Camry :: 1998 - Reset Code 16408 / Radio Didn't Come On
I have a 98 camry w factory alarm and the battery died out..When i replaced it the radio didn't come on. What is the procedure to reset it? The code is on the front -16408.
After turning on I tried holding the 1 button with tune up and saw nothing on screen. The fuses are ok and the cd player eject button works(is on top of radio/cassette player). Nothing comes on screen through entire procedure.
What to try to even pull it up for entering code?

I took of the brake light above the rear glass hatch, it does not come on when braking, it is a LED light, tested with a 9v battery and worked ok but not working while installed, fuses are ok. Should I just buy a new one and replace it?

My girlfriend just bought a 98 XLT AWD 4.0. does have a few problems.
First, the brake light is on (on the dash). all the lines are good, but the front pads need to be changed. if i take off hard, the brake light goes out for a bit.
Second, had a CEL. P0743, torque converter clutch circuit blah blah. also, the o/d light flashes constantly.
The trans shifts fine, even under WOT. also goes into o/d with no problems, and the button works.

I went to pick up the car and the mechanic said it was a coincidence that the light is on after the brake and alignment job. I pulled out of my driveway yesterday (2014 Subaru Legacy 2.5 H4 engine, CVT) and about a half mile from the house, I noticed the brake light blinking. Along with it, the traction control icon was on steady, the cruise control icon was blinking (CC off) and the check engine light on steady. I turned around and went home. According to the owners manual, the blinking brake light meant a defect in the electronic parking brake. The car may not be safe to drive.
I pulled the code P1449 which according to the code reader means "air filter clog". The car has 33k on it and I changed the filter at 30k. I pulled the snorkel and checked it and it was clear.
Since it is under warranty, I called the dealer to schedule the repair. I asked the service advisor if it was safe to drive and she told me that the blinking brake light was only to get my attention that the check engine light was on. BTW, the parking brake seems to be working just fine, setting and releasing normally.
Camry :: VSC And TRAC OFF Light Won't Go Away - CEL Code
I recently had a CEL code for bank 2 cat converter.. I drove the car with the CEL for 8 months and one day the VSC and TRAC OFF light popped on and wouldn't go away. I took it to toyota and they told me that it is because the check engine light is on and once the CEL goes off the others should as well. Well i recently replaced the bank 2 cat and cleared the CEL and iv driven over 300 miles already the CEL has not come back on but the VSC and TRAC OFF light remain ON....

Got a cel on a 2009 Elantra the other day. Put my cheapie code reader on it and got a double hit on P0441. It showed two codes, both P0441. This is the first time I got this code. I had gotten gas the day before and thought it might be from over filling or a loose gas cap like my S10. I made sure the gas cap was tight and went to reset the code. It would not reset even though the code reader said "Done". Checked today and there is only 1 P0441 code showing. Tried to reset, but the same thing. Code reader says "Done" and the code remains.
Car starts and runs fine. I see no loose wires or anything amiss. I did hit a curb a few days ago. What could I have knocked loose? Do I need to go to someone with a better code reader? Is this a drive cycle thing?

2008 F-150, King Ranch. 5.4 ... After installing new Blend door and actuator. Then running diagnosis along with reset. The blend door works and moves but the code won't reset. Door closes tight and air gets hot when raising EATC temp control. I have run the reset and checked the code several times. Just keeps coming up with a 22 and 66. Also, This pickup has a brand new AC system and it doesn't cool for anything. 55F. after ambient temp crosses 90F.

This morning, during a routine drive to work in my 2007 Toyota Prius, my instrument panel lit up with the brake light and ABS light. The car braked normally, although when I tested the anti-lock brakes in a parking lot, the car slid and the ABS did not engage. I brought it to a shop - they ran a diagnostic and came up with a Malfunction of the Hydraulic System - right rear. They said I need to take it to a dealer for repairs. This car has cost me a lot in repairs over the last year...and with 170,000 miles, I'm not willing to put in a lot more.
