Camry :: 2009 XLE - Removing Back Deck Cover To Replace Speakers
I have a 2009 Camry XLE with the split reclining rear seats and the retractable (stupid) sunshade. I bought new 6x9's to replace speakers all around (Infinity 9632) with adapter plates. Got the door speakers replaced easily enough, but for the life of me I cannot figure out the rear deck. It is all one piece of plastic, no removable speaker grills. And of course the speakers are screwed in top down. Most of the posts I have found on the internet are either for previous gen Camry's or people who have the folding down rear seat.
So after a lot of manual labor I was able to remove the back seat completely and the center console. I can pop the front of the back plate up and peek in, but cannot get it to come out. I think something is odd with the models with the retractable sunscreen and reclining seats.
I have scoured the internet endlessly. Closest post I found was "take off the rear side panels (by the back window) and the deck should pop out. There are airbags in there, not very keen on forcing anything.
The car has the "premium" JBL sound system which I found to not be so "premium" and was a serious step down from my last car's factory stereo.
Camry 2012+ :: Buzzing / Static Noise Comes And Go From Rear Passenger Speakers
Experiencing static noise coming from their 2013 Camry SE rear passenger speakers? The noise comes and goes. It depends on the road and the distance. I've had someone sit back there and it sounds like metal grinding or rubbing against each other. The noise is faint but can get annoying.
View 6 RepliesCamry :: 2014 - Replacing Of Rear Shoes - 4mm
I have no experience with drum brakes. I have no clue how long they are good for and what to look for in terms of wear. I assumed last week that with 226K miles on the car that the shoes must be reaching the end of their life. I went on Ebay and bought the spring kits and new shoes.
The last time I inspected the shoes was when the car had 100K miles on it. They didn't look too bad. When I started to replace the shoes after just buying all of the parts they looked almost the same as they did when the car had 100K on it. The rear facing shoes are about 5mm thick and the forward facing shoes at the thinnest part near the middle are 3mm thick. The specs in the maintenance manual give 5mm normal and 1 mm minimum.
Since I already have all of the parts and can't return them should I replace the shoes anyway? The manual says if the shoes show uneven wear to replace them. The rear facing shoes have even wear from top to bottom while the forward facing shoes are thicker on the ends and are thinner in the middle. The only issue that I have with the rear brakes is with the parking brake. I have the parking brake cable adjusted all the way and it will barely hold the car in place while in neutral. The shoes that I purchased are made by Wagner and being brand new are not even all the way across. They are also only 4mm thick.
Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Replacing Shocks Absorbers And Struts For Front And Rear
I went into a shop today and got my corolla checked out and they said that its shock absorbers and struts should be replaced because the oils were leaking and they told me the total estimate of my cost (parts+labors) are about 1300 dollars.
Like, do I need to buy all shock absorbers, struts and strut springs for each of the wheel? (front 2 + rear 2 = total of 4 of each) ??
Camry :: 2009 - Replacing Clutch Slave Cylinder And Manual Transmission Fluid
First of all this is also my first camry and I noticed that there is only 1 reservoir for the slave and the brakes - which is unique to cars Ive owned in the past. My question is when I remove my slave cylinder from the trans and unhook the hard lines from it would this introduce air into the brake lines since they share the same reservoir? Should I remove the brake fluid from the reservoir before I disconnect the slave? I am wondering because If i just disconnect the lines brake fluid will leak from them between the time I disconnect the old slavecyl and hook the new one up.
Also regarding the trans fluid. my le has 80,000 miles on it and I am not sure whether or not the previous owner ever changed it before. I am having a hard time finding information about how much fluid and exactly which fluid to use. All I know is that gl-4 is the safest choice, butis it ok to use red line mt-90 or amsoil MTF? I dont want to ruin the trans by putting in the wrong fluid and/or wrong quantity.
Lexus RX 2004-09 :: 2005 RX330 - Lost ALL Windows Control After Replacing Front Door Speakers
I recently replaced my front door speakers in my 2005 RX330. Upon reassembling everything I had the following issues:
1) The front Passenger side window and rear seat windows would not roll down from the driver's side controls. This issue was resolved by going to each individual window control and rolling the window down halfway and then rolling them all the way up and continuing to press on the window control in the "Up" position for an additional 5 seconds or so.
2) My original Lexus key (non-remote) would work for staring the car, but it would no longer work to unlock the doors by inserting it into the Driver's side door lock and moving the key toward the front of the car.
3) In attempting to resolve issue #2, I disconnected the Car battery for a couple of hours and reconnected it, which leads me to my big problem(s). Now none of my windows will roll down from ANY window control (including the front door driver's window). In addition, the doors can only be locked/unlocked from the Lexus Key Remote or from the front Passenger door lock control.
I have checked all fuses that I could get to (under the hood and under the drivers side dash panel) but I still cannot get the windows or door locks to function normally. I could not get to one big blue fuse under the dash panel right next to the fusebox that I believe is related to the power windows. I am not sure if it also fuses the sunroof, which DOES function. I pulled the Negative Battery cable off a second time and did another reset but to no avail.
Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Sound Do Not Come From Speakers
I have cd radio and aux all working on my 2010 corolla, the sound do not come from speakers. I tried another radio it works. I tried another stereo with tape in it it doesn't work. I tried my stereo on another car it works. What I don't understand is why only stereo with radio only works but if i have cd or tape player with it don't.
View 9 RepliesCorolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Installing New Stereo With JBL Speakers?
I have a 2009 corolla XRS with the JBL speaker package and recently received a new stereo GPS unit from eonon, the GM5169.[URL] Their website says its suppose to work with the model car and year, but did not say anything about not working with the JBL speakers.
When I went to install it yesterday the wiring harness did not match up with the set up that was already in the original stereo. The only one that did connect was the controls for the steering wheel.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2009 GLS Radio - Loud Pop Through Speakers
While playing the radio or a CD the unit will frequently generate a LOUD "pop" thru the speakers. It will repeat itself at various intervals which leads to my turning the unit off as it's most disturbing. I temporarily removed the negative battery cable but that didn't reset / correct it.
View 1 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: 2009 - Front Speakers Not Working
My front speakers have stopped working. I thought it was the stereo itself (why would both speakers stop?) but I've replaced the head unit and still nothing. No buzz, nothing. Which leads me to think it's something else.
View 5 RepliesTiguan :: 2009 - Buzzing Static Noise From All Speakers When Car Is Off And On?
Our 2009 SEL is equipped with the RNS-510 but no bluetooth. This is an early US model. Upon leaving for work yesterday and a few moments after openning the door to get inside the car, a buzzing static noise started playing from all of the speakers. Imagine white noise with a bee hive and that is the sound. The noise started before we put the key in the ignition. The noise stopped momentarily as we cranked the starter, but continued afterward. Turning on the RNS510 resulted in muffled sound like music inside a can on top of the static. Turning the unit on/off didn't change anything. Turning the motor on/off did nothing to change anything.
For the 20 minute drive to work the noise continued. My wife parked the car and the sound continued as she went into work. At the end of the day, upon returning to the vehicle the noise was gone and has not come back.
This is the second time in about 2 years this has happened. I scanned for codes and didn't get any. We have an iPhone video of it (not sure how to post that) to share at the next service. Currently the vehicle has 37,000 miles (relatively trouble free).
Tiguan :: 2009 - Back Two Speakers Quit Working?
I am rocking an 09 Tiguan which unfortunately is out of warranty. Last night while listening to music my back two speakers quit working and still aren't working. I don't see how I could have blown them both at the same time, my volume was only at 16.

