Ford Excursion :: 2004 - No Power At Compressor
Checked fuses, relays, low pressure switch, switch on high side line. Compressor runs and gets cold when voltage is applied to compressor.
View 3 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2005 - A/C Compressor Not Working
Truck has the EATC system. Blower motor works, blowing 78.5 degrees at the vent. Compressor will not kick on at all. I checked all fuses and they are good. Put gauges on the low and high side, both sides register a constant 70psi, held for 30 minutes with the a/c on max. What the problem is?
View 4 RepliesPontiac - Grandam :: 2004 - Compressor Is Working But AC Stopped Blowing Air
Bought an 04' Pontiac Grand. AC worked fine on the test drive then after a few weeks the AC stopped blowing air. I can feel the compressor is working and the air is being conditioned but the blower motor does not turn on. I've tried using all the speeds and none of them work. I do not believe the controls are to blame but rather either
A.) resister or
B.) connector(s) or
C.) blown blower motor.
Prius (2004-09) :: 2005 - AC Won't Working When Stopped For Short While / Replace Compressor?
I have an issue with the air conditioner of my prius. It just works while I am driving, but it does not work when I stop for a short while, such as waiting for signal. The fan is working fine. I visited a dealer and they told me the gas is leaking... but, they are wrong. I cannot believe them. The gas is fine and there is no leak and no problem exists at any other parts. Need to know about it? Should I replace the compressor?

Ford Excursion :: 2004 - Alternator Replaced - Won't Working Again?
I have a 2004 Big X. Original alternator was replaced as it only was producing 9 volts under a load. Replacement alternator failed within a day. Did I just get a bad re-manufactured one or would something else cause failure?

View 7 RepliesFord Excursion :: AC Compressor Comes On For Approximately 1 Second And Goes Off
Well I've thrown out the situation of having low freon for discussion earlier and of course consensus is a leak. I added freon by way of one of those guage on the can deals and it seemed to be mostly ok for a while. Today it was around 90 degrees--doggy and I were on a road trip. What started off as a comfortable trip became progressively warmer. I noted the rear air was blowing warm air--not "not as cold air" like what you'd expect from the vents being in the ceiling. Got back home and hooked up my new manifold gauges I had ordered which of course, were in metric.
Long story short, I added some freon but while the low side pressure seems to be in the proper range, the high side pressure is very low, as in not much higher than the low side. The compressor comes on for approximately 1 second and goes off. Both sides have a pressure drop when it comes on-maybe the low side dips a hair below ideal but I am perplexed-or actually lacking knowledge. I know this is going to be a professional's issue for me, but what could be going on. I read a little on the expansion valve but I guess I am wondering if there is anyway to narrow down the problem--guess it comes from always trying to learn stuff.
Ford Excursion :: 2004 - Dash Lights / Gauges Stopped Working After 30 Minutes Of Driving
2004 Excursion 4x4 6.0. I just had the fuel injectors & wiring harness replaced and it runs great, but after 30 minutes of driving the complete dash lights/gauges stopped working. I found that the #45 10amp fuse had blown so replaced it and after 20 minutes the same thing happened. While it was working all of the lights & gauges seemed to be working okay. This doesn't effect anything else, still starts & runs okay, turn signals work, head lights work, but the head light auto on/off doesn't.
View 4 RepliesFord Excursion :: A/C Compressor Running While Using Heat - Normal?
So I was doing my coolant flush yesterday and turned on the heat, both front and rear, to move any old coolant out of piping and cores. I notice that the rear was not blowing as "warm" as the front.
I did notice that the compressor was clicking on and off the whole time. A/c pipes coming off of accumulator were freezing up/getting cold/frosty.
Is it normal for the compressor to do this when the heat is on?
Ford Excursion :: No Insulation On Tube Coming Of The AC Compressor
I noticed the tube coming of the AC compressor (I think that's what it is called) have no insulation on them and are open in the engine compartment. I can't stand how poor the AC is already, so I'm looking at insulating them. What I could put on them that would be effective yet safe in the high heat of being under the hood?
View 5 RepliesFord A/C :: Compressor Won't Working?
I just did the r12 to r134a conversion and full recharge thinking the compressor would turn on once a certain amount was added but it does not. I read elsewhere that you can use a paper clip to jump the A/C clutch switch and force it to turn on. I tried that by sticking each end of the paper clip into the switch (wire side) and the only thing that happened was my engine idle went up a little. I never heard the compressor kick on. Maybe a bad switch? I also read somewhere that the easiest way to bypass the clutch switch is to jump the a/c relay. Where is this located?
View 10 RepliesFord Excursion :: AC Line That Runs From The Back Of Compressor Is Leaking
I think the top AC line that runs from the back of the compressor is leaking on my '01. It looks straightforward to replace, but I don't have any way to evacuate or recover the R134a refrigerant. Is this something that an AC place has to fix, or is there a way to do this on my own?
View 1 RepliesFord Expedition :: 2003 - A/C Quit Working - Compressor Cycling On And Off
My 03 Expedition A/C quit working, the compressor was cycling on and off so I took it in to be recharged thinking it was low. They said was completely out and it took 3.5lbs to recharge although they couldn't find any signs of leaking. When they recharged it they put more dye in to find the leak, the technician said he suspected a compressor since it was completely empty and had been working in the spring.
I was hoping it was a compressor as I have changed one before on my 97 Expedition and am pretty comfortable with it, however I can't see any thing leaking using a UV light. I have checked the compressor and every line I can see all the way back to the rear (it has rear air). When they recharged it worked very good for about 8 days on the 9th day it was working and went from blowing cold to hot instantly. Where or what to look for??
Ford Escape / Hybrid :: 2010 - A/C Not Working - Compressor Won't Start
She has a 2010 Escape 4-cyl and the A/C isn't working. It's miserable hot and she has small kids.
The compressor won't start. I put a gage set on the low pressure side and it's sky high, so it should be coming on at least. I also used a Launch scan tool on the OBD port and the HVAC control is commanding the compressor to start, so it's not that - which leaves the $300 compressor or the $9 a/c relay as the next steps. Unfortunately, I only see this car occasionally so I haven't really been able to get under it to check for voltage at the a/c compressor or see if it's a ground issue, etc.
I'd like to go after the relay next but can't find a a diagram I trust as to which one it is. I've heard mention that it's the WOT relay and also that there's an A/C Clutch relay. Any reliable schematic of the underhood fuse block and which position it's in? I took the cover off and they're numbered but there's no map. Also, what p/n is the relay? I'd like to just pop in a new one and see if it takes care of it.
Ford - Explorer :: 2000 - A/C Stopped Working - Compressor On And Off Intermittently?
I have a 2000 explorer and the a/c stopped working. I recharged the a/c because freon was low per the gauges and then the compressor would kick on, then the pressure would drop in a matter of seconds and it kicked off again. Then the pressure goes back up, compressor kicks on again and this just keeps doing this over and over but never gets cold. What's wrong? My a/c worked last year.
View 6 RepliesFord Wiring/Electrical :: 1999 F250 - A/C Compressor Stopped Working?
I have an early 99 F250. The a/c compressor stopped working. Have checked pressures, switches, freon etc. Found the switch in the dash is not getting power to send to the compressor. Where the feed for this switch is? I have checked all fuses, all good. The manual does not show a relay as being an a/c relay, so I am stumped without taking it somewhere now but I would like to avoid that.
