Passat (B6) :: Fogging Windows In Morning?
I have noticed that the interior windows fog in the morning after leaving our garage. If the temps are in the 40s-50s, I will have the heater set at 72, outside air coming in, fan set at 1. Within a half mile I have to put the defrost on and engage the A/C. At this point the windows clear, but as soon as I disengage the A/C they fog again. I don't recall having this happen in the past. I have checked to see if there is moisture in the car, such as wet carpets, but everything seems dry. It seems crazy and wasteful to have to engage the A/C at these low temps. Is this normal?
View 10 RepliesPassat (B6) :: 2006 - Windows Fogging Up Too Much?
My '06 B6 2.0T windows get really fogged up when it is humid outside and it is nearly impossible to defog them. Takes forever and sometimes it's like driving a tank...only looking through a little piece of the windshield. Any info about this other than a manual wipe?
View 5 RepliesTiguan :: 2010 - Windows Are Always Fogging On The Inside
My 2010 Tiguan's windows are always fogging on the inside. When backing from garage, when getting in after sitting in a parking lot, temperature and humidity seem to make it worse, but it happens under all kinds of conditions. My Jetta sits right next to the Tiguan, and it rarely fogs up.
View 12 RepliesSanta Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Windows Fogging Up For No Apparent Reason
I'm at 3,200 miles on my 2010 Santa Fe and all is going well except for the fact that every now and again, the interior windows fog up. And I'm not talking about regular fog...this stuff has earned the nickname of ninja fog because it comes out of nowhere and it's impossible to get rid of. It's only happened twice but it doesn't indicate a fault of the automatic climate control. The first time was my fault. I was behind an old Thunderbird and hit the recirculate button to get the stink out. I passed the 'Bird but forgot to turn it back to fresh. The fog was so heavy that it took running the defrost on full blast for [b]15 MINUTES to clear it.
It happened again tonight but came totally unprovoked. I keep the system on automatic and set between 70 and 74 F and tonight I had it set on Auto at 72 when it happened. I was sitting at a red light and all of a sudden, POOF! There it was. Came literally out of nowhere and after running the defrost on high for the rest of the drive home, even the passenger front window was barely half-clear. I noticed the outside temperature gauge went from 44 to 41 - very quickly so I'm wondering if a quick external temperature loss causes the relatively warm inside of the glass to fog up.
Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Windows Fogging After Changing Cabin Air Filter?
I have a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. It has about 104,000 miles on it. This past summer I changed the Cabin Air Filter for the first time. I believe I installed it right with the air flow arrows facing down. Ever since changing the cabin air filter my windows fog up easily. The winter time is bad now. The window Fog and ice up so much that I can't see out well at times. Even the back windows fog up bad! Defroster on high does nothing!

The windows in my car, a 1997 Cougar, have recently started fogging up inside. It only started doing this for the past week week and a half. I've checked the carpets and they're all dry. My car is the only one in the parking lot with fogged up windows. What do I do?
View 15 RepliesBuick - Century :: 2001 - Interior Of Windshield As Well As Side Windows Fogging Up
My current issue is as such: I started my car the other evening after a long day at work to find that when I started the car (I always leave the heater/AC control in bi-level mode with the a/c on with the fan at low or not on at all, unless I need the floor heater or the defroster) the interior of the windshield as well as the side windows instantly became fogged up. It took close to 10 minutes for the windshield to defog. Upon arriving home from work, I checked the reservoir where the coolant is recirculated and found that it was bone dry.
After the vehicle had cooled down, I popped the radiator cap and indeed the radiator fluid level was down. I replaced close to a 3/4 gallon if not a tad bit more of 50/50 mix. The next morning I started the car and the problem was still there and it took a few minutes for the heater to heat the car. Last evening and then again this morning, after the engine cooled to ambient temp, i squeezed the upper and lower hoses and there was still coolant in both hoses and thought this was odd, but I started the car w/o the fan on and the problem seemed to go away, but I noticed it didn't take any time for the car to heat up. Taking all of these things into account, is this a heater core(no coolant in cabin) or water pump problem or simply a bad thermostat?
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Windows Fogging In Cold Weather
I'm new to the diesel having just gotten mine after having an Ecoboost F150. Question -- once the truck gets up to normal operating temps, should the climate control be capable of removing all the fog from the side windows??
View 14 RepliesLexus - Defrosters - Ventilation :: IS250 2007 - Front Windows And Windshield Fogging Up
I just had the 30,000 mile service at a dealership, replaced a leaking water pump, front and rear brakes. The car has just 30k miles on it so it hasn't needed anything major despite being 10 years old. Once I got it back the front windows and windshield are fogging up. It doesn't seem to matter if the car just started or has been going for a while. We have had temperature changes and humidity changes in the weather, neither makes a difference. I have to drive with the windshield defrost on all the time. The dealer said it isn't anything they did, but it started immediately after I got it back. Is it possible that they knocked something and broke it?
View 10 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: Driving With Windows Down Is Exasperating
I've never had a car before where rolling the window down put in so much gale force wind into the car. I used to be able to drive with windows down (not on freeway and sometimes even on freeways) quite comfortably but now it is just too much wind blowing into the car.
