Camry :: 2007 XLE Honks Quickly 3 Times When Starting
i just picked up an '07 Camry XLE and every time I start the car (push start button) the horn gives me 3 quick honks. Same happens with the remote start. How to turn that off? Besides just not starting the car

I have a 2000 VW passat, and yesterday when I tried to parking, the alarm turned on immediately after I switched off the car and the warning lights of EPC, generator and Malfunction all turned on. So I sat inside the car and read the manual book but found nothing I want. The alarm persisted for several minutes. And when I got out of the car, the alarm turned on again.
The worse is when I tried to bring a friend to take a look, this situation would not reappear, so it seemed like that it will just turn on and turn off randomly.
Impala - Chevrolet :: 2003 - Keeping Alarm System Turned Off?
I have had to disarm my alarm system in my 2003 Impala (done via the radio) due to what appears to be a flaw in the system. It is telling my car I am trying to steal it and thus it won't start. As soon as I turned the "alarm" system off the car started right up. From my research this seems to be a consistant issue with this car. My question is by switching off the alarm system, am I doing any long term/short term damage to the computer system/car? I have a scheduled appointment for later this week with the dealership, but from what I have read on line (going back to 2007) the car maker is aware of this glitch and has not been responsive in fixing it without being paid. I bought a warranty when I got the car back in Dec of last year, but not sure if something like this would fall under it's coverage. If just keeping the alarm system turned off allows me to start and drive my car without damage, unless they plan on fixing the glitch for free I can't see spending the hundreds of dollars I am reading it will take to fix it.

Today I came out of a store & my car started beeping the panic alarm. I don't carry the key fob with me, just a key. I unlocked the door, sat down, put the key in & turned the ignition. The lights all lit on the dashboard as normal but the car did not start. absolutely nothing. I was at a loss for what to do.
Fortunately, someone came out of the store & asked me if I needed a jump & explained what happened, and he said let me try something. He tried to start the car, then got out of it, locked the door, unlocked the door, sat back down & tried again. The car started right up.
The car is a 2014 Elantra SE with the Premium Package.
Camry :: Cooling Fans Will Not Come On Except When AC Turned On And Stop Working When AC Turned Off
2003 camry 2.4 ... This is what is happening, cooling fans will not come on except when the AC is turned on and they will stop working when the AC is turned off, otherwise the car will over heat.
This is what I have done...Replaced the fans (because the radiator fan was bad, after hooking them up directly to the battery). I checked all the grounds, including the one under the intake, checked the fuses, checked relays using 12vots to the relay and used a ohm meter to see if it made contact when activated, on the three fan relays. Replaced and tested the new radiator sensor using a pot of water on the cooking stove with a cooking temperature gauge and ohm meter. It tested ok.
Unplug the radiator sensor while the car is running, the fans will come on, but go off as soon as it is plug back in, even when the motor is over heating. Also replaced the thermostat.
What can I do next, before I burn the motor up trying to fix it? Motor just started running rough. Just now pulled up a code of the number three cylinder miss firing
Montana :: 2001 Van Honks While Driving
My wife has complained that the van with on occasion honk when she is driving it. It has never done this one me but I have to admit it is her car so I don't drive it nearly as much. She said it is usually at a stop sign or when she is going through a drive through or something like that. Just one short honk and nothing else. We have no other problems with the van right now believe it or not. It has had some other electrical issues but seems to be doing ok for now. The electric slider door has a mind of it own depending on the day. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I have kinda just gave up on it and let it do it's thing but the honking is embarrassing and I will have to figure out what it causing that.

I purchased my v in April and it has a single honk when I start the ignition. This always causes folks to turn around and look at me and creates a false sense of urgency for my wife if I'm waiting in the car for her.

109,000 miles into my 2009 Prius with no problems, I'm having an annoying issue with the alarm. Sometimes - about half the time, without any discernible reason - when I power the car on, it gives three rapid, very short honks. I can't relate it doing this to anything - doors can be open or closed, it can have sat for a week or have just been turned off, ect. I have the KARR factory alarm thing installed, but it seems to function normally.

I recently added factory remote start to my truck, installed the antenna, bought and programmed a new 4 button key and had the dealer activate the feature. That part was smooth. I have since bought another 4 button key and cannot get the head part to program. I am following the same steps as before, doors closed, cycle the door locks and leave unlocked with the button on the door. cycle the ignition 8 times, leaving in ON position (with original factory key). the door locks cycle on their own. When I push a button on ANY fob, the horn honks and nothing else happens. Any fob, the new unprogrammed FOB, the existing programmed FOBs, the horn honks. This tells me the new FOB is being read, but not retained.

My dad has a very low mileage '12 Camry XLE with the 4-cylinder motor. Recently, the alarm will just go off randomly. After re-arming it, it may go off again in a few minutes, and may do this many times in a row. Or, weeks may pass where it doesn't happen at all. It is a really annoying issue. The battery is fully charged, and both FOBs had their batteries replaced.
I know if it is brought to the dealer, and the problem cannot be replicated while there, they will tell us that they cannot diagnose it. I have read that it may be the hood latch and sensor.

I've had an intermittent problem with my factory alarm going off for no reason at all. I replaced the Courtesy light switch on the driver's side hoping to stop my problem. Earlier I found the connector was barely on the button switch and after discovering that I thought the problem would stop. I feel like this car is possessed!

I can't get Pop's 2004 Camry to start because the alarm keep going off. He's been driving it fine since he lost the fob 2 years ago until today.
Already removed the fuse which only kill the horn but can't get the engine to turnover. Disconnected the battery, that didn't work either.
I looked under the steering wheel and there are tons of wires so obviously I didn't know which ones to disconnect to bypass the alarm.
Camry :: 2011 XLE Alarm Go Off While Car Was Sitting In Driveway
I recently purchased my 2011 Camry XLE and have had the car alarm go off while the car was sitting in my driveway. This happened a few times and I thought I would push the plunger door switch in and out a couple of times to see if this would work. It did for a while like 2 weeks and then yesterday the car alarm went off again while it was sitting in my driveway again.
I grabbed my key and hit the door open button which turned off the alarm and locked the doors with the remote key fob. About an hour later the alarm went off again. I stopped the alarm again by hitting the open door button and then went out and pushed the door plunger button in and out again. So far the alarm hasn't gone off again.
When this first happened I took it back to the dealer and they said they tested the alarm system and found nothing wrong with it. Is it safe to assume that it is a bad door button? Is there any record in the car's computer that would tell when the alarm went off and why? Can the door plunger button be adjusted to correct this?
Camry :: 2008 - Factory Alarm Randomly Goes Off
My 08' Camry i4 LE has been locking the same way..... I press the lock button twice, then the car honks once, and everyone's happy.
About a week ago, my car started honking twice after I press the lock button twice. This hasnt happened in 1.5 years but it didnt really bug me.. at first.
My problem is... my car's alarm goes off randomly after I lock it. It's like someone pressing the panic button on my fob.. What is wrong with my car all of a sudden??
I read another thread and have disconnected the battery. I will wait an hour and re-connect to check again. I've also read somewhere that I might need a "latch and sensor replacement"..
