Golf/GTI VI :: Buzz Coming From The Sunglasses Holder
Our GTI developed its first buzz/rattle. It is a harmonic buzz coming from the sunglasses holder. If my wife's sunglasses are in there, no buzz. If you take the glasses out, it buzzes at around 2200 rpm-2700 rpm.

This rattle goes away when I open the sunglasses holder and pinch the roof together. It's not the sunglasses holder door itself. Any write up on how to open this up so I can check out what's in there?

I am on my 3rd GTI, a 2013 GTI Autobahn, came out of 2011 GTI Sunroof/conv model. I have various rattling noises in this car. The sunglasses holder rattles all the time especially when i am listening to music with a little bass, the roof rattles a bit but that seems to go away if i close the sunroof shade, also my front passenger door rattles.
View 22 RepliesElantra MD (2010-15) :: Sunglasses Holder Opens All The Time
I have a 2014 Sport.
My sunglasses holder on the roof next to the courtesy lights always pops open, especially on hot days.
I suspect the clip that is supposed to keep the holder closed is loose or very weak. I searched online and don't see a recall about this or anything.
Lexus ES 2013+ :: Sunglasses Holder Compartment On Center Roof?
I'm so used to my Prius which had a sunglasses holder compartment on the center roof. I didn't realized how great it was until now.
Where do you normally store your sunglasses? I'm looking for a place with easy access.
Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Sunglass Holder Won't Stay In Up Position
I have a 2011 SE and the sunglass holder on the ceiling will not stay in the up position. When I first purchased the car it stayed up with nothing in it but when I had a normal pair of glasses in it after the sun beat on it for a little while it would come down on its own, but now even with nothing in it, it just opens back up every single time I close it. It looks like the little plastic "arm" with a metal pin in it on the right side is just sitting there and should be attached to it some how but I can't see how to/where to put it in the holder itself.

It appears something has fallen behind the lid to my cup holder, it won't fully open. Not a big fan of the design here, looks like the while center console has to be opened up.
View 1 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Transmission Shifts Little Harsh - Cup Holder Gets Warm
Noticed cup holders above the transmission a little warm. I have a 2011 hyundai sonata se; when I drove a regular sonata I didn't notice the cup holder getting as warm as my car.
I have also started to notice that the transmission shifts into 1st gear a little harsh vs the rental sonata as well. I did do my own transmission drain and fill with Amsoil fluid. Why its shifting like this?
Golf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Clattering / Rattling Noise At Low Gear Changes?
Ever since day 1, I noticed my wife's 2011 TDI/DSG make clattering/rattling noise during low gear changes (1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear), it sounded like a diesel engine's clattering/clicking but a little louder at gear changes. I mentioned it to the dealer at 3month/3k checkup and they test drove and say it's normal. Is it really normal?
View 6 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Rattling Noise Coming From The Back Part
My 2010 GTI, which I bought in April of this year, has begun to rattle, mainly coming from the back part of the vehicle. I have taken it twice to the local dealer and of course this rattle mytsteriously goes away when they take it out on a road test.
One rattle area seems to be coming from the sunglass holder (sidenote: why the hell would they design them so bloody small? I mean, they barely hold any kind of sunglasses), but the main rattle is definitely coming from the back, possibly trunk area.
This is my first VW and I have been told the nature of a VW in the winter is that it rattles.
Golf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Heat Shield Rattling Sound Coming From The Underside
So, I have discovered my first rattle in my GTI (8500 miles). Seems to be from the underside, sounds like a heat shield rattling, certainly sounds metallic. Did some spirited driving yesterday and hear the rattle today. Any target areas to check when I take a look under it?

View 12 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: Airbag Light Came On After Euro Cup Holder Install?
Ok, so I installed my euro cupholder today, and I love it. Simple, yet so pleasing! So just for those interested in possibly installing one, but worried about the work, I'm not MKVI inclined whatsoever, so I figured if it would take someone who knows their car well an hour and half, it'd take me 2 and a quarter. I went slowly and as I took the console apart, I meticulously cleaned all the crevices and it only took about 1.5 hours, and that was with some re-fittting and tweaking to make sure everything was perfect. So with my first dive into takng apart the car, it was fairly painless and I love the outcome....except:
For some reason I get an Airbag Error and a warning light. The passenger light works well and goes off with a passenger in thier seat, like its supposed to. I only unplugged, then replugged in 5 things: Passenger Airbag on/ off light, ESP on / off button, 12 V power, Light for shifter (auto), and I Pod (well just an aux line in).
Camry :: How To Install Bluetooth Mic Over Sunglasses Compartment
I want to install a bluetooth mic from my stereo into the pop-out compartment for the stock mic. I figure i'm going to have to go from the stereo behind the dash up to the left through the side panel next to the windshield, through the roof and into the compartment. How to pop these panels without breaking the clips.

Lexus RX 2010-15 :: 2013 RX450h - Dark Area On Nav Screen With Sunglasses On
I test drove a 2013 RX450h this morning and almost decided to purchase it. The one problem I experienced was a dark area, about 1/3 of the nav screen on the driver's side with my sunglasses on. Taking the glasses off eliminated the problem. I tried a different pair of sunglasses and was able to duplicate the dark area. I am assuming this problem is caused by polarized lenses. I do not have the problem with my 2010 LS nor the 2013 GS350 I also tested.

I have a 2 month old 2011 Camry LE. Really disappointed by the quality of interiors. A rattling sound comes on and off from both the B-pillars as if something is lying loose in pillar. Have tried pulling both seat belts to the max multiple times, adjusting seat belt heights but all in vain.
View 14 RepliesPrius (Gen 3) :: 2011 Rattling Noise On Wheels
This car is by far the most rattling thing on wheels i have ever experienced. i for one do not classify it as poor fit and finish, because as you look the interior over i think it has excellent fit and finish. however, it does not like to be disturbed. I have the flying bridge area rattling both left and right sides of the dash, the back hatch area. it truly "feels" like i'm driving a pos. just truly disappointed in Toyota. I guess that is how powerful this car is in knowing the mpg return I get out of it.
View 19 RepliesTiguan :: 2011 SEL 4Motion - Rattling Under Acceleration Usually Around 2500 RPM Or So
Is rattling under acceleration normal on the tig? Sounds like a heatshield to me or something, usually around 2500 rpm or so, pretty disappointing on a 35k dollar vehicle.
Imagine a drawer of silverware being shaken around, that's kind of what it sounds like, mostly noticeable with the windows down.
