Accent RB (2012+) :: Creaking Noise On Releasing Clutch Pedal
On releasing the clutch pedal, a creaking noise can be heard, which:
- sounds and feels like a rusty spring being unloaded
- occurs for the entire range of pedal travel, but worse near the bottom
- is louder outside the car than inside
- happens not only when driving, but also when stationary with the engine off
I don't think anything is wrong with the clutch itself, or any bearings, or major components... It just feels like something needs to be lubed. I've lubed the spring above the pedal inside the car, with no real effect.

Last night, I replaced both front struts with Monroe complete sets (new springs, mounts, boots, struts, etc) and I had my front rotors smoothed out. That cleared up about 75% of the noises coming from the front of my car Except for one.
Whenever I'm braking, there is a noise coming from my front left wheel. It's not a brake squeal, but more like a creaking sounds that comes around with each rotation of the wheel. It slows down with the car, and I can make it last longer by doing a slow roll with the brakes one. So when I'm fast it sounds like "Crk! Crk! Crk!" When I'm going slow it's "Creeeeeak... Creeeeeeak... Creeeeeak..."
Last night, I also replaced the sway bar link on that side. The brakes are smooth and the tires were balanced a couple months ago (no steering wobbles at any speed)

I have a 2010 base blue. I have noticed a creaking noise somewhere in the front end with windows up when you turn the wheels left or right. It is barely noticeable but there none the less. I have tried pinpointing it and it seems to be outside the cabin but not at the wheels.

I have some noise coming from the front suspension. It is a popping/sorta creaking noise. I hear it mostly when turning, but sometimes while going straight. It is not a grinding sound, nor is it a high pitched sound. I took it to my mechanic, but they drove it and could not replicate the noise. They inspected the front end, and said everything looked fine. But I still hear the noise. The car has a little over 40k miles on it. No problems with the tires...no irregular wear, and no wandering. I looked at the front end, and didn't find anything obvious. I cannot replicate the noise just by pushing on the fenders up and down.

Driving 2012 Elantra with 29K on the Meter in AZ with temps at 105 degrees. I am getting a clicking clunking noise. Dealership said Strut mounts and replaced them. Drove it off the lot and the noise was still there. Wont go back to that dealership. Creaking clunking noise more frequently now and has shifted from the passenger side to the driver side predominantly. End links? Axles? Brake assembly, Hub? I first heard it when I went over a speed bump at 3-5 mph. Now it can be heard upon acceleration-deceleration, deceleration in neutral with brake only gets the loudest clunk on the Driver side. Ultimately its now constant on turns, bumps, rough roads & even smooth roads while changing lanes. What is causing this.

I was wonder for those of you that have lowered tigs, mainly coilovers, if you have expereince any creaking sounds in the front. I used my OEM sway bar/bushings/end links and I think that could be the issue. For those with coilover have you changed to shortened end links / aftermarket sway bar? My sound is not a constant issue. Mainly first thing in the morning, or if the Tig has been sitting for several hours, backing out of my driveway and pulling off at low speeds. Once I get to normal driving speeds, over 20 mph the sound goes away and doesn't come back unless it's been setting a while or I am backing out sharply and move forward at low speeds. Once back up over 20 mph it's going and I have no sound even at low speeds.

I am trying to troubleshoot a sound that I've begun to notice coming from the front of my '08 Prius. I've had this car since new, and it now has a little over 40,000 miles on it. (Please note the sound I'm referring to is not the brake pump electric "whirring" noise that happens evey so often, it's definitely something new/different.) About a week ago I started hearing this creaking sound from the front end when rolling slowly, in or out of gear, but not all the time. Today I heard it all through the stop and go traffic in NYC, and louder than ever (even my wife admitted that it existed!) but later, traffic eased up, and during and after about 40 mins. of 60 mph, the sound was gone, even when we re-entered town traffic. We parked briefly during the noisy period this morning, and I was able to reproduce the sound when pushing the front end down. Now, after the highway driving, no sound! Nothing else seems to be wrong. What the heck could this be? CV joint? Tie rods? control arms? The steering?

I am trying to track down a creaking sound in the front end. Happens when turning mainly left but occasionally right or slow speed turning the steering wheel. So , on my 2002 Ex 4x4 v10 I have a creaking noise coming from what sounds like under the front passenger floor board. My mother said she actually could feel a vibration in the floor when it made the sound today going to lunch. I cannot feel it on my side or the steering wheel. It is intermittent at various speeds and not any more or less prevalent when turning either direction.
Does not seem to interfere in anyway with steering or handling, just driving me nuts. Truck just had new brakes, rotors, and tires installed. Vehicle is new to me, picked it up yesterday. Did not notice it on test drive or 60 mile ride home, but now that I am aware of it , it is driving me nuts. Headed on a long 2 week trip this weekend.

I've noticed a creaking sound coming from the left front wheel when I go over a couple of particularly large speed bumps. I have had a lot of problems with the suspension in this car, and have replaced the front struts, the front right control arm, and the sway bar links and bushings. My best guess is that this noise is coming from the front left control arm, as it has not been replaced, although my current mechanic says that the front left control arm is fine. Also, it has been under 10 F here the past few days, so this could also just be a result of the cold weather.

MY '07 SuperCab just started making a strange rhythmic sound as I drive. It is coming from the drivers side front wheel area. It is like a short creaking sound. It stays the same if I am turning the tires. Seems to go away if I put the brakes on hard, but I slow down so much I am not sure. Front CV Joint?
