Golf/GTI VI :: Engine Won't Rev More Than 3000 RPM When Car Is Parked And Out Of Gear
When the car is parked and out of gear, it won't rev more than maybe 3000 rpm. Is this a safety feature? I was trying to hear the exhaust.

I have a 2011 Toyota Camry 4 Cylinder LE. When the car has been parked for a period of time 2hours plus, I hear a noise coming from the engine right in front of the Driver Seat. The noise only happens on the first acceleration after its been parked. It only happens once.
It sounds like something moves or shifts into place.

View 1 RepliesGolf IV / Jetta IV :: Popping Noise When Turn Steering Wheel While Car Parked
Ok a week ago i noticed a popping noise when i would turn my steering wheel while the car was parked. It sounded and felt like it was coming from the drivers side.
Now a week later i have a weird constant whirring/growling noise coming from the drivers side wheel area. Which only stops when I stop completely or take a right hand turn.
So I think its a wheel bearing due to the fact it stops when I turn right, but thats why im here im not totally sure.

Today I noticed that my hazards came on while my car was parked. It's weird because when I opened my car to check if I had turned on the hazards (which of course I didn't), the hazards stopped flashing. I don't know what could have caused this.
View 1 RepliesGolf V R32 :: Front Bumper Expand While Parked Under The Sun For A While
I noticed while parked under the sun for a while the front bumper expands, fully exposing the small cut outs or tabs usually hidden under the head lights. I brought it in to get checked out and being told that every clip and screw are in the right place. Later on that day I met with the mechanic, he explained that the bumper is a little different as far as mounting goes compared to other vw's leaving a weak spot.
View 15 RepliesPrius (Gen 3) :: Noise In Right Rear Wheel Area When Car Parked
Tried searching, but all I found were links to fan noise in rear seat area. Yesterday my wife was in the garage and heard a fan-like noise in the right rear wheel well. The car had been parked for a couple of hours after a trip to the doctor's office. I could faintly hear it inside the cargo area when the 12v battery is located, but it was more pronounced outside. I got the key, started the car and the noise stopped and hasn't returned. I have no problem taking it in to have it checked, but I thought I'd check here before I did that in case it's normal. It's intermittent, so I don't know how easy it will be to diagnose.

Several times I have gone into my garage to hear a weird noise coming from under the rear of my car, almost sounds like a small air compressor, like one you would plug into the cars power source. If I start the car and immediately turn it off the sound stops, otherwise it will continuously run. The sound does not always present but when it does the car is completely off and the key is not anywhere near it.
Here is a video, you may have to turn up the volume, the video is dark as it was shot from under the car. [URL] .....
Camry :: Clunk Noise When Car Is Reversed After Parked Overnight
My situation of hearing a clunk, clunk only when reversing the first time after the 2002 Camry was parked over night. The clunk clunk would not appear after the first reverse til the car was parked overnight and reversed the next day. I fixed this situation by only changing out both rear rotors, but diagnosing the problem was very frustrating as the symptom seemed to be only the rear wheels being stuck with the break pads and no connection with applying the breaks. Fortunately the problem was only with the rotors and not the differential or transmission or other expensive replacements.

I have a 2007 Camry I4 AT. I searched and most mention noise coming from brake, etc. I don't see noise being mentioned when car is parked.
With my Camry in P, if I push the car a little bit, even just getting in or out of the car, I can hear a metal grinding noise coming from the rear of my car. The brakes looks okay. If I engage the foot brake, the noise reduces but does not go away. The noise seems to come from the bottom rear.

RC 350 parked in garage, 40 deg, F, for 4 hours. Happened to walk by and heard noise. Sounded like a quiet, harsh electrical hum are air escaping. Not positive but it seemed like the source was at the rear of the car and not the garage door. Noise stopped before I could trace it further. This was a second occurrence. So far no dead battery or flat tires!
View 3 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Light Clunking Noise When Car Has Been Parked A While
My wife and I have noticed a very light clunking noise coming from the car since we have owned it. The only time we hear it is after the car has been parked a while, like overnight for example, and we get in it and start off down the highway. Seems like we hear it within a quarter mile as we are accelerating up to highway speed.
The noise sounds like we ran over a tiny tree branch and it flipped up and hit the bottom of the car. Most of the time it sounds like it's coming from towards the rear of the car, but tonight it sounded as if it were up near the front window post on the passenger side.
I have to wonder if it has anything to do with perhaps the seat belts or airbags engaging or locking into position or something of that nature. 2014 Sonata? Does something "lock in" at a certain speed when starting off?
