Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Car Won't Stop Stalling After Running Out Of Gas And Filled Up
2015 Elantra, 3100km. I was running low on gas, but had 50km left on the "range". About 500 meters from the gas station I ran out of gas. I started up again and made it to the pumps and stalled.
Once I filled up, it took a while to get the car started. Once it did it stalled whenever I drove and slowed down. I can start the car in neutral (it's a manual) but when I go to drive it stalls. Engine light is on.
Elantra XD (2001-06) :: Stalling Randomly At Stop Lights / Low RPMs

View 6 RepliesStalling - Starting - Nissan :: 2007 - Shutters At Stop Light After Oil Change?
I just got my oil changed and the company replaced my air filter. After about I week I cannot get my car to run for very long. I notice my car shutter at a stoplight. After I arrived home I turned it off thinking no problem. When I went to go start it up again. The vehicles rpms jump up in down usually between one and zero. When the rpms hit zero the car dies and you can do the start it up again and the same thing happens. While it does this routine the car shutters or feels jumpy.
View 2 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: Check Engine Light / Stalling After Coming To A Stop
I have an interesting issue that happened today after filling up on the way home from work. I have a 2011 Accent; 5 speed manual with 3900 miles. I filled up my tank and then topped off a little extra (which I now know is a no no) after the pump shut off. I put the cap back on, and after getting a cup of coffee, cranked her up and started on my way home. I drove maybe 20 feet and after coming to a stop, the car stalled. I wasn't sure at this point if maybe I let off the clutch a little too much. I started right back up and drove another 20 feet to a stop sign, and she stalled out on me again.
This time, after starting right back up, I noticed the check engine light was on, and if the car idled, it stalled. This is where it gets a little interesting. I was maybe 5 miles from the dealership where I bought my car. So I made a quick trip to the dealership to see if they could get the codes to determine the problem. After parking at the dealership, I turned off the car, removed the key from the ignition for about 10 seconds, and then started up again for giggles. The check engine light is now gone, and the car doesn't stall when idle. I have an appointment to get my oil changed, and am wondering if the codes can still be pulled?
Accent MC (2006-11) :: 2007 - CEL Coming On / Stalling When Putting In Reverse
My Accent is a 2007. It regularly has the check engine light come on. They continually claim it's the fuel cap. When it's colder, even when it's been running it continually stalls when your putting it in reverse. They also claim that's not a problem. It's only got 25K on it. So the fact that it's already have problems is rather annoying.

The brakes on my 2007 Hyundai Elantra make a grinding sound (almost like finger nails on wood) when I have tried to stop in icy conditions. It's also hard to get the car to stop and I end up pumping the brake. A Hyundai dealer replaced the front brakes over a year ago and Adirondack tire replaced back brake pads in the summer. Is the noise part of the anti-lock feature or does it sound like a problem?
View 10 RepliesElantra HD (2006-10) :: Car Stalls At Idle / Stop - Cannot Shift / Turn Off
I'm having with my 2008 Elantra. In short, the car stalls when I'm at a stop, and then for a period of time, I cannot get the car in park or turn it off. When I am eventually able to get it to do so, I turn it back on, and it restarts like nothing ever happened. The full details are below. The dealership is clueless, and I am so upset/frustrated.
Three weeks ago, I was slowed down at a yield sign, and when I tried to inch forward, my car stalled. The radio, AC, etc. were all still on, but I could not move forward. I noticed the EPS light on on my dash. I also could not turn the wheel or shift the car into park (could only get it into neutral), and therefore, could not turn off the car/get the key out.
After cops pushed me into a parking lot, the car sat for a bit (still technically "on"). Eventually, a friend got in and forced the wheel to move a bit in each direction, and was able to put the car in park and turn it off. When we turned it back on, the engine started and everything appeared fine. I canceled the tow and drove it home.
I took the car to where I bought it and was told there was a technical service bulletin related to the powertrain control module, and they recommended I take it to the dealership to be fixed. The first Hyundai dealership I took it to said they addressed the TSB, and also recommended I clean out the fuel line as that may have been affecting it ($150). Because it had been awhile since I'd done anything like that and the work was relatively in expensive, I said sure, got my car back and went back to my life...
Fast forward to this week. I'm driving in rush hour traffic, and the SAME THING happens again. I immediately tried to move the wheel around to get the car in park and restart, to no avail. I called a tow. After some time passed, the same thing happened again -- we were able to get the car in park, turned it off, turned it back on and it seemed normal again.
I had the car towed to another Hyundai dealership, explained the situation and they tested and drove it around a bit over two days, but because they are unable to recreate the issue and no codes appear, they can't do anything for me.
Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2008 - Brakes Very Responsive Needing Only A Light Press To Stop
Now that Spring is approaching, I am focusing on maintenance for my 2008 Elantra GLS. I have a brake question. When I first bought the car, my brakes were very responsive needing only a lightly press them to stop. I might say they were overly sensitive to the touch. Anyway, I since replaced both the front and rear pads since then. I am about ready to change the fronts again. Now when I press the brake pedal, I need to apply much more pressure to stop. My question is how do I get them back to where they were when I bought the car....meaning light pressure to stop the car?

