Ford Transmission :: External Ph8a Filter Cause Foaming?
What is the reason that an external ph8a filter? I attached in line with the tranny would cause the fluid to foam?? I'm not positive that that install caused it, because I changed a bunch of things at the same time. Too many variables for me to sort out.

I am swapping to a 6.0 trans cooler in my 7.3 and want to add the external filter as well. I looked through the tech folder and the link about the external filter doesn't seem to be working. Does the transmission have an internal and external screw on filter? Or is it just and internal? Also do I have options like a wix internal filter or just a stock replacement? Is it sealed with RTV/ or a one piece gasket?

Just changed transmission fluid and filter at 175,000 on my 2000 V-10 and now I have a whinnying sound and shifting that does not feel sure footed. It worked fine before the change. Fluid is synthetic and filter is Ford Motorcraft. Did it just go?

Seems my oil was leaking from my oil filter. I recently changed the oil a month ago but it didn't leak until a few days ago. I used a mobile 1 filter. I read that some people have issues with other filters other than motorcraft sometimes leak. I changed it with a motorcraft and it isnt leaking anymore. Could have just been a bad seal on the mobile 1..not sure

My hitch is rusting so bad that I can pull it off in pieces. Surprisingly it seems to be the only major rust on my EX. I crawled under it the other day to check out how it is removed and I only saw half of 4 bolts. Those bolts look like they are under the fuel tank and I can't get my socket onto them.
My question is, do I need to drop the fuel tank to remove the hitch, and also is there anything else I should do while the fuel tank is down.(Besides replacing the hitch with a new one.)

Ford Excursion :: Front Passenger Shock Top Nut Removal
Any trick that they have used before for removing the Front Passenger Shock Top Nut without removing the A/C Accumulator? The Nut I need to remove is right underneath the A/C Accumulator and I can't get a 15mm Deep Socket on the nut so that I can use an air tool to take off the nut like I did on the Driver side. Is my only option to use a 15mm ratcheting box end wrench or remove the accumulator? On AllData, they show the pics of the Driver Side which is easy to access with just a swivel and a couple of extensions.

Well the old ball ball joints are out, new ones are in and now I'm working on removing gear assembly so I can change the inner axle seals. I've been trying to get it out. It haven't had much luck. I've loosened the cap bolts, prayed, pulled, hit, and still no luck. The only thing I've been successful at is screwing up the first few threads of the bolt holes for the passenger side cap. Tomorrow I'll be getting a tap and chasing the threads to clean them up. Hope I haven't screwed it up too bad. How to get the gear assembly out?

Ford Excursion :: 2001 - Fuel Filter Housing Leaking
I could smell fuel so I popped the hood to look for a leak. On top of the filter housing cover fuel was puddled in the little nooks and crannies of the black cover and some had leaked over the side into the valley between the heads. Is this a common leak? How in the world did fuel get on top of the cover but not on the hood insulator cover?
Also, just bought this not too long ago and the po said he had just done the fuel filter service on it. The gasket seemed pretty flimsy and weak and didn't really fit the gasket surface. Although I'm used to my cummins powered trucks and they use a o-ring to seal the housing cover. 2001 excursion 7.3
