Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Leaking From The Front Of Rear End
I noticed the rear end of my F-150 starting to leak from the front of the rear end. What will I need to do to fix it and is there a quick way to fix this issue, as two kids unfortunately prevent me from having much time to fix the issue.

My dad's truck recently started leaking transmission fluid and we're having trouble identifying what needs to be replaced, here is a picture of where it's leaking from.

Fluid is leaking from the rear end of the transmission. The black stuff is some instant weld fluid...
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Rear Cargo Light Might Be Leaking?
I think the rear cargo light on my dad's 06 F-150 might be leaking. Had a water stain trail down the back seat. Is this very common? Is it hard to replace the gasket/seal in the light? I dont really think it's the seal that holds the back glass in.

I have an 04 lariat extended cab truck with the sliding rear window, but i have a leak somewhere back there. I have noticed that water literally drips right in the top middle of the window, but around the window is dry. Also, the roof interior trim is wet at the corners in the rear closest to the door. i do have a cracked 3rd brake light, is that the reason it is leaking or is there a seal somewhere else outside on top of the truck, maybe around the rear window as a whole?

While sitting at the heliport waiting on the rain to stop I noticed my rear window is leaking right above the sliding window. I'm kinda worried about this while I'm offshore because I have a power sliding window and I don't want it to ruin anything that moves the window. Do these trucks have a problem with this and where do I start to look at to fix this?

We just got a bunch of rain in San Diego and my cousin was sitting in the back seat of my scab when she felt water on her shoulder on the passenger side back window. I did some investigating today to find it not coming through the window but dripping off the back of the headliner. Is it the third brake light or the back window seal? If it is any recommendations on a fix?

My front differential is leaking. Are there any special Ford tools required to replace the seal? Or is it simply bolt (and fluid) removal, seal replacement, fill with new fluid. Any tips or heads-up on this?

Have a 2006 F150, head gasket leaking bad. It is the drivers side head. How many hours this job is? and does the engine have to come out or the cab have to come off? Has a 5.4L Engine.

I have a 2004 f150 4x4 with a 5.4. i have been leaking some fluid for a few months now but when i check oil and transmission both fluid levels are fine. I crawled under and it looks like something is leaking near engine and trans meeting and fluid looks reddish making me think its trans. now this week I developed a whining sound when truck moves. Again I rechecked oil and trans fluid levels and are all good. i was going to check transfer case but it is way behind leak and dry.

I recently had my rear axle seals replaced due to leaking. Does the rear diff fluid get replaced on that repair since the rear diff cover comes off? Trying to figure out when my next interval for changing rear diff fluid should be.
View 1 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Passenger Side Exhaust Manifold Was Leaking
2005 Supercrew and my passenger side exhaust manifold was leaking. Son of a mother duck that was a joke to get removed. Front two studs broke off about 1/4" below the surface. Manifold is not cracked but putting a straight edge across it's out of plane at least a quarter inch.
Had planned on the dorman manifold but read some poor reviews about it cracking in less than a year and being warped out of the box. There is an ATP manifold with very few reviews but all good. Or just bite the bullet and do shorty headers? The driver's side looks a lot easier to access.
These trucks really weren't designed to be worked on after assembly were they? I had to invent new cuss words. Looks like Ford manifold is disco'd...
Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 F250 - Coolant Leaking On Rear Right Of Engine
I spotted a leak last nite on my 6.0. It is coolant, running down the right rear on 2 metal lines that go to the trans I think. It was dark and 24 degrees so I did not spend too much time looking. Shut the mother down til I could research. 2004 250, 6.0 FX4x4, stock. Coolant was changed to green by previous owner. Bought it 4 months ago. 187,000 miles.....
View 14 RepliesIS F (2008-2014) :: Leaking Sunroof From Rear Driver Side Passenger Area
So I found out this afternoon that I have a leaking sunroof. Water has been draining into the rear driver's side passenger area and has soaked my carpet under my seat. And had standing water under my rear seat in the tray next to the fuel pump access.
I found that the drain tubes can become clogged allowing for water to spill over or seep out. And sending some compressed air up the tube will clear it. But I do not know where the tube exits.
I unfortunately cannot pull the interior apart the weekend because I have drill. So it will have to wait until next weekend to gut her again. I will also pull the headliner to check the condition of the tube.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Antifreeze Smell In The Cab - Windshield Haze Of A Leaking Heater Core?
I have a 08 f-150 with a 5.4. Started smelling anti-freeze in the cab, with that classic windshield haze of a leaking heater core. I don't have anything on the floor, nor is the engine heating up. Temp gauge is where it always is. This doesn't smell all the time.I just drove 4 1/2 hrs. with no problems. Other than the heater core ?
View 2 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Shutter In Power Steering - High Pressure Hose Is Leaking From Rust
I have a 2004 with the 4.6l. The high pressure hose is leaking from rust. From other posts I have read, it looks like I should rent a puller and remove the pulley first, and then I'll have access to where the hose connects to the pump.
Question: The leak occurred while driving home from vacation today. Went we stopped for gas, we noticed a shutter in the steering. I added about a 1/2 quart to the reservoir - there was still some fluid but foamy. I made it home, and I when I checked again the reservoir was empty.
Should I go ahead and replace the pump while I am at it? I wondering it if could have gotten damaged from low fluid. The truck has 190k so it's not like the pump owes me anything. Will it make any of the repair easier to toss out the pump too?

View 14 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Water Leaking Into Battery Through Seam Above Right Rear Passenger Tire
I know some others have had problems with water below the aux battery. I noticed this the other day when replacing the aux battery. I tried to pinpoint where the leak was by pouring water over the seams around the hatch and roof but didn't notice any water coming in. Then I tried pouring water in the seam above the right rear passenger wheel. Pictures are posted below. The water comes through the vent on the body that is just next to the battery. How to correct this?
View 9 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Hot Smelly Rear Brake
My truck is a 2004 F150, low mileage. I dont know if the brakes are original but theyve never been done since Ive owned the truck-4 years.
Last night I loaned my stock trailer 2200lb and truck to a friend (the trailer had been sitting 7 months) and first off the pin hole plug in box on back of truck had gotten bent somehow...so he hammered it back enough to get the 7 pin thing in and trailer lites working. WHen he unhitched he left the 7 pin plug in the hole so it would be easier for me to plug in next time.
He went about 20 miles rt with a horse in the trailer both ways. When he got back to my yard the rear passenger side tire was HOT (to hot to touch without getting burned) and there was a plastic/rubber type burning smell. Other 3 tires ok-mildly warm to the touch but most def. not HOT. When we looked at it with a flashlite there was a lot of rust type color on the rotor? (hope Im naming the parts right)-the other rear was just silver and dark.
He said I needed to replace the pads. Couple questions as Im too poor to go to a dealer or fix a lot of thing needlessly....so I just have friends do the work.
(I dont have a trailer brake box in this truck like I have in my other truck so I ASSUME that my horse trailer doesnt have brakes-how can I tell??)
What causes this?? I mean it was so hot I think if it would have gone another mile it would have caught on fire.
Do I replace just the pads, the pads and rotors and capilars??? I will be buying the parts at the store. Should I opt for a heavy duty or ceramic pad?
I need to go tot he store but am now scared to drive the truck even not towing. Should I be worried?? The brakes are gonna catch fire.
