Lincoln :: 2002 - Idles Wildly / Getting Code PO171 And PO174?

My 02 navigator does not idle right when in park or sitting at stoplight. I've gotten codes po171 and po174. The truck ran fine for a good 3 months after the (service engine soon light) came on and I got these codes so I decided to do nothing.. Now it idles bad and has even shut off twice on me while pulling into driveway. I changed the MAF and that did nothing.. Should I assume its the o2 sensors or is there a chance my CAT is shot.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: EGR Open All The Time / PO171 And PO174 Codes

Everything started with the typical lean bank 1 and bank 2 codes. I started at the basics change fuel filter PCV Hose & Valve clean the MAF changed air temp sensor(it was cheap). Still had same po171&po174 codes. Bought a obdll reader. After 3 weeks of nothing being accomplished I bit the bullet and took it to Ford for a diagnostic and they said it was definitely the intake gaskets.

I changed the gaskets and now this has gotten worse! I started the truck after reassembly and it ran like crap!

Checked everything and everywhere and could find nothing wrong. I then took off the vacuum line to the EGR and everything smoothed out. I didn't mess around and replaced the EGR the DPFE and the vacuum solenoid.

It still runs like crap especially at idle. I did the tests with my digital meter and found the vacuum solenoid is calling the EGR to be open all the time. I suspect that this would be the fault of the PCM? What should be my next course of action?

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2002 4.6L Windsor Won't Stay Running - Codes PO171 And PO174

This truck has been running fine then as my son was getting off the interstate it started acting like it was running out of gas then died. I went to tow him in and it cranked right up and never had another problem for a week. Yesterday he drove 80 miles away when the same thing happened shortly after he got off the interstate. He replaced the fuel filter which it probably needed but still won't start and stay running. It cranks right up the immediately dies.

First time this happened it was throwing codes PO171 and PO174. Now it is not showing any DTC's at all and none pending. We see no frayed or bad wires and all vacuum hoses seem fine. He cleaned the MAF with no change in behavior.... If it were an outboard motor or some kind of boat I'd say the problem is in the ignition switch except it does run a very short time before dying. If I immediately try to restart it won't stay running. If I let it sit for a while then it will run for about a half minute.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2001 5.4L Throwing Codes PO135 / PO155 / PO174 And PO171

I have a 01 f150 7700 with a 5.4L and its throwing codes po135, po155, po174, and po171. Here is the history, last year had same code and found it was a bad ELLBOW on pcv hose, replaced and that fixed it, I also had a crack on egr valve and I replaced that too. This Jan truck was running bad in the morning and I traced it to a bad idle air controller, replaced it. I got a code and guy said I had a bad pcv valve so I replaced it.

About 3 weeks ago check engine light came back on with the 4 codes listed above, I replaced both front o2 sensors, 250,000 mile so I thought that was it but came back same code, I took it to a local mechanic and he said that the intake gaskets need replaced, but he call me later and said I had no leaks on the intake and that he did find another vac leak. He didn't charge me anything and sent me on my way.

I drove the truck about 50 miles and same codes back, so to recap I have cleaned mad sensor, replaced both front o2 sensors, a new egr valve, a new idle air control, pcv valve, pcv hose and ELLBOW, don't know what to look at next. Any clues?

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Truck Cranks For 3 - 4 Seconds Before It Finally Fires / PO171 And PO174 Codes

I have the notorious PO171 and PO174 codes on my 2003 5.4L that come back whenever I erase them. I cannot figure out the problem. Whenever I start the truck it cranks for 3-4 seconds before it finally fires, then rpm's are very low, then they finally pick up. I have noticed a loss in power as well. I have completed a full tune-up (spark plugs, coils, boots, filters, etc.)

I have checked the vacuum and PCV lines numerous times, I have yet to find a leak. MAF appears clean. I am running a K&N CAI setup. O2 sensors a good, replaced the gas cap. The only other problem I can see is a bad PCV valve? I hope it isn't a manifold gasket. The truck has been very well maintained and still looks brand-new throughout at 250,000 miles.

Celica :: Extremely Sluggish With Codes PO300 / PO302 And PO171 Constantly Popping

I have a 1.8l 1zzfe that has been rebuild because of the oil consumption problem. Right before it was rebuilt, it became extremely sluggish and was popping po300, po302, and po171 constantly. When the motor was torn down #2 cylinder had a burnt valve, rings were stuck, and carbon everywhere. All bearings were in spec, but they were still replaced. Pistons, rings, timing set, and plugs were replaced. I am still getting a sluggish acceleration, and popping codes po171, and po300. I have tested the injector resistance, seemed ok. Tested spark, seems ok. Tested the wiring harnesses, cleaned the maf, intake, and checked all of the vacuum lines. Not sure what to try next?

