Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Location Of Oil Leak?

just picked up a 2004 (May, 04) F350 DRW with the 6.0 Powerstroke. I love this truck so far. After sitting in the driveway overnight, I noticed a decent sized puddle of oil on the driveway, probably the size of my fist. I took several pictures for diagnosis:

Any quick thoughts as to where this oil leak is originating?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2006 F250 Hard To Start - Turbo Leak?

I just picked up a 2006 F250 6.0. It was having hard starts. Anyways before I started using it I started tearing things apart cause I knew for sure the turbo was leaking so that had to be resealed. I just picked up a 2003 turbo today for it out of a used truck that had 144000 kms on it. (was in an accident). I am gonna post up a few pics here of the engine bay area, there is a huge amount of old oil I believe to be, I am wondering if it was a leak or spilled oil. I am going to be cleaning this up. Putting 03 turbo in here, doing a service and then plug my Tablet with torque pro and post up some numbers and see how healthy she is. Before I post any pics Is there a way to make these pictures clickable instead of them taking room up on the page?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Sudden Oil Leak Pouring Out Under The Truck?

I have not been on here for a while my X has never had any problems 140,000+ miles. yesterday went out side to start her and let it warm up went back inside to make coffee came out 10 minutes later and found a server oil leak pouring out under the truck. Immediately turned her off popped the hood and found oil all over the back top of the motor? before I start tearing into it, need to know where to start. I've read IPC sensor, CAC hose, anything else to look for?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Oil Leak On Driver Side In Front Under Valve Cover?

I have an oil leak on a 04 f250 6.0 stock. It has 292000 miles on her. It started as a few drips on the pavement about the size of a quarter and now has escalated to a steady trickle. It's on the driver's side in front of engine running down the corner of the block and dripping off the oil pan. I pulled intake plenum and everything and I thought it was coming out of the valve cover but now it looks like its just under the valve cover. It looks like its coming out of the front corner of the head. Its wet there and looks wet around the glow plugs. I cant run it now as I've drained the oil and coolant. I don't have a gauge or anything and its plain stock.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Coolant Reservoir Empty / Leak Coming From Rear Of Engine?

While servicing the bosses 121k 6.0, I noticed the coolant resevoir empty. It took 1 1/2 gallons to bring to proper level. Returning under truck to install drain plug, I noticed coolant coming from rear of the engine(right side). And of course Ford has changed the cooling system cap, so I wasn't able to pressure test it to pinpoint the leak. Started the engine and seen coolant coming from the left rear as well. I've been reading here to see what others have been seeing, (EGR cooler, head gaskets). With all the heat shields,not much room to look.

After work I did go and buy the adapter to test the cooling system. With any luck I will be able to see leak better.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - After Start Up Rough Idle And Power Lag?

Have a 2004 f250 that is having issues. Once the truck is started the idle goes from normal to loud almost sounds like its going to stall. A few weeks back the same happened when i was on a red light. It choked almost to where it was going to die. I accelerated when light turned green and would not move at all. I had to literally use full throttle to get out the road at about 5 mph. I pulled in to a gas station and fueled up as i had a quarter of diesel left and it stopped the rough idle and power starvation once i started the truck up again. It sees like this time its getting more persistent... FML AND THESE 6.0 problems

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Only Start When Hot

We have a 2004 6.0 that would not, start when hot. Now has been sitting awhile and still won't start. Have about 400 psi icp. Also this is a new motor that only has about 10,000 miles if that much. I would not, think the o-rings in the hpop system would have already failed, and being a new motor they should have the update with backup washers right? Unplugged the icp sensor and will not start. I have cup and CMC sync as well as ficm sync.

I have a 2004 f350 with a 03 bullet proofed motor. The truck did not have any power and the turbo wouldn't support until I put a new vgt solenoid in and it ran great for about 3 miles... Stalled doing 65 kinda lacked power while accelerating but got up to speed quick. I pulled over and no start. It is running error code kam on pcm from disconnecting batteries but could this cause the stall and no start? Or should I be looking into icp sensor?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 F250 Losing Power Then Stalled Out And Wouldn't Start

this morning I started my 2004 f250 drove a mile and filled up my truck. Then drove another mile and my truck acted like it was running out of fuel. It was loosing power then stalled out and wouldn't start. About five hours later I tried to start it again and nothing. about five hours after that I tried it again and it started up and drove fine.

My thought was fuel filter or the water trap. I haven't had a chance to open the filters up and check them yet. Today while I was at work I got on here to see if I could figure out what was wrong with it. all I could think of was maybe the HPOP went out or the ICP sensor. Could one of these be the problem or was I right with my original thinking and it's just a fuel filter? First thing in the morning I'm going to pull the filters and replace them.

Could there be something else wrong with my truck that I don't know about? Like I said I filled up the fuel tank then it lost power within a mile and stalled out and wouldn't start back up. Then about 10 hours later it fires up and acts like nothing happened.

