Accent LC (2000-05) :: Grinding Noise Coming From Driver Side - CV Or Bearing?
Noise sounds like its coming from driver's side. It's not terrible until you hit 30-40km/h, after that its quite loud. No whistling sounds, which i was told to listen for if it were a wheel bearing (although I ma not convinced is the only sound a warn bearing makes).
The sound sometimes goes away when I am on a bend turning left (taking the weight off the drivers side wheel).
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Constant Squeaking Noise Coming From Front Right Side
I have a 4 door 2005 Accent with ABS. I mainly drive in the city, and lately I noticed a squeaking noise that sounds like it's coming from the front right side (from inside the car); it is a constant noise. I pulled the brakes off both sides, the pads are fine, the rotors were a little rough (normal). Before I reinstalled everything I took some 80 grit emery cloth and roughed the pads and the rotors with it just in case there was some glazing.
The noise is still there and what concerns me more than the noise is the fact that the longer I drive the car the more gas I seem to need to apply to get the car to move.... not a huge amount but enough. Also, once I stop the car, there is a slight brake smell and the passenger side front tire area (brake) is crazy hot. Long story short; I would like to check to see if I have a stuck piston in the caliper, But I'm not 100% sure how to. Do I pull the pads off, push the piston in , watch how fast it goes in, and then compare it to the drivers' side? Or do I need to pull the caliper apart?
Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2003 - Low Hum Noise Coming From Passenger Side Tire When Backing Up
Within the last few days whenever I am backing up there tends to be a low hum noise coming from the passenger side tire when backing up and with no pressure on the brakes. The noise is not present at any time other then backing up so I am really unsure what could be causing it.
What could be causing this before I work on it. I know its not having any problem braking as well as it is also driving straight when the steering wheel is let go in drive.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2003 - Scraping Noises When Driving
My hubby hit a curb on vacation last weekend and now it sounds like something is grinding and we can both feel vibrations (on both driver and passenger floor) it does not do it when stopped. We had to cut the bottom of the under carriage away from the tires due to it rubbing, thinking that was what the noise was, but its only getting worse. We just changed the CV joint on the driver side in March at the same time. We do know he has a small exhaust leak but it was never making this sound until he hit that curb.. I really don't want to take it to a shop to have it looked at if I don't have to, I normally do all the work myself.
View 1 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: No Solenoid On Driver Side Door
There is no solenoid on the drivers door just an energising switch so a remote system, without modifications, will not open the drivers door.
To get it to work you would need to source & fit a solenoid into the drivers door, wire it, then wire in the remote locking box for the remote function - complicated for the average person and expensive otherwise.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Driver Side Brake Light Is Not Working
My driver side brake light is not working. I noticed it yesterday after changing my front brake pads. The bulb won't light up. I changed the bulb and didn't fix it. I checked fuses and all were good. The running light and turn signal both work on the tail light and the passenger tail light is fine and everything works on it. A couple hours after I noticed the driver side tail brake light wasn't working the hatch brake light went out. Not sure if it was just bad timing for the bulb to go out or not. I think I may just need to get a new wire harness for it. Not sure.

