Ford Escape / Hybrid :: Service Emissions Message On Dash - Car Shudders A Little When Driving
Started up my 6 cylinder 2005 Ford Escape with 187,000 miles on the engine this morning and after 5 minutes a check engine light came on and the car shut off on its own. I restarted the car and then I got a dash message "Service Emissions" and the car shudders a little when driving. I am going to the autoparts store later for a OBD scanner code check.
View 1 RepliesPassat (B5) :: CEL Accompanied By Emissions Workshop Message Came On
I'm the orgional owner of a 2001 Passat 1.8T with manual transmission...It has 93,000 miles on it.
Last week, the check engine light came on and a "Emissions Workshop!" message light came on. It was on for a few days, then disappeared for a few days, only to come back.
I took it to Autozone for a reading. Here's the results:
"The PCM has determined that during testing, the fuel system for bank 1 was too lean.
Definition: Fuel trim bank one condition
Explanation: The powertrain control module uses the oxygen sensor to calculate the air/fuel ratio of the engine.
The computer has recognized a rich or lean condition on one engine bank only.
Probable Causes:1. If bank one and two codes set together fuel pressure or MAF Sensor
2. Oxygen sensor defective
3. Ignition misfire-repair
4. Fuel injector repair.
Someone here asked if my oil was recently changed-It was.
Driveability hasn't been affected, nor has mpg. The car drives as normal.
I need to go on a 1,000 mile trip in a few days, and don't think I'll have time to have the car serviced.
Passat (B5) :: CEL Came On And Emissions Workshop Message Popped Up
I bought a 2000 Passat GLS w/ the V6 a couple weeks ago, and the very next day after buying it, the CEL came on and something popped on saying Emissions Workshop. I waited a couple weeks to see if it would turn off, but it didn't so I took it to a mechanic.
The first time, they just said a couple codes were off so they reset the computer. About 20 miles later, the lights came back on. I took it back and they hooked it up to their computer again.
They said the o2 sensors were perfect, and it was most likely some sort of resistance in one of my cats. The car runs absolutely perfect. I just wanted to get some feedback from ya'll because I do not want to pay the money to have a cat replaced if I don't have to.

I Encountered a problem today on my way back from shopping. I started the car as usual and noticed i was down on power and heard a weird noise from the exhaust in the back part of the car. I pulled over restarted and a message popped up saying Emissions Garage and a yellow engine control light stayed on. Got home popped the hood and i heard this turbo sound like in the imports. I am pretty sure its the air going back in to the turbo as if in the blow off valve wasn't doing its job. Also a weird noise on all the air intake pipe specially at the air filter.

I've got a 2004 6.8L Excursion (about 124k mileage). Was gassed up yesterday, today the emissions light popped on. I checked the fuel cap and it was on tight. Any other easy things to check before I head down to Advanced Auto to see if they can pop it on the diagnostic machine?

View 10 RepliesFord Excursion :: Got CD Error Message?
I received a new CD for father's day and tried to put it in the factory 6 disk player and once I removed the cd I wanted to and tried to load the new one, I got a cd error message. Now it won't even play the 5 cd that are in there and I can't get it to eject them or accept the new one. Is there an easy fix, or am I looking at a new radio? I'm guessing I won't find one like the factory one, but will an aftermarket one work with the steering wheel controls and all?

I am looking to install a new Message Center in my 2003 Excursion XLT. I have checked the vehicle for wiring and everything seems to be in the right places. I have ordered the Ambient Temp Sensor and that will just plug into the harness that is on my vehicle with a factory cap in place at the moment. However when I tried to order the message center, the dealer said it would be best to get the part number off one that is currently in a vehicle.
View 13 RepliesFord - Explorer :: 2000 - Emissions ECU Would Not Reset
A little embarrassed about a problem I have had getting the Emissions computer to reset for emissions testing in Maryland. I tried everything the testing station suggested, but could not get the codes to reset, for readiness for emissions testing. I surrendered after 5 or 6 trips to the testing station, and took it to my very trusted mechanic, thinking I had a bad ECU, and he would need to replace it. I would have done it myself, but figured I would not be able to re-program it myself, so would rely on my mechanic.
Got the car back, fixed for less than $50 (they did other maintenance work as well). Guess what it was? It was a blown fuse! This is the second time this 2000 Explorer XLT, 5.0 has me stumped and it was just a fuse - first time was tow-hitch lighting. So now, no matter what, I will check all the fuses first! Regardless of the problem - ok, maybe only a last resort when I have a flat tire

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: EVAP Not Ready But No Codes
My 2003 F150 4.6 wouldn't pass emissions testing last week due to the OBDII not being ready to test. I knew that would happen as I had just reset the code (I get a CEL anytime after a heavy rain - I think it is a bad coil coming). After I reset and drive for a while, I don't get any codes and everything is ready but the EVAP.
I reset the computer on Friday. Let it sit overnight. Filled the gas tank Saturday. Sunday I drove a 200 mile round trip. Ran the cruise control at 60 for a good 50 miles. I did some local running around. All things that should have/could have triggered the EVAP system to run.
Where is the best place to start looking for problems? I changed the gas tank a couple years ago and I think everything is tight on it. Should I just change the gas cap in case it is the culprit?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Emissions Light Came On - P0054 Code
A couple of days ago my emissions light came on in my truck and the P0054 is the code I get when I scan it. Did a little research online and it looks like it could possibly be a 02 sensor issue. Truck seems to be running fine.. I have a 06 F150 with a 5.4L.....

View 14 RepliesFord Ranger / B-Series :: 1971 F250 Won't Pass Emissions
I got a 71 f-250 ranger n it's a beast with a few problems. The most resent is emissions. I have owned it for a year and guy bought it from knows about timing n carbs, but now days most mechanics hate dealing with carbs from what I've found. I'm in az and my emissions came out as a fail, but from what I've read it may be fixable with the right knowledge if any ones willing to share. Here we're my result
Loaded reading. Load standard. Idle read. Idle standard.
Hc. 131. 450. 609. 450
Co. 5.56. 3.75. .11. 5 .0
So it failed idle hc and loaded carbon. So I'm pretty sure my trucks running rich and I know I can adjust its air and fuel, just not tremendously experienced.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Emissions Light Blinking At Certain Speeds
Having problems with a blinking emissions light at certain speeds? I have a 2006 F150 with the 5.4L engine with 132,000 miles on it and have had a problem with the emissions light coming on when I reach a speed of 80 mph. The pickup will drive fine up unto this speed but when it reaches 78-82 mph the pickup will start shake/rattle and the emissions light will blink on and off repeatedly until you reduce your speed to around 60 mph and then the light will turn off completely.
We took the pickup into the local Ford dealer for them to look at it. After they took a look they couldn't pull a code because there is no light that comes on until the higher speed. They told me that this was due to a bad tank of gas and this happens to prevent damage to the catalytic converter. They said it would be better once that fuel burned off. Well two full tank fills later the same problem persists. Just wondering, what course of action they took to fix it.
