Accent MC (2006-11) :: AC Pump Audible And Seems To Wind Down When Come To A Stop From Any Speed
I have a two door hatchback (2010) and I love it! Simple as it is, I just can't complain. I think it is fun to drive, and easy on the fuel budget. But I digress. Because I am new to these cars, I am learning about the noises it makes and if they are normal or not. My question is this:
When driving around with the A/C on, I notice - as I come from any speed to a stop - that the A/C pump becomes audible and seems to "Wind Down." I can hear a little "whirring" or "groaning" sound which goes away (dies down) after a moment. It isn't terrible, and maybe it is normal. I just don't know! If it is not a ordinary operating noise, then to the shop we go! Also, I am going to install an aftermarket Cruise Control.
Accent RB (2012+) :: Wind Noise From Sunroof While Traveling At 80 Kmh
I have a 2013 Accent GLS hatch. There were no GLS hatches within 1700 kms available for a test drive when I was shopping, so I never got to test the sunroof before purchasing. I have had the car 10 weeks, and am not impressed with the wind noise from the sunroof while traveling at 80 kmh. I know, going that fast there will be some noise, but my XG350 probably makes 20% of the amount of noise from the Accent. I find it rather annoying, and ususally just close the sunroof unless I'm in the city...
My question is, if we install one of these 2011+ Accent Sunroof Wind Deflector ? did it improve or worsen the wind noise? Did it affect the 'partially open' or 'fully open' positions or both?
On a side note, thinking about these 2012+ Accent 5 Door Smoke Tinted Window Visors as well, so I can crack the side window to eliminate the "helicopter effect" when the sunroof is fully opened.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Sunroof Won't Seal Properly - Gap Creating Wind Noise
My Accent has a manually operated pop up type sunroof. Last summer I removed the glass on a particularly hot day. Unfortunately, when I put it back in that same day it would no longer seat properly along the front edge. When the sunroof is fully closed the front edge of the glass is raised above the seal. This gap creates a lot of wind noise and I'm concerned about water getting in now that winter is here. I've removed and re-installed the glass numerous times and just can't get it to lock down in the front. The metal mounting tabs on the front of the glass are going all the way into their slots. The back edge of the glass is sealing well and sinking flush with the black rim of the opening. The rubber gasket is in good condition with no warping or dislocation. I'm looking for some input before I start doing permanent things like bending the metal tabs or the roof opening.
View 2 RepliesAccent RB (2012+) :: Wind Noise From Driver Side Upper Window Area
2012 Accent. I have a wind noise issue. I don't mean that it's just loud. The driver's side upper window area has a crazy noise. It's a high pitched (is there another kind?) whistle. It is very inconsistent. I can not give any precise circumstance under which it appears, but it is definitely speed related. It appears from about 65-70 mph. But only sometimes. It also seems more common with cross winds, but it's hard to say for sure. I can not for the life of me pinpoint the origin. It seems to be around head level on the driver's door.

My 2013 Sonata came with a sunroof wind deflector. I'm somewhat hesitant to install it, since it might increase wind noise. It also might affect MPG. I like the looks of it, at least the pics I've seen of it.

