Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Oil Pressure Warning Light After Driving For About 15 - 20 Minutes
I have a mk4 Jetta 1.8t. Problem started last night. After I drive for about 15-20 minutes the oil pressure warning light comes on. It doesn't feel any different and my oil is full. Could my pump be going bad? I hear a slight tick near the bottom of the engine on the passenger side. But the car idles fine and drives fine too.

I bought my GTI used and don't know what software its running but I have some questions about the boost pressure. When I'm in Idle the car will only boost to about 7-10psi when i rev the engine in neutral, But when I'm driving it will boost all the way to about 17-20psi if I really stomp it, 15psi if I'm just giving it a bit of "go". The car takes off and goes really quick, seems like it has a lot of power so I doubt there's a boost leak but I'm wondering does the car boost differently in Idle because it knows its not moving?

Why my 2002 Jetta 1.8t does this?
After I drive for a while I have to [slowly] open the overflow cap and relieve pressure in order to not lose coolant while the car sits. It steams for a bit when I open the cap and then the coolant rises in the reservoir then I close it.
If I don't do this then the car loses coolant but I don't see any leaks visible under the car.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: ASR Light Permanently On / ECP Turns On And Car Goes Into Limp Mode

When I start my car the ASR light is already on and I cannot turn it off by hitting the button. It's just permanently on. Then as I start to drive and step on the throttle and get above 3000rpm the ECP light turns on and my car goes into "limp mode". Then in idle the engine stutters and RPMs go up and down, up and down. I'll turn off the car and the ECP light disappears but comes right back on again after getting above 3000rpm.
Thing is, these issues only appeared immediately after the following:
-Disconnected and reconnected CCM (checking for faulty wiring, battery was connected during this)
-Disconnected battery terminals for 3 minutes and reconnected them (no key in ignition)
Did I cause an issue by disconnecting battery?
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2003 - When Battery Light Turns On Then Car Shut Off?
Was driving just a few hundred feet up the road to local mini mart. On the way home after pulling out of the shop, my battery light flickered once and twice before staying on. I circled around the block to see if it would go away, but it was still on when I parked in my driveway. I noticed a ticking noise in the engine bay, but decided to turn it off.
About 10 minutes later, I turned the car back on. Battery light still on, noise still evident in the bay. I popped the hood and it's coming by the serpentine belt. That seemed to be running fine over there and couldn't see anything that looked out of the ordinary. I went in the car to rev up the engine a bit and turn on my lights, and that's when the symptoms got weirder. My RPMs jumped to about 1,000 and stayed there (even when I let on the gas a bit); my blowers would work (but not the screen showing the temp); CD player turned off; and I got a cluster full of lights on my dash. The car would idol rough when turning lights on and off.
It eventually shut off, and now there is no crank or nothing. All lights still work, alarm works, but no turn over or clicking. I'm going to try and get it jumped when able to, but I'm not sure what the problem could be. I can't find the exact paperwork, but I had the alternator replaced at around 85,000 miles.

the oil pressure light comes on for a year now I will pop on, on hot days, when I go into low rpm like coming off the high way or stuck in traffic. I changed the op switch and put 10w40 in with no luck.

So I'm having some problems with the oil pressure warning light beeping at me. First time it came on I stopped immeadietly, checked the oil and it was fine. (I just changed it when I got it) so I started it up again and it was fine for a few days. Then it came on again Real quick then went off. Now it comes on once or twice every trIp. I've replaced the switch already but it was still coming on so I installed an oil pressure gauge and I've confirmed my suspicions that the engine is indeed not loosing pressure. It sits at about 30ish at idle and goes up to aboit 50to 60 while driving 2-3k rpm. Yet the Damn oil light keeps blIbking. I'm assuming it has a wiring problem. Is there a way to shut this up or do I have to trace wires til I find the prob

I got a feeling of dread when that light came on, luckily I was a block from home so I shut it off and pushed it home. I had a local VW mechanic come look at it the next morning, only the light wasn't on anymore there is a loud humming coming from the top of the engine, the head as it were, as if high RPM, but no clanking or metal on metal grinding. Does it spell game over?

My oil pressure light is blinking and there is a faint smell of burning oil. I recently had an oil change after letting my car sit for 5 months after the oil pan was replaced. I have checked oil levels and it is just right. I have asked around and everyone comes up with a different answer but they also say they are guessing due to lack of experience with VW's. The light only comes on when the car is moving. When idling, everything appears to be fine.

2002 jetta GLS 2.0 ... I am looking to change my oil pressure sender/switch but I cannot locate it, my oil light blinks every now and then, I was told the senders go bad often and to try replacing it, I have no oil leaks, just changed the oil and new filter. SO like the title suggests i had my EPC light come on while driving down the interstate. I was on cruise and had been for about an hour. then the motor seemed to stall and then pick up right away but wasnt at full power. i had the gas pedal to the floor and was losing speed. the cruise had come off as soon as the motor faulted. the light stayed on constant and i did not get any other lights or sounds to accompany it.
I pulled off at the next exit and stopped in a parking lot. I turned off the car and then turned the key to see if my check engine light was still operating. it was so i listened to the car as i turned the key on completely. I didn't hear any odd sounds and the EPC light was no longer on. I pressed the gas pedal and the motor responded with full power. Not sure what would cause this 2 occur but I am concerned that it may happen again and i may get stuck somewhere.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: VW 2003 GLX VR6 Stalls While Driving With EPC Light On
I have a VW 2003 VR6 jetta and lately I need to turn my key 2-3 times to start the car. Then while driving during daytime hours its stalls after 30 - 40mins. With EPC light on. I also have an engine light on.
Code P1151. I noticed a small exhaust noise coming from my middle pipe and my engine is very hot after driving for 30 -45 mins after it stalls. It does start back up after 10 minutes but stalls later.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Check Engine Light Came On When Driving In 3rd Gear
I recently got a 2001 Mk4 GTI from carter Volkswagen in Seattle with 113k on it last friday (it did come with the car fax). I drove it back home to Wenatchee and it ran fine and is still running fine... I think. Today as i was coming home from school the check engine light came on when i was in 3rd gear and the car just wasn't driving as smooth as it was the first day (it felt as if i was driving over really really small bumps or like something was loose and was moving around a lot).
When I would get to a red light and be in first gear the light went off but it came back on as i would shift into 3rd and stayed on when i got into 5th. It recently had its oil changed at 112,000 miles. Also when the car is just idling the tachometer is going up and down a little bit, it is idling at about 600-700 rpms. I got this car because i didn't want to have a car with problems any more (I had an 88 Isuzu Trooper before).
