Lexus RX 2004-09 :: 2008 - Brake Failure / Faulty Booster Unit
We recently purchased a 2008 RX350 with 61,000 miles. We had a potentially dangerous brake failure when the brake booster unit failed. It was an expensive repair ($1400.) and Lexus has refused to stand behind the product.

My brake lights dont come on until they are completely depressed. I think it may be the switch that connects to the pedal, but how do i adjust it in such a way that the light will come on sooner so everyone will quit telling me my brake lights are out?

So, I installed a new radio lately (Poineer 4100 NEX- nice radio, BTW). Yesterday, I ran a couple video wires through the firewall for new backup cameras. Anyway, after I was done, my brake lights and cruise control didn't work.
After a little Googling, I decided it my have something to do with the electrical switch on the brake pedal. So, I wiggled the brake switch a bit and the brake lights are working again. I must have bumped or bent something while I was running wires.
Was/is my switch out of alignment or is this a sign my switch may be going out. Should I replace the switch?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Right Tail And Brake Lights Don't Work
I have a 2006 King Ranch and right tail and brake lights don't work. The bulb is good. The fuse diagram in the owners manual is not the fuse box I have, so I cannot id the correct fuse to see if its bad.

I was using a 2004 Heritage F150 and when I connected a trailer to it something got fried. I lost both my turn signals and brake lights. The trailer worked fine on my friends truck so I don't think the issue was there but with the 4-pin round connector that was on the truck.
I found two 10A fuses blown under the hood and replaced them but that didn't work. They were in slots 19 and 20 and are listed as the camper/trailer adapter fuses. The running lights still work. The interior turn signal arrows don't even light up or anything when the turn signal is activated.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Brake Lights On Whilst Truck Not Running?
At 2:30am this morning I looked out my window and saw my brake lights and third brake light come on for about 5 seconds and then go off. This scenario kept repeating itself. I went to drive my truck 2007, and the brake lights remained on even when the lights were turned off when I was driving. I also need to seal the third light. Brake regulator has been replaced.

I have a 2005 F150 113,000 FX4. When I put the truck into 4x4 high the light comes on and the front driveshaft engages. Same with 4x4 low. the problem is that the hubs never actually lock. When I move forward in some mud or wet grass the right front hub makes this grinding noise like it is actually trying to engage but never does. Same with 4x4 low. I do not have any weird noises when I drive in 2wd.

I have a 2006 F150 xlt 5.4 3v. I've owned it since Oct. 15'. In approximately Nov. I lost the rear right brake and blinker light, and then around Christmas I lost the rear left brake and blinker. I also have no rear hazards, but the inst cluster flashes at a normal rate when the flashers are engaged. All running lights work, and 3rd brake light works. Front blinkers work and all other electrical works. Have checked all fuses and bulbs with no solution.

Ok, So, Im 40 miles from home stuck in ice and snow in a hotel.. (my wife works close by- thought it would be safer than driving in the 10 inches of snow we got 3 days in a row) so, I go to pick her up tonight and I engage 4hi.. I hear the click and the light comes on.. but no clunk of the hubs locking.. I drop it in 4 lo.. it shifts in low.. but the hubs are not locking..
I hear a ticking sound as I drive and when I put it in 2wd it goes away. I turn off the truck, turn the wheel hard both ways .. get out and I can physically turn the drive shaft and I hear the ticking in the hubs. If I read correctly when the truck is off these should be locked?
is it possible the vacuum is not releasing? I also get the groaning when I start up of the air diverter.. that im told is operated by vacuum.. so I am guessing I have a vacuum problem??
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Front 4x4 Hubs Always Locked - Vacuum Is Too Low Under Hard Acceleration
I have an 04 F150 (4.6, auto, 4x4, SCrew) with 300,000 miles. Any success modifying existing 4X4 IWE actuators so they are always locked in?
My last set of actuators didn't last long My vacuum is too low under hard acceleration... Actuators partially engage leading to early failure.
I'd like to take an actuator apart, modify it so it's always locked in. Some loss of mileage? Other ramifications?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 4 Wheel Drive Is Not Working / Front Hubs Won't Lock In
(2004 f150 S.Crew 4x4) I noticed that my 4 wheel drive is not working. The front hubs won't lock in. The transfer case will go into 4 low but the hubs still won't lock in.
Anyway, I have pulled vacuum on both actuators and one of them won't hold. It's obviously bad, but is that why I don't have 4x4? It seems to me like it is not...
When I pull a vacuum on the actuator that does hold, it disengages the hub from the driveshaft allowing free-wheeling. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the truck is running in 2wd, vacuum must flow to the actuators preventing the hubs from engaging? The actuator on the bad side is locked 'in' so the driveshaft always turns.
According to my train of thought, since the actuator has failed in the 'locked in' position, I should still have 4x4- What am I missing?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2005 - Brake Lights Flickered Until Completely Stopped Working
What is the common cause of brake light failure? I drive a 2005 F150 Lariat 4X4. When i started the lights flickered until they completely stopped working. To me it seems like a short, is there a specific, common place where a wire is not properly mounted or rubs on something?
View 1 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Auto Hubs Making Noise / Cannot Shift From 2wd To 4H While Moving
I recently purchased as used 2006 F-150 Lariat 4x4 with 77K miles. I am having an issue with the shift on the fly, I had a vacuum leak that was causing the auto hubs to make noise on occasion but it has never allowed me to shift from 2wd to 4H while moving. I have replaced the IWE solenoid and repaired the vacuum leak but it still will not engage while moving. The light for 4H comes on but the hubs will not engage. The dealer where I purchased the vehicle is not a ford dealership and whey have been trying to solve the problem but to no avail.

I was driving down the highway today and the brakes light (!), vsc, and master red triangle warning lights came on, along with a car with an ! in it on the main display screen. There is no noticeable difference in noise, mpg, or breaking performance. From reading through previous forums a bad 12v battery seems to be a common problem. Mine was replaced ~8 months ago. About 2 weeks ago the serpentine belt snapped and the car was drove ~2 miles to my home where I replaced it along with the bad water pump and also the thermostat. Could that have caused my current problem. 130k miles on the car...
