Accent RB (2012+) :: Starter Engaged And Turned Over And Over But Engine Wouldn't Start

I have about 26,000 Miles on it, this afternoon I tried to start it. The starter engaged and turned over and over and over, but the engine wouldn't start. Then I took the key out, waited 5 seconds, and tried again, it started. It was about 60 degrees out, so it wasn't cold. Half a tank of gas.

This may seem a little petty, but its a 2012 with only 26,000 Miles on it.

Camry 2012+ :: Grinding Noise On Startup When Engine Completely Cold

I start noticing a weird noise upon cold start up. It sounds like something is grinding. First goes starter sound and then engine noise together with this grinding noise. Grinding noise goes away within sec. or so. It is not really loud, but it definitely not engine or starter sound.

It happens only on cold starts when engine is completely cold. If I start engine, let it run for few minutes, shut it down and restart again, it starts without grinding noise. Don't remember if car was doing it from beginning, never turned car while I was outside. Few weeks ago when temperature dropped below freezing point, I turned ignition through passenger door to warm up the engine.

After that I begun listening every start up. Every start up same noise. Every morning and every time after work I hear this noise. No noise if car been driven recently or engine is still warm.

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2010 XLT - Traction Control Engaged - Grinding Noise In The Back?

For some reason, when I go up/down driveways, pull into parking lots with sloped curbs, etc, my traction control will engage and there is a grinding noise in the back on the back brakes. I don't know if this is normal or not. I had all the brakes replaced recently but that didn't stop the issue, so I don't know if this is just normal or what. Is this normal and if not, what it might be?

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2004 F250 - Grinding Noise When Hubs Are Engaged

Okay this is what I got; I recently purchased high mileage 2004 F250 Super Duty short box super cab 5.4 liter. Came with manual 4x4 handle on the floor so no 4 wheel on the fly and this eliminates the vacuum for the auto hubs so this will not be part of the problem. When engaging the hubs and ONLY when engaged the driver side hub grinds. The 4 wheel drive works but it sounds like its ready to grind itself into oblivion. I did pull the hub and the grinding was gone, I happen to have a spare hub that is good and the grinding returned.

I have jacked it up and made sure I have no play in the wheel itself and the axle knuckle on the axle shaft. Some say remove the front drive shaft? Or turn the wheels all the way in one direction engage the hubs and check for binding? I will do this in the morning, but what does that confirm if it not the hub. Could it be the passenger side echoing across? On my 99 Super duty I kept hearing moaning coming from up front like the breaks were shot and if you stuck your head out the window it was the back echoing to make it sound like the front.

Camry 2012+ :: Buzzing / Static Noise Coming From Rear Deck Of 2013 SE

2013 Camry SE: I am experiencing some buzzing/static noise coming from the rear deck. It happens randomly on rough pavements. I know it is not the license plates because I removed the entire plate off and drove around the block and I can still hear this noise.

Camry 2012+ :: 2013 Sunroof Making Scratching Noise Due To Plastic Fallen Out

I first noticed that the sunroof was making scratching noises when I opened and closed it then finally noticed the plastic on one side had just fallen out. I put it back, but it just eventually falls out again.

Camry 2012+ :: 2013 SE With Faint Droning / Humming Sound - Suspension Noise?

I love the car, but had a few small gripes, including ride firmness and road noise. Well, the ride firmness has definitely calmed down a great deal over the first 3500 miles to now I find it has a perfect balance of handling vs. comfort. It's firm, but the bumps are not as jarring as those first 500 miles or so. I'm very happy with it.

The 2nd issue I hd/have, is road noise... or rather... I think... suspension noise. It's a faint droning/humming sound that I think comes mostly from the rear. You can start hearing it at 20-30mph on all but the smoothest of roads. The noise seems to be *in addition* to the very, very minimal tire noise I hear from the very nice stock Michelins. The harsher the road, the louder the noise of course.

My guess (and it's only a guess?) is that the metal bushing ('pillow ball') in the rear along with the other firmer suspension parts are the primary cause of this noise.

So I have tried a couple of things to try and counteract this noise:

1) Put D'amplifier Pro in the trunk - Got down the bare metal and put the stuff all of the place back there... Above the wheel wells also.

This did not stop the noise I hear.

2) I then put some sound deadening foam mats above both rear wheel wells.

This did not work.

The strange thing is that this noise is pretty faint, but unmistakable... however if I move my head forward (say, right in line with the steering wheel) 2 feet.... I barely hear it. But when I move back to the normal driving position, there it is.

