Lexus RX 2010-15 :: 2013 RX350 - Footwell Lights Not Illuminate When Driving
Does the 2013 RX350 footwell lights not illuminate when driving as they did on previous models? I also do not see a light on the interior door handles.

The footwell lights come on when i open the door to get into the car and then go off after a short period of time. However, they will stay on all the time after the car is started. Is that normal? Can they be turned off when the engine is running? The manual is no support.

After taking my car to 2008 Lexus GS 350 AWD for an oil change and recall fix, I noticed my iJDMToy LED Parking Lights and Xentec HID for Fog Lamps have stopped working and just blink a very low light the entire time. The parking light starts working fine when the main head lights are off, but as soon as I turn them on, they start to blink again. The fog lamps just constantly blink at a low light level while on. Golf/GTI VI :: Brake Lights Staying On All The Time
My brake lights are staying on all the time. I changed my brake light switch. This did not work. I took it to the dealer and they could not figure out what was causing this. They felt it could be a wire which might take them 10 hours to trace down @ $95 an hour. I don't understand how a wire could do this.

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 4X4 extended cab with short box with a 5.3L. A couple weeks ago I noticed that my brake lights were staying on all the time. I removed the fuses for the trailer left and right lights and the brake lights went out. due to the holidays I haven't had time to find out why the lights were staying on.
Today I noticed that my 3rd brake light was staying on all the time, even with the truck off, and no one in the truck, and my electric brake controller inside the cab was on. I unplugged the controller from the fuse panel and the controller light went out but the 3rd brake light was still on. I couldn't find a fuse, so I removed the bulbs. Where I would start to find the problem.
Elantra GD (2013+) :: ABS / Trac Lights Staying Lit Until Shut The Car Down
I have a 2016 Elantra GT with less than 1000 miles on it and I just started coming across an issue yesterday. I have had my ABS and trac light kick off on me and stay lit until I shut the car down, then it will start back up with no issue. I don't have a compatible scanner to pull the codes so I am not sure what in the system is kicking the light.
Its random when happening and I double checked that my wiring was all hooked up properly from the factory on all items included in the circuit. I also checked the wheel bearings just to rule out possibly having a bad one which I would find hard to believe with under 1000 miles on it even if faulty.
Are there any common issues with the ABS, traction, or stability control systems on these cars that people have come across? Obviously I'm under warranty so I'm not worried about getting it fixed.
Lexus RX 2010-15 :: 2013 - ABS Malfunction / Lights Coming On While Driving
I have a 2013 RX and the other day experienced the ABS Malfunction lights coming on while driving on the fwy. The error went away when I turned off/on the car. I did take my car in last April to get the recall fix on this error (which was just a software update apparently).
The dealer is saying that they will do the diagnostics, but if they can't find anything, then there's nothing else they can do AND I'm responsible for a $175 diagnostic fee. Perhaps I have unrealistic expectations, but I don't feel that I should have to pay $175 for them to do the diagnostic work since the error did occur.
Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2007 - Consistent Creaking Entire Time When Wheels Are Pivoting
'07 Elantra GLS, around 150000 km, predominantly urban usage (city / highway).
I hear a creaking noise when I turn the steering wheel to the left or right. The creaking is consistent the entire time the wheels are pivoting. Sometimes I hear the same creak when the body pitches during acceleration or deceleration. It seems to be more prevalent once the car is warmed up (after driving a few km) vs. when it's cold. There's also a bit of a dead zone in the steering control, you need to turn the wheel slightly (to the first creak) before the wheels react.
The sway bars were replaced around 6 months ago, as they had some play in them which could be heard when passing over a bump. The driver's side CV is also less than a year old. The external steering components (ball joints / sway bars / outer CV arms) appear to be in good repair with no play that can be attributed to the creaking.
My mechanic (independent - I tend not to go to my local dealer whenever possible) thinks that there is some play in the linkage between the steering column and the rack-and-pinion - the exposed universal joint behind the brake pedal does have a little bit of a wiggle to it. The noise appears to be coming from there, you can hear the creaking in the cabin as you turn, but outside, you can't really hear the creaking. He's also of the opinion that this is a very unusual symptom given the age of the car.
Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell
Ok first there was the "Creaking Dash Rattle", now comes the front seat flood! It has rained for two days and water, lots of it, comes pouring out onto my mats on the passenger side when I make a hard left turn. At least 8 ounces!!! I don't have a sunroof. My carpet and mats are soaked. After I shop vacuumed the water out I took it to the dealer...just like the dash rattle he'd never heard of this problem. I told him maybe my rubber dash rattle wedge caused the problem? He said, I'd have to bring the car back and he was going to remove the shroud? (They're just dying to break into my dash). It looks like the glove compartment is taking a leak on the passenger's carpet.
Also My Bluelink can't be registered because someone before me registered it ON MY NEW CAR...and I am starting to wonder if this was a hail damaged car improperly repaired? i.e. leaks and windshield rattle. I bought it off of the showroom floor and assumed it was new but when I drove it away I saw 200 miles on the ODO. Don't say it I know I screwed up.
Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Water Dripping In Driver Footwell
Twice now, I've felt a cold drop of water, drip onto my foot while driving the wife's new 2014 2.0T. She's never mentioned it but she also doesn't wear sandals so she may never feel it. The carpet is not wet there, so whatever it is, it's not enough to soak the floor. It was dry out so it's not rain or car wash, but I was running the AC on both occasions, but I couldn't imagine anything AC related above the drivers footwell? I'm sure the dealer will not be able to recreate the problem so I'm likely stuck dealing with it myself...

I am coming out of a loaded Treg that had its footwell lights on low while driving the car, which I really liked. While my new B6 also has footwell lights they turn off once the car is started up. Happened today during the snow storm. I never drive in auto when it's snowing. I usually use the first 3 gears to get around, this allows me to engine brake, which reduces the slipping and sliding greatly.
Anyways, today my car ( after 3 winters and many snow events ) decided to disable the 1st gear ??? I have tried turning the snow mode on / off as well as the VSC , but the car would not give me the 1st gear back
Eventually it released it and I was a happy camper again. Below is the message I was getting every time I tried to down shift.

I've got a 2012 GTI, About two weeks ago I noticed that my footwell lights are now coming on whenever my headlights are on. All the rest of the time, they seem to operate normally. I'm not sure if they've always done this, and I've just never noticed before, or if I've got an electrical problem. I went so far as to actually RTFM, and there's no mention of any separate controls or settings for the footwell lights.
