Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Idle Down To The Point Where It Almost Stalls When Stop Or Park
2001 f150 supercrew 5.4 triton... Recently did a tune up plugs,coil packs,filters,belt the whole 9 yards. The truck starts fine accelerates great and cruises down the road great without missing a beat.
But every now and then when you stop at a light or park it begins to idle down to the point where it almost stalls. When it does this i usually stab the throttle and it revs right up without missing a beat and idles fine for a a while then same thing all over again.
Could this be the idle air control? Seems like something simple due to the fact it runs down the road and accelerates like a big dog.
Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Oil Pressure Gauge Doesn't Move From Lowest Point
My launch scanner reported a bad oil pressure switch, but I've replaced that, and when I did the oil pressure light went away, but my gauge still didn't work. Could it be a faulty switch? Or is it common for gauges to stop working on these fords seeing how there's a resistor to trick the gauge from the factory anyway? If I smack my dash the gauge will raise and lower. But I think that's normal.

Ford F-150, 1999, 4WD. My dipstick tube has rusted off right at the point where it attaches to the engine block. I purchased a new one but I'm not sure if that's a job I can do on my own. What installing a new tube will entail?

My shift indicator switch on the trans seized up, so a local trans shop replaced it for me. Now I get no low range when I select it. I understand it needs to see the truck in neutral to do this, is there a simple adjustment? The trans shop is a long way away.

In my f100 the c6 had low miles on a rebuild and sat for probably 10 years, I have put around 14k miles on it since I got it. I have had a issue with it having a random delayed/flared 3rd shift point. If I am getting on it and miss letting off the throttle to let it shift. I have kept a eye on the fluid since it leaks all over the place, its about 1/2 quart for 2k miles and use type f. A week ago it stopped auto shifting into 3rd and have been manually shifting it to 3rd, when doing that it will then auto 3-2 and 2-3.
I got a superior R servo since I was unsure what I had and did not spend a lot on it, what is this r servo i pulled. The fluid that came out the servo housing had a lot of metallic shavings and smelt burnt, I also think the spring was installed backwards. I got 3rd back and in due time I will see if I still have delayed/flared 3rd shift, it has always had a hard 1-2 and 2-1 shift. This c6 has a transgo shift kit and I have a B&M kit in a valve body sitting from a wide band build I never completed. left superior and right unknown...
Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Changing 4.6 Exhaust Manifold?
I am changing the passenfer side exhaust manifold on my '00 150. The bolts all came out fairly easy, sprayed them often in PB over the last 2 days, my problem is the 2nd and 3rd nuts on the bottom are under the motor mount. Do I need to remove that or is there an easier way that I'm missing.

hey there, new to your forum , been reading alot here , i have a 1999 f 250 super duty, frame was rotted, so i found a 2003 frame with motor , trans , transfer case & both axles , put my cab on it with the 1999 pcm , having trouble with low power on take off , shudders , poor shift points , at highway speeds , turn signal on , the speedometer will pulse same as blinkers, new head gaskets , timing chains , replaced trans with the old 1999.

Just started. Replace fuel pimp and bracket 8 months ago. Now, three times in two days ...freely cranks, but does not fire. It has been suggested by a key man that my ignition key "Ring Transponder(??) is failing, about a $50.00 part.
Any links to a step-by-step to where I could do this myself? ($$$). I don't know what to call it, so it makes it hard to search online. the part he referred to in under my ignition switch shroud...but that"s all I know. (I was driving when I talked to him and forgot the exact term he used (I'm old, and easily confused by anything post ignition points and condenser)
Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: P0133 And P1131 Codes After Changing Exhaust Manifold
Truck Specs: 1997 F250 LD 184000 miles and a 5.4, automatic, shift on the fly 4x4 extended cab.
What I did: Changed the exhaust manifold gasket on the right side. There were some broken studs which came out with a stud remover.. No torch was used during this evolution.
What happened: After driving 10-15 miles it set the codes that I listed in the subject line. Reset the codes 20 or so miles later the P1131 code set again. (both times there was a noticeable loss of engine power) The upper O2 sensor checked out with a meter. When I checked the voltage on the truck's harness plug referenced to the NEG terminal on the battery, both the power and gnd had 12V- Key On Engine Not Running (KOENR).
What I did: Cleaned the connections put dielectric grease in the connections and reassembled. Reset codes; all was well ~ 100 Miles later the codes are back. I also ran a continuity check from the plug to the control module, they check out fine.

I have 2001 F-150 2wd w/v6 and OD automatic. All of a sudden I have no reverse and while in od will not shift into od. If I turn off od it shifts fine but still have no reverse. I want my truck back!!!

Ive got a 2000 4x4 F-150 with a 4.6 and a 4r70w. The transmission and transfercase were replaced by the P.O aprox 2,000 miles before i bought it..
i was driving it today, and while accelerating it missed a shift into 3rd, then nothing no forward or reverse, i sat and messed with the gears for a while then suddenly it shifted into 1st now it drives with a slight resistance, revs up to about 3K before shifting and shifts HARD up and down, and i cannot get over 40 mph its at about 2800 rpms and feels like im hitting a rev limiter wont shift again and wont accelerate anymore..
When at that speed I hit the OD off and it downshifts so i think i still have od?
Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 1999 - After Snow Won't Shift Up?
My 1999 4X4 is allergic to snow! In the morning, after a blowing snow night, the transmission won't shift up. 15 miles or more in low, sometimes second, before it will find drive. Something gets wet! It only happens right around the freezing point. Maybe the Manual Lever Position Switch, or whatever it's called, on the side of the trans?
Also the throttle hangs up and it wants to race about 2000 RPM at the same temp. That could be ice in the throttle body. Shut it off for five minutes and it's OK, but it darn near put me into a snowplow yesterday when it wouldn't slow down.