My iPhone 4s shifts from car (Lexus 350RX 2012) speaker to phone speaker and back constantly when I'm on a call. I have erased the pairing between the phone and the car and repaired it, I have also reset the phone to no avail. Lexus says my car firmware is up to date. It has to do with Bluetooth AVRCP 1.4 compatibility.

View 2 RepliesCamry :: Speakers Went Static With Radio Off
So a few months ago my 2009 Camry all stock stereo stopped playing. (Been a while and I pulled the fuse so I don't remember if the head units face lit up)one morning I got in it and as soon as I cranked on the ignition all I hear was static from the speakers even though the radio was off. I looked it up on google back then & remember seeing a topic elsewhere were the person had the same exact issue and said one of the trunk torsion bars came loose & whacked something in trunk compartment that screwed up the stereo. I checked my trunk & sure enough, one of the bars had came loose on one side.
View 2 RepliesCorolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: No Sound From Speakers But HU Working Fine
I have an '09 Corolla S with the non-JBL sound system, 6 disk in-dash changer and 6 speakers. I am getting no sound from the speakers except a small burst of static when I turn the ignition on and once in a while sporadic static. The Radio is still playing CD's, FM, Etc, but no sound. All fuses are good and the clock works. I disconnected the factory iPod interface and still nothing. I also tried a different aftermarket HU, but still no sound... I'm on the road all the time so I'm over 50,000k and there is no warranty left on the radio. I've also torn the dash out checking wires and connections and can't seem to find anything abnormal.

View 7 RepliesPrius C (Audio/Electronics) :: How To Put Speakers In The Rear Doors
As you all know there are no speakers in the rear door of a Prius C one. There are also no wires for a speaker. No big deal, I have pulled wire into a door many times. Can't do it! The rubber boot that goes through the door has a wire harness connector that covers the entire boot in the pillar, it actually looks like one piece. How to remove that connector to get access into the door with a speaker wire? I managed to to unhook the harness but in doing so the plastic clip that looks it broke off. Not good.