View 19 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Power Windows Won't Work While Driving
I am currently having a problem with the power windows on my 2001 Passat V6 4Motion. While driving the windows will barely work, go down or up a few millimeters at a time. This happens on all windows, fronts and rears. The odd thing is when the car is stopped there is no issue. I have replaced the window switch twice, and took out the CCM (Comfort Control Module) to see if it had gotten any water damage/ loose connections.
Here is a video i took earlier today. [URL] .... (apparently embedded videos wont work).
Prius (2004-09) :: Dew On Windows While Driving - A/C Settings?
I am driving in Florida as the humidity outside gets very very high along with high temperatures and with the air conditioning on at night inside I developed a dew on the outside but the wipers can wipe away. with the high temperatures outside I obviously want the car cooler inside. it seems to be a constant fight but the real problem is the side windows are also developing a dew on the driver side window and passenger-side somewhat.
I can roll the windows up and down put the time I get them rolled back up and go a very very short amount of time they are dew over again from the outside , the windshield it is almost to the point where you have to leave the wipers on I have used the washers and that does not really work much at all either .
IS F (2008-2014) :: Loud Buffering While Driving With Windows Down After 20 MPH?
Is it just me or does the shape of the is-f make it really hard to enjoy driving with your windows down after 20mph? Strong wind in your face, loud buffeting in your ears. Opening all 4 windows better but it's still one of the worst vehicles to drive with the windows down I've ever driven...
View 12 RepliesLS / MKZ :: While Driving AC Start To Blow Hot Air And Power Windows Will Not Operate
The issues are related to the air conditioning and door locks...very very strange. I did a DATC diagnostic and the only code I got was 12 65.
Here is the issue... When the car is started and AC is on, it will blow cold air for a while. While driving, at some points the AC will start to blow hot air and the power windows will not operate...the door locks seem to be making a clicking sound, according to my father.
We have had the dealer check the car and all they did was replace a cooling wall or something for $500+....a complete waste and no fix. We have taken it back to the dealer twice and they cannot isolate the issue.
I did the DATC diagnostic twice this morning and reset the system (cold booted) by pressing the defrost button. Once completed the system rebooted and blew out a puff of air.....I did the diagnostic again and when done hit defrost...same puff of air. Again, the only code it threw out as 12 65 - which I am not sure is valid for this car.
Jetta - Volkswagen :: Loud Noise When Driving With Windows Down
I have a 2013 VW Sportwagen TDI. I have been driving with my windows down and recently started hearing a noise (don't hear it when windows are up). The sound only seems to appear when I first start driving the car (after a few miles it seems to stop or at least is much less frequent), as I slowly (normal) accelerate and especially as I turn into a corner... I hear a loud "ticking" sound. It "ticks" 6-12 times (over about 5 sec) and then stops altogether. The sound has a very metallic character.
I looked at a youtube video demonstrating diagnosing and repairing of the CV joint(s) and am not convinced this is my problem. The tone and frequency of the "tick" sound shown in the video is way different than what I am hearing with my car.
Jetta - Volkswagen :: 2006 TDI - Foggy Windows From Inside When Driving
Our 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, with 227,000 miles, recently started to fog up inside everytime we drive it. The dealership cleaned the sunroof drains thinking that was likely the cause (although, the car is always garage parked). That did not resolve the issue. We have to have the defrost on full blast to be able to see out the windows, and still we need to roll back windows down to wipe condensation to see out of them when making a turn.
View 8 RepliesCamry :: 2006 V6 - Noise Coming From Passenger Side When Driving With Windows Down
I just switched to driving my wifes 06 v6 Camry a few months ago. A few days ago I noticed that coming from the passenger side I can hear a noise when driving with my windows down. It's quite obviously coming from one of the wheels as its a kind of scrapping noise that speeds up if I speed up.
Here's the thing... this happened once before, the exact same noise, and my wife took it to a shop in our hometown when I was out of the country on business. She says that "a piece was missing and they replaced the piece and now it stopped making the noise". She doesn't have the receipt or remember where the place was so I can call and ask exactly what they did.
So my question is... if this is in fact the same issue... what piece of the brakes or tires or whatever could fall off and cause a strange scrapping noise.... It almost sounds like the wear sensor the brakes, but I checked the pads and they seem fine.
Touareg :: Wind Buffeting When Driving With Sunroof Open And All Windows Completely Up
I get the worst wind buffeting (loud whooshing and terrible pressure) when driving with the sunroof open with all the windows completely up. And just yesterday I realized the roof opens up fully with some additional pressure (surprisingly hard pressure) after the lever is turned and I get the most unbelievable eardrum crushing pressure/ noise until I crack a window or two. I'm not kidding, its unbearable at pretty low speeds.
This seems like a serious design flaw (and should have been tested and corrected) not to mention extremely annoying as I can't use the sunroof without opening the windows.
Passat (B6) :: Headlights Has Fogging Or Dust
Replacing my HID bulbs, and I thought the the driver lens was just more scratched or rock pitted than the passenger.
However, it appears that their is some fogging or dust inside the lens. It doesn't seem to be actual moisture - it appears almost like a layer of dust or residue - perhaps it had moisture at one time that has evaporated or vented out.