Last few weeks I've been getting a bit of a whine getting into car. I thought it was a wheel bearing but I've discovered its wind noise from the sun roof.
My question is is the glass roof easy to get out and is there a aftermarket seal available as i suspect oem one will be arm and leg.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Screeching Wind Noise After Closing Sunroof
Out of nowhere began the horrendous screeching wind noise after closing my sunroof during this morning's commute. The sunroof had been dead-quiet all the years I've owned the car. This was not a gradual event, but quite sudden, and occurred after the third closure within 20 minutes. I cycled the sunroof open and closed several times, but to no avail. After arriving at work, I inspected the channels for debris, the rubber seal for failure, and the general appearance and alignment of the glass to the opening. Everything appeared normal. The only thing that alleviated the noise was slightly opening the driver side window, but this in not an acceptable solution.
View 2 RepliesFord - Explorer :: 2006 V6 - Weirdest Sounding Wind Noise
I've done some searching and see lots of "wind noise" threads but thought I would add this one. I was actually able to record the noise the other day. Here is the video.
Explorer Wind Noise IMG 1536 - YouTube
It's a 2010 Ford Explorer EB, V6, all-wheel drive.
It only happens when driving directly into an oncoming head-wind. If it's an especially windy day, it's REALLY bad. It comes from the right-bottom inside area of the passenger side. Kind of where the windshield meets the dash. I've tried shoving towels down there, no luck.
I've had two dealers try and diagnose and of course neither could hear it. I've tried opening and closing vents, window up or down, sunroof closed or open, AC on, off, etc... and it's got me stumped. My only thought is the windshield. It's happened since new and we've got 30k on this. It's my wife's and she's way more patient then me...... but after 30k it's starting to really get to her too!
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Wind Noise In 2 Front Windows When Driving On Highway Speeds
I have a lot of wind noise in my 2 front windows when driving highway speeds, no water leaks. I cannot find where it is coming from either, I assume it is either air rushing over the mirrors or thin glass. Sometimes it is worse than others, not sure if cross winds etc. Is that common in 2009 Sonata. My old 2003 Malibu, much quieter but mirrors were slightly more rounded if I remember.
View 12 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Driver Seat Leather Cracking / Wind Noise At Higher Speeds
My 2009 SE V6, I have the grey cloth/leather combo and the drivers seat is pretty much cracking. I am not sure if it is cheap or the unusually cold winters we had here in MD. The car has 28,000. I am going to show to the dealer because in the cracks, the dye is coming off. I had a Trailblazer LTZ for 3 years and never seen that happen but it was tan leather.
Second, my car at higher speeds has a lot of wind noise, I think it is the mirrors. I am going back to the dealer for my 30k gouging soon and I will show them the seat again.
Accent RB (2012+) :: 2013 - Loud Snap / Constant Sound Of Wind Like A Fan On High
I was driving and heard a loud SNAP and now there is a constant sound of wind like a fan on high.
View 15 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: Knocking Noise Under The Car For A While
Ok, I've been hearing the strangest noise under my car for awhile now. It sounds for all the world like a drum stick is hanging by a rope, swinging back and forth, and hitting against something solid. It makes 3-4 loud taps and the vibration can be felt through the gas pedal/floorboard. It ONLY happens when pulling out while turning left or right and going over a rough entrance like a rain gutter that bounces the car pretty decent. So whatever it is doesn't start swinging under normal driving. For the life of me I can't imagine what could be that heavy to make noise like that and not be causing any other problems.
View 4 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: Rattling Noise At Around 5k RPMs
So i noticed recently, last month or two, a rattling noise coming from either rear of engine or in dash that only happens when at the higher rpms like 4-6k rpm. It goes away once rpms come down.
I am thinking just something in the dash is vibrating a little. No other issues as far as i can tell.
It is very slight, almost sounds like a plastic food wrapper getting crinkled in there....
Accent MC (2006-11) :: Clutch Gone Out - Bearing Noise
My daughter was driving to work a couple of nights ago and ran over what she thought was a 2x4 blowing out the R/F tire. The next morning we got a new tire put on. She drive it back to work and when she came home, she said the engine was making a funny noise when she pushed the clutch in. I opened the hood and had her start it. No funny noises. I then had her push the clutch in and as soon as the hydraulic cylinder started to move out, I could hear a bearing noise which I attributed to the throw out bearing. I figured I would need to be putting in a new clutch soon and wondered why I hadn't done it when we put the new engine in last year. The next night, she called me from work and said the clutch didn't work and she coasted into her parking lot space at work. She said she tried to shift it into gear but it wouldn't, either with the engine running or not running. We put it on a trailer and towed it home. I think the running over the board and the possibility of the throw out bearing is just a coincidence but ???? The clutch cylinder does push the rod and throw out bearing fork forward but now no noise. Total failure of the T/O bearing??? This car has really been a test of my patience and wallet.

Accent MC (2006-11) :: Noise When Brake Is Released
My Hyundai Accent 2006 with 98000km has a noise when the brake is released. Braking is ok and seems to work well. This noise comes from the back when the brake is released.
View 4 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: Loud Clunk Noise From Under The Car
I was driving down the street earlier today, when I heard (and felt) a loud *clunk* from under the car. At first I thought it was a blown tire from the way the car was handling, but then I heard the grinding/screeching sound. No matter what gear I put the car in (even neutral), it makes the grinding noise and won't move. I've narrowed it to to either a transmission issue or a problem with the drive shaft.
View 5 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: Air Noise When Depressing Brake Pedal
Just noticed this the other day, when depressing my GF's 2011 Accent's brake pedal it made a low hissing sound, it would go away when you took your foot off the pedal, you would never hear this with the radio on, but it was enough to make me think it could be a concern.
Drove the car and it didn't affect the brake permormance, but the longer this goes, I can't imagine this being a good thing.
Car is 3 years old, and has 80-20 city/hwy driving under it.
Accent MC (2006-11) :: Right Rear Banging Or Clanging Noise
I have been hearing a rattling or maybe more a banging clanging sound coming from the right rear of my 2007 3 door accent. It almost sounds like something is loose, but I have never identified anything. The tire tools are secure and there are no loose panels either.
It almost sounds like the strut is banging around. My wife did bend the rim on the right rear a couple of years ago. I thought maybe the sway bar was broke, until I realized this car doesn't have one.
