Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: PO722 And PO720 Codes / Barely Pulls In Reverse
My 2005 FX4 is throwing the codes PO722 and PO720. When it threw these codes it barely pulls in reverse. Are the codes the cause of the reverse problem?

Coming home tonight I drove the last 10 minutes in total darkness with only enough power apparently to keep fuel pump running. I just replaced the alternator two weeks ago but it seems to have gone again. At the alternator I have 11.3v at idle. There is a two wire plug plus the power cable. One of the wires has constant on power. The other has nothing. It is not switched even though I think it is supposed to be. Is it fused somewhere?

My Ex is missing the label showing the serpentine belt routing diagram. I pulled one off the Autozone website for V10 with AC. It showed that there are 2 idler pulleys (one on the left and right side of the alternator). It also has the tensioner pulley.
I only have a tensioner on the left side of the alternator. The one on the right is missing. There appears to be a threaded hole where a pulley should go. Since I bought this used, I thought the previous owner took it off.
I used the bolt from the old tensioner pulley I replaced for the hardware and put a new pulley on.
I also looked at other V10s on used car lots and none of them had the pulley to the right of the alternator. Should there be one there?
Ford Excursion :: Change Out Alternator To High Output?
I decided to change out my alternator to a high output. After researching I've decided to go with a DC Power...I'm planning more lights and a power inverter. Any recommendation on which one? I don't care what it cost just don't want to over do it, can too many amps hurt anything? Also, on my previous EX I did the big 3 upgrade. Is it the same on a 2 battery setup?

I have a 2004 Big X. Original alternator was replaced as it only was producing 9 volts under a load. Replacement alternator failed within a day. Did I just get a bad re-manufactured one or would something else cause failure?

Bought a Powermaster 250amp alternator for my '05 V10. Says I need to upgrade my power and ground wires to 4 gauge with fuse on power cable. I don't really run too many accessories other than HID heads and fogs and 2 DVD screens for the boys.
Do do I really need to upgrade my wiring? Can't imagine I'm pulling much more amperage than stock (130amp on my truck).
Ford Excursion :: 2000 - Jump Starts - Alternator / Battery?
My X keeps needing to be jumped and after being jumped it runs like a top as usual. Took it to Autozone and had them hookup their little portable doohikie and told me the battery is fine but the alternator should be pushing out 14a and it's only pushing 13? Didn't realize 1aI made that big of difference but whatever. I am taking the alternator off in a few minutes and I'm gonna have it bench tested to confirm the output.
Is there a heavier duty alt that I can get? I will be pulling an RV before too long so I'd like to get one that's gonna last. Btw, 2000 excursion limited v10 gas 6.8...

1998 Ranger... I started having Speedometer/odometer problems after a power surge when my alternator went out. I knew the alternator was going bad and I tried to limp home another 5 miles rather than pay a tow bill and the alternator overcharged for a few seconds before completely dying. Since that time the only problem I am left with is my Speedometer and odometer have not worked. Scan tool says p0500 and I have replaced the ABS sensor on the differential with an OEM part but still no speedo or odo. I have checked all the fuses and relays associated multiple times. I do suspect that the RABS resistor is bad but there is no ABS light and it doesn't make sense that this one resisitor is the sle key for the whole speed control circuit. It's a manual transmission and RABS only. I swapped out the Cruise Control Servo with no luck as well. I am running out of options before having to take it to a dealer because I have to pass inspection. I have also checked and there is no power coming to 679 (GY/BK) into the instrument panel. I have also checked continuity for the rear harness to the ABS sensor and it is good.

Cant get fan belt back on? My pulleys don't look the same as the picture under the hood. I can see a idler on passengers side down low, but cant seem to make it move to give me some slack.
What kind of tool to use on idler to get slack?

The 3 pin connector that connects to the alternator, I broke the clip. Do the local auto stores sell that connector in a pigtail form so I can just cut the broken one off and solder the new one in? I'm sure someone has broken that clip before.

My 05 F20 CC LB 6.0 4WD has the alternator light on for a few miles then goes out also sometimes goes away when you accelerate hard, is my alternator going, or is this some common glitch in the light hopefully?? Also every once in a while got the death wobble, installed tie rod ends and center link, but if I hit a bump just right it does it.

Code P1166 showed up after I have new alternator installed from coolant leaking onto it. I dont think that is the cause though. In the fall I found some acorns in the air box and just recently in the heater fan. In December, after the acorns were found, the car had a low idle a seized alternator and a broken belt.
No acorns are in the air box anymore, or in the heater fan. Car has more of an erratic idle and stalls now that it is parked on an incline.

My 2005 Mustang w/ 4.6L is giving a P0456 code and also won't let me fill it with gas completely. I think I've narrowed it down to the canister vent or purge valve. Looking for narrowing down which would cause the gas fill issue.

What is wrong with her car. It is an 05 subaru outback 3.0. She bought it 4 months ago. A week ago the battery died at red light. It tested bad and was replaced. Then yesterday it died at stop sign. Jumped it and died in 5 seconds. Before dying, car would not rev. Jumped it leaving cables on for 5 minutes since battery was almost drained. She made it half mile back to office and coasted into lot. Battery tested good but drained and was fully charged. Alternator tested 7 times to be certain. We bought a 10A multimeter (our town has no 20A).
Tested for parasitic drain. No results. We took Alternator off and tested a couple more times. We took out non essential fuses to be safe. Nothing was left running. There was a phone charger that has been plugged in for the whole four months. She took it out for good measure. Starter tested good. 3 people said battery cables are good. They appear to be non corroded and tight imo as well. They checked fuel pump. All was well.
She wants to go on vacation for the 4th but is scared to try. Mechanic friend said wait until it happens again, go to o reileys and demand them replace the battery as it has to be bad even if testing good. I'm not sure of this is the correct approach, but what else is there? One online mechanic said a voltage test on electrical system is next step but only a few select mechanics even know how to do it such as one that specializes in electrical wiring or something like that.
Ford Excursion :: 2005 - Getting 14 Mpg?
Why am I getting at best 14 mpg. I drive 80% highway. I have 05 6.0 powerstroke 4x4. 285/75r16 non lifted 65psi. I never get over 68 mph. I see a lot of post and people are getting 17. I ran diesel keen silver through last tank still didn't do anything. My ficm puts out 48.5 constant. My delta between oil temp never gets over 5 degrees. Would stiction cause lower mpg? When first crank it rump rumps a couple times and lines out. I ordered Rev x should be here in next few days. How do I tell what flash for ficm. I read that if it has latest flash it could get bad mileage. I would like to get at least 16mpg.

I have a 05 EB Excursion 6.0L and I am on my third alternator. Just bought the third and I have 113K miles on the Excursion. No extra electronic just a set of backup lights. What is making the alternators go out. The second on lasted about 4 years and the first one 5 years. I have added extra wire from the alternator to the batteries.