2004 f450 with 6.0. Was driving down the road when it started losing power like it was starving for fuel. It carried on for about a mile then died and will not start. No codes at all and we put a new fuel pump on but still wont start. Put a rag with gas in the air box and will run but rough.

I have a 2004 6liter. I parked one day two weeks ago and a went out last week to move it and I will only crank over. No fire No start!!!! Have new batteries. New fuel filter and have fuel coming in to the fuel bowl. I have gone over the harness, checked my fuses. I do not have a reader or scanner. Any recommendations. I want more than just a code scanner.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - At Start Up No Acceleration?

First of all, I have 2004 f-350 92K miles with a stock 6.0 - EGR deletes and new oil cooler is the only updates.

Two weeks ago I had an issue pop up. When I tried to start from a dead stop there was no acceleration, it would idle ok but when i pressed on the peddle NOTHING! I called the local diesel guru, he recommended I change the fuel filters. After I did this there was a tremendous improvement in performance.

After a few days of normal driving, I noticed a subtle reduction in throttle response. Today I noticed a slight lag when accelerating which lasted about 3 miles until there is once again no acceleration. It will start normally and idle is a little rough, but will not accelerate even in park the engine is extremely slow to accelerate.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - Won't Start Just Turn Over?

2004 Excursion, won't start, just turns over. Pulled the cap off the fuel filter and it's filling fast so seems to be getting fuel. FICM replaced with a unit from Ed a year ago, along with a high output alternator, tests at 49 volts at key on, 48.5 cranking.

Truck started up fine last night, went for a drive with the family through Christmas lights. It has been running very rough at start and then smooths out after a few seconds. Went to start it up today and it just turns over, never fires. Unplugged the ICP on the passenger side valve cover and no improvement.

Pulled codes and had P0269, P0672, and P0676. Looks like a couple flow plug codes an injector contribution code.

What else can I check before pulling the valve covers?

ok, so after all the work done (headgaskets, head bolts, egr valve, ipr valve, egr cooler, oil cooler, blue spring kit, new ficm injector harness connectors), this is what I'm left with on start up. I am now getting no SYNC -0

I had ficm sync before i changed the connectors on the injector harness (last thing i did besides blue spring kit). Has this motor turn this way? And my glow plug light now comes on during and post crank along with a weird fuel light with 3 teardrops I've never seen before. I need to check this out.

Getting ready to fire this late '04 6 liter up tomorrow. Did HG and Studs,,etc.. My question is Oil Priming before start up, I saw the video on youtube about pulling a relay for the ficm, my owners manual only talks about a fuse for the ficm and its behind a panel on the dash. Did Ford wire these trucks differently?

My 2004 powerstroke recently started making a loud knock during the process of starting. Will make the sound warm or cold, however I mostly hear it when the truck is warm as it cranks a little longer and about two seconds into the crank something starts knocking. After the truck starts it runs perfectly fine.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 F250 6.0 - No Start With Low ICP Psi

I have an 04 6.0. My truck was running perfect, no problems. I start my truck, it started idealing rough for a couple seconds then just died. After that it just kept cranking and no start. There are no codes, tried unplugging the ICP sensor and nothing. Checked the fuel filter and its filling up with fuel before cranking. Oil is at a good level. FICM is reading 46.5-47.5 before cranking. Checked the ICP Psi I'm only building 11psi and HPOP was replaced in October.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2004 - No Hot Restart / Now No Start

04 Excursion with 03 motor. I had been getting a no hot restart problem. Now it won't start at all.

FICM 48
rpm around 155-175
ipr goes to 77
icp jumps to 475 and drops back to 400-425

My problem started in Virginia, so I got it started cold and drove all the way home to Indiana without shutting it off. Pretty much been parked since. I've driven it 4-5 times. Now it won't start at all.

I have some LPO problem: I posted it November 2013 [URL] ....

After that I replaced LPO regulator, front cover gasket set, LPO cover (Ford tech said my gearator was fine). I don't think this problem is fixed still

We tried to do a leak down air test. Honestly couldn't hear much of a difference with IPR on vs off. Pulled IPR, found the screen in tact but the plastic pieces that hold it on were all rotted away and broken. I replaced with a brand new IPR to be safe.

I'm not real sure what to look into next. Right now I have both valve covers off and tried to look for a HPO leak in valve covers while cranking. I don't see any oil anywhere coming into the valve train. Shouldn't there be LPO somewhere?

My oil is old now but it was T6 and brand new when this problem first occured. Motorcraft filter but the cap is river city diesel billet cap [URL] ....

Could it be as simple as the oil screen to the HPOP or the check ball in the pump? Can the LPO gauge dropping be related to the no start now? Are there any techs that live in Southern Indiana and want to make some side cash? Last thing I want to do is bring this to the local shop or even worse the dealer. Last time the dealer said they wouldn't touch it because the tuner and EGR delete and the local shop left it sitting for a month and hadn't even touched it.
