Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Sunroof Randomly Opening When Driving
My Mom has an '04 RX330, and the other day the sunroof randomly opened, and she closed it with the button with no problem. For the last 3 days, this has occurred randomly (opening only - all closing is by her) and all occurrences are when she is driving (not parked).
I told her to wrap the fob in foil today to remove that connectivity and to see if the fob is to blame. We will replace those batteries anyway as I don't know that they have ever been replaced.
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Radio Switched From 107.3 To 107.1 While Driving
I have a 2005 GX470 with 28 k miles. Purchased in April 2005, so the original battery is just shy of 6 yrs old.
Recently, the radio has be acting funny. For example, if the radio is tuned to 107.3, left to sit over night, there is a good chance it will be tuned to 107.1 in the AM. My wife also reported that while driving to the store the other day, the radio switched from 107.3 to 107.1 out of the blue while driving.
I can assure you we're not inadvertently hitting buttons by accident or anything like that. I've also seen this scenario with other stations 105.9 to 105.7, etc, and thought this could be a strange sign the battery is becoming weak (realistically, I should have changed it a year ago anyway).
I'm not interested in having the radio pulled out or anything like that.

If i have the radio volume up fairly high, it will keep cutting off for a few seconds then come back on. then cut off again etc....
I presume the amp is getting hot and causing this, am I right? And would I need another amp, or maybe there is a fan in the amp not working? Or am I not even close? Its pretty annoying when that good song comes on and it cuts out.
Its not the actual radio that cuts off, its the sound from the speakers.
Lexus LS 2007+ :: Radio Randomly Shut Down And Turned Back On
Today as I was driving on the freeway my radio randomly shut down and turned back on. it was a complete power down as if I was turning the car on. I believe I seen the dash also do a system check. I also think I felt the power steering turn on and off for a split second. very odd. I almost feel the entire car shut down for a split second.

I have a 2004 V8 phaeton that has a radio and electronics that now have a mind of their own. The radio will come on randomly and can not be controlled. The main computer screen will sometimes not come on. On the screen in the instrument cluster it jumps between degrees F and C. I have replaced both batteries, done a static discharge and taken it to the dealer to have all of the codes cleared... Later that day it all came back... So I went to the dealer and they cleared the codes again. It is back again.

So my left headlight will randomly turn off while I am driving. If i turn off the lights and turn them back on its comes back on. Sometimes I have to do this a few times in order for it to work. What are possible issues that I could be having. Right now I am thinking it could be the ballast or the fuses. If the bulb had gone out it shouldn't be turning on at all right?

So I am experiencing a 2 -3 second "chime" sound randomly when driving. Some times its 2 chimes, others its 3 or 4 chimes.
So far it only appears to happen when moving at low speeds. There isn't an alert on the dash board. Also it sound like bells, its not the door open sound or the seat belt warning.
I thought at first I changed the sound of an incoming email/text but when I removed my phone from the car I was still getting the odd noise.
I've read through the manual and couldn't find anything. It seems to me there is a setting hidden someone where to turn this off.
2004 Sunfire Brakes Lock On Randomly While Driving
I drive a 2004 Sunfire and recently the brakes have started to just randomly "lock on" while driving. Upon visual inspection I noticed that the gasket for the brake fluid reservoir has holes in it - could the loss of vacuum in the brake system cause this? I have ordered a replacement gasket from Amazon. Seems that if I pull over, remove the reservoir lid and reseat the gasket, then let the car sit off for awhile it corrects itself. Before this started occurring I had the brakes visually inspected and the car test driven (unrelated) by a mechanic, and he said everything seemed fine.

My 2014 GX has been great except for one annoying problem; with BSM mode enabled, the passenger side BSM indicator randomly lights solid when driving down the road with NO vehicles around me (driver side indicator works perfectly 100% of the time). Does not appear to be correlated to temperature, day/night, humidity, speed, or conditions mentioned in the manual. Other current RX and GX owners I know don't seem to have the issue.
Can the BSM system be calibrated or is the detection program burned into the individual sensors and control module such that the system cannot be re-calibrated? Does a GX BSM system publication exist? I have several photos illustrating the problem. Reported to dealer. The dealers conversation with Lexus was that it is not a perfect system with no explanation as to why one side would have the issue but the other wouldn't. Below is the online reference that Lexus provides. The BSM feature is a very nice one except for this intermittent issue.

This is the second time this happened to me. First time was about two weeks ago where i was just driving and the car stalled. Tried to start but it sounded like it just wasn't getting fuel. Brand new battery, terminals are clean) Got it started and it was revving high like a cold start, normal but why after driving for 30 mins? EPC light came on also which was strange along with the CEL, a buddy checked the code and it was for the secondary air injection pump. (I have not had that go off in a while. Code po4011 secondary air injection. Had this issue a while ago with that code when i did a short ram intake. Tuner cleared it so i can pass emissions. ) Now today it died about 2 miles from my house. Same thing but no CEL. EPC light came on and car was revving high, luckily 3 cars behind my buddy was there and he give me a push into the gas station. Once again it wanted to start but i felt like no fuel. waited a few minutes and it started right up again until it almost died in my drive way. Cluster comes on when it dies. ignition is good.
My big question is the stalling part and the EPC light coming on, then the car revving like it is a cold start but not stopping? and i need this car to be working.
Ford - Explorer :: 2004 V6 Shuts Off Randomly While Driving Then Restarts
My friend has a 2004 explorer v6 150k miles. Randomly shuts off while normal driving just going down the road, and when you try to restart it it starts up and runs fine. This used to happen every few months and is getting more frequent. The only code it has is a lean code from the o2 sensor, I'm trying to get more info on that but it's been like that before this problem started and possibly just a bad o2 sensor. Where to start and any know issues that would cause this? Sounds like a wiring issue are there any spots in particular prone to chaffing?

The past couple of months my ABS light has been coming on randomly. It comes on after several minutes (or hours sometimes) of driving then stays on. I wrote it off as a bad sensor but now, even when under light braking, if I hit even a small bump in the road, I can feel the ABS activating in the pedal. Seems like more than a sensor to me. Having issues with their navigation screen in the '14 IS. Twice now in the last week, while driving, it has reset. The screen goes black, music/radio turns off, and then everything comes back up after a second or two like nothing happened. Also, probably just a coincidence, but both times it happened in roughly the same location on my drive to work.

04 with 170k miles. truck runs fine. every now and then truck shuts off while driving. turn it off the it restarts every time. Only code that comes up is number 6 injector. The contribution test injector is firing right. FICM voltage is 47.5. has new ipr and hpop also 6k miles ago. Could it be number 6 shorts out or something crazy killing truck? or maybe a crank sensor.

And the final piece, the alarm goes off three times no lights flashing then stops sitting in a garage, not outside. Is this a short ? I have two brand new batteries, new starter new altenator.

Have a 2007 GX 470 with 70,000 Miles. Recently we have had problems with the ignition getting stuck. Key will go in, but, will not turn. Happens randomly and unpredictably. Will start after a period of time. Sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes several hours. My not happen for a few weeks or sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. Neither Lexus or Toyota claims to have heard of this problem.