View 3 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: Driver Side Floorboard Have Water Leakage
2003 Hyundai Accent 4 door. Well its been raining here in Portland Oregon non stop and this morning I went to get in my car and smelled a mildew odor so I took out the drivers floor mat and the carpet was soak. Then I laid back the carpet and that grey spongy covering thats under the pedals was soaked to the bone like a sponge.
I did a test with a water by putting the hose on top of the roof of the accent and turning it on full bore and nothing leaked in the car. I sat in their for a good 5 minutes with the hose blaring down the windshield and door sides. I even took a jack and lifted the car up too see if there was any cracks or a rusty hole underneath but nothing. So Im completely stumped on this I do have A/C and the drain hose is clear since I have been using my defrosters and the A/C pump kicks on.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Lights On Driver Side Won't Work - It Is Fuse?
All my lights on the driver side don't work, replaced brake light and then nothing. Would it be a fuse? if so which one or wiring and how would I go about finding the fault.
View 1 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: 2001 - Driver Side Window Popping Out Of Track
Having problem with the front electric window sliding out of it's track? My friend's 2001 Accent has been doing this with the driver's window when going up. It gets between about 1/4 to 1/3 closed and suddenly the glass jumps slightly left out of the track on the right-hand side of the door frame.
The drivers door is on the right, it's the tallest part of the door frame it's jumping out from. If the glass is pushed right by hand it pops back into the track and the window can be closed normally.
I've had the door card off and can't see anything broken with the window regulator. With the window down it's possible to rock the glass left and right so something is obviously loose or not holding as it should be, but I can't find any loose or broken clips where the glass is attached to the white plastic thing which holds it onto the central regulator rail, it all looks intact.
I was expecting to find something broken or slack which could be causing this but I really can't.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: How To Replace Front Driver Side Indicator Bulb
Just bought a 2005 accent yesterday. I new the bulb was gone, when I lifted the bottom noticed that the battery is so close to the lights I can't get my hand down there. Do I need to remove my battery to replace this bulb? Also what is the model # of the bulb?

Replaced my rotors today. When I was done, I spun each wheel to see if there was interference. Passenger wheel spins freely. Driver's wheel makes a scraping sound (brake pads?) and stops pretty quickly.Which one is wrong or bad?

Toyota :: 1988 - Intermittent Scraping In Rear Driver Side Wheel
My 1988 Standard 2WD Toyota pickup truck has intermittent scraping in rear driver side wheel. It only occurs after slowing down from higher speeds and making a turn. It seems to happen IN the turn. The scraping pulses and is in time with the speed of the truck. Once it starts scraping, I stop for a minute, then it goes away.
This makes me think it is my rear brake drum, overheating and locking up. I've jacked up, in neutral, with handbrake OFF and both rear wheels have extreme resistance when I turn them by hand. I also jacked the front to compare the resistance of the front wheels, and there is nearly none. Not sure if this is normal since it is RWD.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Humming Which Sounds Like Knobby Mud Tires / Bad Wheel Bearing On Front Driver Side
I just purchased a 2000 Hyundai Accent. I was told it has a bad wheel bearing on the front driver's side. I am assuming that would be the clicking sound that associates with speed. I was told the cv joints or axles were replaced but have a leak. I couldn't see a filler hole or one to check from. I also don't see fluid under the car from parked. Also, there is a humming which sounds like knobby mud tires. The humming disappears during hard right turns.

At times, not often but on my 04, when I turn headlights on, the drivers side front window will go down, and when I work the switch to make it go up, the passenger side front window will go down.
I don't have a wiring diagram for the car, so tracing the circuits would be next to impossible.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2002 - Clicking Sound Coming From The Left Hand Side Under The Hood
I have a 2002 Accent that has this clicking sound coming from what sounds to be the left hand side under the hood. The click sounds like two marbles colliding. The car runs ok otherwise, but I would like to know about that sound.
I took a video, but its kind of hard to hear it. But if you listen close enough, you can hear it.

Ford Excursion :: Front Dust Shield On Driver Side Is Falling Apart And Scraping Against Rotor
My front dust shield on the driver's side is falling apart and scraping against my rotor. On the passenger side the dust shield is long gone.
My question is do I need the dust shields? Is there any issues without having them?
In a perfect world I'd like to replace them, but I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those dealer only items that's severely overpriced.
Seeing as I have the passenger side shield missing, and I never noticed anything before hand I'm thinking this is an item that might not be necessary.
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Driver Side Front Wheel Making Metallic Scraping Sound On Turning Right
I noticed that the driver side front wheel makes a metallic scraping noise while the car is turning right. It sounds like something scraping the rotor or shield behind the rotor ( a rotational/moving kind of scraping noise)
This only happens on a relatively sharp turn (wheel is turned 70~80% to the right). I don't suspect the power steering as there is no noise if the car is not moving even when wheel is turned to extremes. The scraping noise happens at any speed, as long as the car is moving. does not happen when car is turning left.
Note that I am 90% certain it is from the front... my ears may be playing a trick on me (kind of hard to listen precisely while driving). Where to start looking?
