Accent LC (2000-05) :: How To Reset A Throttle Position Sensor
I was reading the car's settings using the Torque app and an OBDII bluetooth dongle and I realize that at WOT the ECU is only seeing 85% from the TPS. O know on some vehicles there is an actual procedure like turn the key forward, hold the gas pedal at WOT, turn the key all the way forward w/o starting while pulling the turn signal stalk down or something crazy like that to force the ECU to re-measure while you keep the gas pedal pinned to the floor. I know on other cars when it doesn't read a full 100% you miss out on a small amount of power and MPG so if it's an easy procedure with these cars I'd like to reset it. I did some searching but mostly came up with info on how to replace it and a few related subjects but noting on this specifically for this car specifically.

A little embarrassed about a problem I have had getting the Emissions computer to reset for emissions testing in Maryland. I tried everything the testing station suggested, but could not get the codes to reset, for readiness for emissions testing. I surrendered after 5 or 6 trips to the testing station, and took it to my very trusted mechanic, thinking I had a bad ECU, and he would need to replace it. I would have done it myself, but figured I would not be able to re-program it myself, so would rely on my mechanic.
Got the car back, fixed for less than $50 (they did other maintenance work as well). Guess what it was? It was a blown fuse! This is the second time this 2000 Explorer XLT, 5.0 has me stumped and it was just a fuse - first time was tow-hitch lighting. So now, no matter what, I will check all the fuses first! Regardless of the problem - ok, maybe only a last resort when I have a flat tire

I just bought a 2000 Saturn SC2 that had a "service engine soon" light on. I took it to the shop to get it inspected and they reset the computer and said that I needed to drive it around 100 miles to reset the computer so it would pass MO state emissions. After driving it 160 miles only two of the required have reset. I took it on the highway at 55 MPH steady for 2 miles. Actually did around 8 miles. as the shop suggested and that did not work.

I have a 2000 accent. Automatic tranny with 167000 miles. My current problem is the car is misfiring upon acceleration and engine revving. I have to accelerate very slowly to minimize this but i once the engine revs up enough I can give it more gas and it will rev normally with plenty of power. I have had to unplug the maf to keep it driveable. Ive never had a car stay running after disconnecting the maf so this is strange to me. My accent barely stays running with the maf connected. I just got the car from my dad and he had it fixed and it ran good for awhile with the maf connected so I don't think it is the maf. But the same problem came about and we had to disconnect the maf again. And he cant remember or is not sure what was exactly fixed on the car. I've read up about the purge control valve and havent had a chance to check it out but some of the symptoms fit.

It is hyundai accent LC 1.6 cc dohc. It's 2013 model ...
Now my A/C dose not work the lamp of A/C switch lighting and the blower work good with all 4 speeds but no cold air .
Itested R 134 a refrigrant and it's pressure it was good (with Low side). The problem is that clutch of compressor does not rotate until I make a jumber between 30-87 pin of A/c relay and then my A/C working very good.
I know that mean I jump triple pressure sensor and thermostat sensor. I do not want make that jumper. What can I do (test anything to make my A/C working normally).
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Car Vibrates While In Park
I have a 2000 Hyundai Accent GL. I just bought this car for my son & noticed that the car vibrates (and by car, I mean steering wheel & entire vehicle) while in park and also while in drive but at a stop. I took it for a drive and it drove very smooth. It shows no signs of needing any wheel alignments and the tires all look to be worn evenly and are about 75% worn I would guess. I ran quiet and did not vibrate any during the test drive, other than while at a stop. On my way home, I was on the freeway and I noticed as I approached speeds of 54 mph the vehicle started to vibrate again. When I accelerated to speeds of 56 mph, the vibration was very bad, so I decided it was best to take surface streets. It felt to me as if a tire was out of balance. I tried to determine what side of the vehicle the vibration was coming from, but could not appropriately determine that.