Camry 2012+ :: 2013 SE - Steering Clunk / Knocking Noise At Slow Speeds

I have a '13 SE that I purchased new last year and recently I've noticed a noise in my steering when I am turning the wheel at slow speeds.

It's like a clunking or knocking noise when I turn the wheel either right or left all the way. I'm totally clueless as to what could cause this sort of noises.

So I have the well known starter grinding noise since I bought the car six months ago. Is there really any danger to the flywheel or the starter itself not fixing this? I don't mean from a purist point of view, of course it's not good. I don't really care about the noise. Does it maybe 1 out of 3 starts in the cold. Camry 2012+ :: Needle Staying At 25 MPG When Going Down A Long Hill

I never reset my avg MPG readout but this morning I did. The digital readout jumped to 99.9mpg (was going down a long hill) but the needle stayed at 25mpg. If anything I thought it would have jumped to the highest possible which would have been 60 i think.. it didn't budge. I tried resetting a few times after that and it still stayed at 25 no matter what the digital one said.. how to fix it? I seriously probably haven't reset it in almost 2 years so is it possible the needle is literally just stuck from not being reset? The mpg needle doesn't bother me that much but if that's the quality of the gauge needles I worry about the gas one quitting on me..

Camry 2012+ :: Long Beep And Error Message Showed On

I have a 15 Camry, and the other day after about five minutes of driving, the BSM (blind spot monitor) gave a long beep and then an error message to check the BSM showed on the instrument cluster. I tried to reset it while driving by turning the BSM on/off. This didn't work.

After restarting the car, it went away. I've never had a car with BSM, and didn't see any damage to the bumper.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Starter Stays Engaged Until Put In Gear

I might have a chance to pick up an 1997 F150 with a 4.6 pretty cheap. He has replaced the ignition switch and lock cylinder, Says it keeps turning over until you put in in gear. In my experience a solenoid that is sticking wont stop until you disconnect the battery, just wondering what people think it might be? I am thinking I will just put a push button stater to make it work if its a wiring issue.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Starter Making A Grinding Noise And Bolts Backed Out

2002 Ford 7.3L 2WD 200K miles ....My starter was making a grinding noise and the bolts had backed out. Wound up replacing the starter all together. Seemed to work for a little while and then went back to making the grinding noise again. I took the starter back and got a warranty replacement and took it to the shop last week to have it installed with lock-tite. It worked perfectly for a few days and then went back to grinding again yesterday afternoon. Why it is still doing it? I bought a new Duralast Gold 5154 starter from Autozone.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: Truck Started On Its Own / Wouldn't Shut Off And Starter Engaged In Park

So I turned off my truck the other day, got out, and it started again on its own. Confused, I looked in my hand to see my key. I got back in, and tapped the brake thinking the command start had engaged, even though I did not have the remote with me. It continued to run. So I put the key back in the ignition, turned it to ON and back OFF. It still ran. I had to run inside for a half a minute so I left it running.

Came back and drove away with no issues. When I stopped again about 2 minutes later and shifted to PARK, the starter engaged making it's terrible 'hey stupid, I'm already running' sound. I tried shutting it OFF quickly but it still ran and made it's skinning crawling noise. So I quickly shifted back to DRIVE. All the gears worked fine but PARK and NEUTRAL had the starter engaging. I also could not shut the truck off from DRIVE as the key would not turn.

I drove over to a local garage and called them from the truck as I was effectively trapped in the truck with my foot on the brake, unable to shift to PARK or turn it OFF. No supporting staff. So I drove back to work where I had a co-worker remove the battery cable at which point I was able to shift to PARK and turn OFF the truck. I let it sit like that for about 10 minutes and haven't had a problem since.

What happened?? And for the record I can put gas in the tank and changed my own oil, but that is the extent of my vehicle knowledge.

Golf IV R32 :: Grinding At A Full Stop With Clutch Fully Engaged

Within the past 2 weeks I've been noticing that when I shift hard into 2nd and 3rd, I manage to grind the gears slightly. At first I thought that maybe I wasn't engaging the clutch fully but after enduring rush hour traffic in the hilly streets of SF yesterday, I noticed that I could replicate the grinding at a full stop with the clutch fully engaged which makes me think that maybe my clutch is going bad.

I'm a bit unsure since the car still pulls up the hills like a champ (maybe it could be pulling harder?) and need to point out tell tale signs to look for when your clutch is starting to fail and requires replacement.

If my problem is not due to clutch, what could it be? If it is, any good place in bay area to take the R? I plan to replace with stock set up.

Currently I have stock clutch w/ +73k miles. I did have an episode where a car transporter managed to make thick grey smoke pour from my clutch due to ineptitude so clutch failure would not surprise me.
