I have an Elantra GT SE with automatic climate control. I would like to know if there is a way to disable the automatic A/C on/off with our system. The problem is that even if the air is cooler outside, the air conditioning is automatically turned on and the fuel economy drops. (I know that we can do this for the base model (to turn off air conditioning while using the defroster).
View 7 RepliesFord A/C :: 1997 - Climate Control Unit - Wiring Harness?
Looking for wiring diagrams for a 97 gran marq. Specifically I want to hotwire, the climate control , to give me heat and defrost for more then 2 minutes an hour. I've got the climate control unit out of the dash, and the relays click just before the heat comes on for a few minutes. Of course that was an invitation to smack things with the screw driver. OOPS If there are no heater fuses hiding, besides the ones over the parking brake, I've now also destroyed the unit. Blocks of wood on the vacumm actuators, and wiring the fan direct will work with my unemployment check just fine. BRrrrrr it cold in the car...

View 8 RepliesFord - E150 :: 1997 - When Turn On Climate Control Unit No Air From Any Vents Above Or Below Dash
I have a 97 E-150 with A/C. When I turn on the climate control unit to either heat or a/c and the blower motor fan control switch to any setting I do not feel anything coming from any vents above or below the dash. However every once in awhile I can hear that it is putting a small strain on the motor as the motor tends to bog down a little like it normally does when the a/c is on. When the heater control unit is turned off there is no strain on the motor.
I don't want to go replacing things and blowing money that isn't necessary on parts that aren't bad. I would like to get this fixed before the cold weather actually gets here.
Passat (B5) :: Climate Control Backlight Went Out - How To Replace Bulb
This has manual knobs - NOT CLIMATRONIC. This actually happened months ago, I bought a new bulb, pulled trim piece and it looked like a PITA. It appeared that I would have to remove the radio to pull the climate control module, but I didn't want to bother w that at the moment. I'm sorta hoping that it is like the B5 Passats in that the bulb is just behind one of the knobs and it's accessible by pulling the knob off. I wasn't sure though, so I didn't want to start pulling on stuff till it broke.

I'm wondering if there is a 100% way to check and see if my climate control module is bad. No lights work on it, it doesn't turn on the ac or the blower. I took it off it all seems to be decent from what I can tell. But its just not working.
View 1 RepliesDodge - Caravan :: 1998 - Wipers Come On At Random / Climate Control Blower Often Not Coming On
I've had problems with "phantom" or "ghost" wipers on my 1998 Dodge Caravan for the last few years. They come on at random, whether the switch is engaged or not, and stay on for random times, sometimes continuously. No manipulation in the multifunction switch changes the operation. They just come on and go off as they please. Furthermore, the climate control blower will often act up, not coming on right away, sometimes taking several minutes of driving before it starts blowing. I've also noticed a very occasional problem with the instrument panel not functioning and then later starting to work again. I've seen a lot about the BCM being the problem, but it would seem like if the BCM was malfunctioning it wouldn't ever work right. This FEELS like a grounding or wiring damage issue.
View 8 RepliesSanta FE SM (2001-06) :: Climate Control - Blower Motor Constantly Running Anytime Key Is Turned On
I have an 04 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L V6 AWD with climate control. All other trucks this year I've only seen with manual HVAC controls. My blower motor is constantly running anytime the key is turned on. It feels like it is blowing 3/4 strong all the time and I can turn it up, what feels like one setting higher. Even if the climate control is turned off it keeps blowing. I can control the temp and AC and defroster, I just cannot control the actual airflow pressure from the vents. On an older car this seems like a resistor issue. Is this a common issue? If so, what can I do to try to rectify this?
View 4 RepliesElantra MD (2010-15) :: Replace Navigation / Display With Regular Head Unit
I have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra with 170,000 miles on it. The Navigation display is toast and I am not going to be buying a new one. The car will be out the door when/if it makes it to 250k miles. I want to simply go to eBay and buy a used unit from a totaled Hyundai Elantra and just use that. Connections look the same except there are not jacks for a couple of the plugs that are on the Navigation unit. Those are obviously meant for the navigation display and the back-up camera, which I will lose by going to the regular audio/bluetooth unit. The navigation has always sucked anyway, so I don't care about that. I just want to be sure that the bluetooth and the radio work once I switch them out. I already have the Nav unit uninstalled. The screen is busted on it.
Current Unit (Navigation)
P/N: 96560-3X101FP
Model: AVN-700MDNA
Used Unit (Regular Audio/Bluetooth Unit):
P/N: 96170-3X161BLH
Model: PA-710MDLSBBLH
Will this one work?

I own a 2003 Accent (LC) ... After verifying my AC evaporator unit is leaking, I had replaced it with a new one.

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: Climate Control Turns Off Sporadically
I purchased an '07 Elantra used about six months ago. Ever since I bought it, an issue with the climate control would pop up every few weeks.
Here's the issue: I'll hear a "click" under the passenger glove compartment, then the climate control would turn off. By "turn off", I mean if I have it on heat, then the heat would turn off. If I have it on AC, then the AC would turn off (including the little green AC light) and I get hot air (not ambient air from outside, but *hot* air). It turns off... then it turns back on. Then maybe a few seconds later it will do it again. Sometimes it turns off for a few seconds, sometimes it turns off for less than a second... for example... AC is on, blowing cold air... *click* :hot air: *click* back to cold air... a few seconds later, same thing happens.
The clicks seem completely random, and not triggered by any events, such as going over bumps in the road.

Elantra XD (2001-06) :: Dash Lights Including Radio And Climate Control Not Working
I just bought a 2005 Elantra GT 5 speed. Nice car but the dash lights (including the radio and climate control) don't work. All fuses are good the rheostat (dimmer) is fine. Checked the continuity from the dimmer to the back of the dash instrument panel all checked OK. Light bulbs are good.
Basically it appears that I am getting power to the panel lights, yet they don't work. The radio appears to be stock with a factory plug. All other lights and electrical gadgets work fine. I can not find a schematic to check grounding.