Car just died and wont start. Have checked the following..
fuel (unplugged hose at rail and no fuel with key on, only while cranking. also pulled rail off and all are spraying fuel)
spark ( all plugs are sparking, but are wet from fuel)
compression ( all had 190-210 psi)
timing belt is still in time.
Car doesn't even try to start with all of these. It does back fire out exhaust though when trying.
Also the one of the ecu fuses was blown( thought for sure that was the problem) but made no difference. What to check next. Possible ecu is bad??
Accent LC (2000-05) :: GL Stalls And Will Not Start
I have a 2000 hyundai accent. I shut it off in my driveway earlier and went in long enough to use the bathroom and when i came back the car would not start. I squirted gas in the intake and it fired right up. A little later i was in town and it stalled and would not re-start. I had to walk to the store and get some ether to get it started back up. I have noticed since the first time that it will cut out every now and then for just a second and then go again while running down the road at around sixty mph... im at a loss as the local mechanic's computer wont hook up to it and there is no place to check the fuel pressure as i had wondered if maybe that was the problem having had another car do that before. the check engine light is not on either

I recently became the owner of a 2001 accent with 73k on it. The clutch needed changing on it so after stripping all that out when I put it back together I noticed that the fan switched on for about 20-30 seconds after turning the engine off. I've also had to disconnect the maf because it was running very lumpy after everything went back in. I'm not worried about the maf its only a few mine job to change. I'm just wondering if it's normal for the fan to come on like that?

I have a 2000 Hyundai accent gl and ever since the head gaskets been replaced its had an issue of almost stalling out when accelerating from a stop.
The cars overheating quite frequently as well like the thermostat isn't opening and the fans aren't kicking on.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Both Low Beam Headlights Went Out
I own a 2001 Accent 1.6L. The other day both low beam headlights went out. The brights work and so do the parking lights when turned on. I changed the bulbs and still the low beams don't work but the highs and parking lamps do. I looked on the hood for a relay but could find one in the fuse box. I checked the fuses and they appear okay. What could cause the problem? I'm hoping it is not the stalk. Still a relay or switch under the dash?

Some months ago airbag light went on. I carried my car to Hyundai and they reset the light and told me that the problem was probably the clock spring. But I tested the clock spring and it was ok and I tested the airbag device and was ok too. Now light is on again. I have tied a 2 ohm resistor between wires before the clock spring but light remains on.
Question: I have a cheap Chinese ELM327 OBD2 reader. Any software valid for this reader and able for reseting airbag light?
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Brake Lights Are Always On
My brake lights are always on. When i turn my lights on the brake lights are on as if i am pressing the brakes. Very annoying for people behind me obviously, especially at night. If my lights are turned off and i press the brakes all the dash lights come on.. depress the brakes they go off. I've tried changing the brake switch above the pedal.. changed fuses.. can't figure it out.

my car starts fine but It idles ''good'' or "ok" with a little roughness. it is so slight that you can barely feel it but it's there. the problem starts when I drive:
taking off on first seems fine until I reach in between 2000rpm and 2500 rpm, it seems to almost stall or the gas cuts off, then comes back,
then in second gear it does the same
3rd same but not as often-random

most of the time the problem happens sometimes it doesn't. it has been happening recently. it usually occurs in first gear and in second and when im not accelerating . the engine light came on also, but I haven't got the code (will tomorrow). I think it might be the throttle position sensor TPS but I don't want to buy it if that is not the problem.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Engine Occasionally Cut Out
What may be wrong with my 2001 Accent? The engine has occasionally cut out in the past and the Engine Management light has come on, but the car has always restarted and the light gone out.
On the most recent occasion though, the engine would not re-start and when I turn the ignition key to the first position there is no Engine Management Light or ABS Light - I have normally seen these in the past when the ignition is on and they went out when the engine was started but now they just don't light up at all.
There is no power at the diagnostic plug, all fuses seem OK tested with a multimeter (unless there is another hidden away somewhere for the ecu?), all of the electrical earths/ grounds that I can see seem OK. Is it likely that the ecu has failed or may there be a simple fix.
Accent LC (2000-05) :: Bad Noises After Oil Change
I did an oil change recently, as I have done many times in the past, but this is the first time different noise like this could be heard.
I had synthetic in there before (mobil 1 + mobil 1 filter) because it was on sale for a ridiculous price, and I figured I would try it out. I now have Shell oil in the engine and it is the same weight (10w-30) as always. It is dino oil, supposedly with synth blend or something, and I also installed another synth filter.
I now have some minor valvetrain noise, a little louder than normal, and a tick that is loud - which is the part that really worries me.
Should I go back to synthetic, or should I look at the top end? I opened the valve cover, but nothing looks wrong at a quick glance.
