - Clunk Sound While Turning To The Right?
My 2005 GX (108k miles) seems to be in great shape. When i replaced the front CV boots i looked carefully at all suspension components and i did not see anything damaged, loose or suspicious.
However, when the truck is SLOWLY moving (entering into my driveway or getting out of parking spot), and when i turn the steering wheel ALL THE WAY to the right, i hear and almost feel a single semi-loud clunk from under the car. I am 99% sure it is related to the steering movement. When the car drives straight or when i am making smaller turns on the street, there is no clunk, noise or vibration at all. I haven't noticed it during U-turns yet, but maybe i haven't paid enough attention. Something must be loose or worn out. The clunk is very obvious when it happens.
Where this could be coming from? Any well known weak components in the front suspension setup that may need attention at 108k miles? I am thinking about tie rod ends or sway bar links but i am not sure if a bad tie rod / link would produce such "clunk" when turning all the way.

I have an 08 prius with about 36k miles on it. Never had a problem other then getting the water pump replaced under warranty during scheduled maintenance.

In my 2015 T Spirit I use the Auto headlight feature but can't get my head around the customisable light sensitivity.
Headlights often stay on when it's full daylight but do I lower or raise the sensitivity to get them to go off earlier.
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Engine Revs Higher When Turning Compressor On And Off
I only use AC in the summer around here, not year 'round. When I turn it on, I notice that the engine revs higher when turning the compressor, which cycles on and off. It's only a few hundred RPM, but it's quite noticeable and will make the truck surge forward when sitting at a traffic light. The dealer says this is how the AC works on a GX, so I've gotten used to it.

I have a 2004 MY05 Jap built AWD RX330 that won't start. It is almost 12 yrs old & has 115k miles on it. This is the very 1st problem I've had with it.
Some quick checks indicate that it may be power supply to fuel pump or fuel pump itself. No sounds from it when turning ignition on.
Any wiring diagram for the 5 pin plug for the fuel pump? I'd like to put a meter on it or connect 12V to the pump directly before I remove it.
Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Headlight Output Low / Difficult To See Especially When Turning Corners
Just picked up a used 2009 RX350 and noticed the low beam light output is terrible. Very difficult to see, especially when turning corners. Also have a bit of fogging of the headlight assembly covers which I assume can be cleaned up. What is the easiest way to increase light output?