My 2007 elantra has been rumbling when i change gears occasionally and sometimes when stopping at a stop sign the car just dies. The car starts right up though as if nothing happened. It only happens like twice a week but i really want it fixed. I already changed the motor mount next to the engine block on the left. Could it be the motor mount connecting to the transmission?

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2007 - Alarm Randomly Goes Off
Recently I took my car in for an oil change, & after that when I lock my car it doesn't always make the beep noise to let me know the alarm system is armed.
A little while after that, my alarm started to go off randomly. This happens at random times, all my doors are closed and we even took the car in to get checked(they checked the wires or something I believe because they thought it had to do with my aftermarket remote start)
I've read somewhere about people saying it could have to do with my hood switches? But truth be told I'm not very good with cars.

As far as trouble shooting faults in the ABS - does it store fault codes and how can they be read ?
Daughter's 2007 Elantra has ABS symbol lit for a week, I took it to a car wash and used the high pressure spray to clean the wheel hub areas and that may have fixed the problem but interested if ABS fault codes are stored and can be read.

View 5 RepliesLexus GS 2006-11 :: 2007 GS350 - Where To Put Insulation To Stop Rattles
Picked up a 2007 Lexus GS350 last weekend. Immaculate condition inside and out with 60K miles. Silver on Black. I was originally looking at a G35S, but the second I sat in the GS I knew there was no comparison. So unfortunately, the previous owner of the vehicle didn't fix the rattles.
I've searched the forums, and there's obviously tons of threads on fixing the rattles. Specifically, I looked here: [URL] .....
However, I'm still confused as to where PRECISELY I stuff felt between the windshield and dashboard. Is it drivers side to passenger side or just a section of it. I'd rather not stuff felt in places where it's needed on my brand new GS and potentially cause other rattles. So couple of questions:
- From where to where do I stuff felt between the dashboard and windshield?
- What's the ventilation cowl squeak? How is that different between the instrument panel rattle, dashboard chirp and central console creak as referenced in this thread: [URL] .....
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2007 - Died At Stop Light When Let Off Brake
I was at a stop light. The light turned green and I let off the brake. Just then the car died while I was in drive. I couldn't put it in park. I was a little panicky. It broke down on a major road in morning traffic. I tried starting the car. Nothing. I think I managed to move the shifter into neutral and tried starting the car again. Not a problem this time. Maybe a few minutes had lapsed. It bothers me of course because I've only made 4 payments on it and I'm planning on a trip out of town this weekend. After I dropped my son off I made it home without incident. What caused this?
View 1 RepliesElantra HD (2006-10) :: 2007 - Engine Would Try And Crank But No Ignition
Ok. 2007 Elantra SE about 73k miles
Woke up yesterday car wouldn't start. Engine would try and crank but no ignition. Came home for lunch tried it again, no luck. Let it crank 2 or 3 times about 30 sec. each no luck. Then all of a sudden it started right up. Shut it off and started right up again. Did this 5 or 6 times, it started right up each time.
After work I came home, tried to start it. No luck. Pumped the gas a couple of times let it crank for a while. Nothing. Then after a couple of tries, it started. Went to Autozone had the battery and charging system checked, all good. Put some gas in it and came home. All this time it started right up each time.
Later that night about 4 hours later I went to try it and no go. After about 5 minutes of repeatedly trying it came on eventually.
This morning I went out, pumped the gas twice and it started right up. Shut it off and started again about 5 times in a row. It seemed to run a little rough. Just slight shake that seems like miss or something.
What could be the problem. No check engine light. Fuel system, ignition system, some sensor??
Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2007 - Rear Defrost Is Not Working
My rear defrost is not working. The display light on the push button switch comes on and I do hear a click when I push the button (I am assuming the solenoid) but no defrost.
I have not checked the fuse box yet but wondering if I hear the click, is it a fuse?
Also, if it could be a fuse where is it located?