I have a 2011 ecoboost with 69000 miles and I am starting to get the dreaded P0016 code along with the occasional P0299. I am almost done making payments on it but I am hesitant about sinking the kind of money that it takes to repair the timing issues. SO the big question, is it worth keeping and making the repair or should I trade it and get a new 2016??

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2011 - Wrench Light On With P0720 Code?

I'm having issues when shifting into reverse and I it goes into limp mode when the wrench light shows up. This will not happen when shifting into Drive. When in limp mode I get engine code P0720. This calls for a bad Output Speed Sensor and my research says the sensor is on the back of the transmission but I cannot find any sensors on the transmission. there are several connectors clipped to it but I don't see any bolted in sensors. Also I cannot find a replacement sensor anywhere so I'm wondering if this is a generic code.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2002 - Got Error Code PO174

Looking for some experience/recommendations for the "what to do" and "in what order" for an error code. Recently the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light came on and has stayed on for the last 2 weeks. It has don this before after a heavy rain but went off after a few days but not this time. I took it to Advance Auto who hooked it up to a Trouble Code Reader and got back "PO174- Bank 2 system to lean". From what I've read from the Haynes book and other forum postings this is either a O2 sensor issue or a intake manifold gasket issue? Does this sound right? Next is how to go about addressing this issue in a systematic manner so as not "fix" 10 things that don't need fixing and not running to mechanic and paying a buttload for something I can do myself for less.

What would cause a trouble code PO 300 on a 1998 Chevy Blazer. The truck will run good sometimes. When it runs bad it will stumble at low speed acceleration. It will run fine wide open. Dealer looked at it and thought it was egr vale. I replaced it and it runs a little better but still stumbles.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 2000 - Idle With Code PO171?

2000 ranger 2.5 stick, coming to a stop i put in the cluch and the motor speeds up then slows down sometimes more sometimes less.

A month ago I had a code PO171, with a good idle. I cleaned the MAF senser then cleared the code, a week later the the CIL came back on same code. Then a month after the CIL is on the engine idle problem started. So I recleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner, cleared the code, and replaced the ICV with a new one. That worked good for about 3 days now the idle problem is back again.

The idle problem seam to be worse when the motor is warm or has been running at freeway speeds.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 2000 - Code PO171 - Intermittently Coasting At 20mph Out Of Gear

2000 ranger 2.5 245000 miles. code po171 and idle problem has come back. Replace ICV, EGR, MAF, PVC, check fuel pres, air cleaner, plugs, wires, O2, check for vac leaks, Intermittently coasting at 20mph out of gear (stick shift) engine revs to 2500 rpm and holds until i brake to a stop then it idles down. So I disconnect the ICV and it runs perfect. (its a new ICV) something is telling the ICV to open up. a month ago it did the same thing when i replaced the EGR the idle problem cleared up so I thought that was it.

There is a relationship between the truck speed and the engine speed but how does the engine speed know the truck is moving when its out of gear. It work perfect for a month all of a sudden it starts this problem again. I am thinking of taking it to the ford dealer for a diagnostic test but I don't know how specific they can get on whats wrong I don't what to them to just say "oh you have a vac leak" . . . I know a 171 could be vac leak but the problem is so dramatic and off again on again it seems more like a part problem then a vac hose is either leaking or not.

I got a 04 mk4 gli 1.8t and I got a po171 lean code and I know it could be a vacuum leak the maf sensor and other things. But when I clear the code it takes a couple days for it to come back on. But when I do clear it and start the car for the first time the car idles read bad almost sounds like miss fire. The when I pull out it hesitates just for a little than runs fine. Could this be a bad or dirty maf sensor? Like I said it takes a while for the cel to come back on.

My 2011 3.7 CC seems like it is missing at speed.

If I am around 75 or so in 6th is vibrates, but downshifting to 5th or 4th seem to take it away.

I am going in tomorrow and have the tires rotated and balance, but I think it is somewhere else. It has a little over 42,000 miles

i have a 2011 f150 xlt with the 5.0, my 4x4 does not lock in very well, i practically have to come to a stop and wait for it to engage fully or it starts banging and slipping like its trying to engage and not quite making it. are they still suppose to be on the fly? is there any kind of maintenance that i can do to them to have them work better? are they still locking hubs or did they change something?
