Golf/GTI VI :: Airbag Light Went On After Removing Headlight Switch

I suppose it could be unrelated but yesterday i was showing my coworker how easy it was to remove the headlight switch on my 2010 golf tdi (he has an a3). I took it out of the slot, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and slid it back into place. im sure i didnt yank on the wiring harness but who knows. I went to turn on my car and now i have an airbag fault showing up for the driver seat position sensor. I looked under the seat and everything is still plugged in, along with in the little access panel where the wiring goes.

Prius C :: Removing Upper Passenger Seat Back Rest

I am trying to remove the upper portion of my passenger seat for my 2012 Prius C. This is not the part that you sit on. It is the part where your back rests against. The part where the head rest attaches to. I'm not sure what the formal technical name of the part is.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Sun Visors Falling Down

Sun visors are falling down. Question: the first step in removing the old visor is to remove the plastic trim cap that hides the phillips screws that retain the sunvisor.

What's the best way to do this (without breaking the cap - that is)? The tsb issued back in '08 says something like "use the appropriate body trim remover". Does the thing just pop off?

Camry :: 2009 XLE - Removing Back Deck Cover To Replace Speakers

I have a 2009 Camry XLE with the split reclining rear seats and the retractable (stupid) sunshade. I bought new 6x9's to replace speakers all around (Infinity 9632) with adapter plates. Got the door speakers replaced easily enough, but for the life of me I cannot figure out the rear deck. It is all one piece of plastic, no removable speaker grills. And of course the speakers are screwed in top down. Most of the posts I have found on the internet are either for previous gen Camry's or people who have the folding down rear seat.

So after a lot of manual labor I was able to remove the back seat completely and the center console. I can pop the front of the back plate up and peek in, but cannot get it to come out. I think something is odd with the models with the retractable sunscreen and reclining seats.

I have scoured the internet endlessly. Closest post I found was "take off the rear side panels (by the back window) and the deck should pop out. There are airbags in there, not very keen on forcing anything.

The car has the "premium" JBL sound system which I found to not be so "premium" and was a serious step down from my last car's factory stereo.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2014 - Removal Of Bed Stickers?

I want to remove the 4x4 stickers on my 2014 SD box. I think it looks cleaner without them. Are they difficult to remove or does the hair dryer trick and then some Goo-Gone do the trick without a big time effort? The last thing I want to do is make a mess of the paint finish.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 1996 - Removing Bed - Should Remove Spare Tire Too?

Broke one of the shackle brackets. Planning on pulling the bed and doing all four. I've searched and read as much as I can in a short period of time. I have a few questions about bed removal.

1. How hard is it to remove the factory plastic bed liner?

2. Do I need to remove the spare tire to get to any of the bed bolts.

One reason I decided to remove the bed is I can't get the spare out. I figure I'll be able to fix that as well once I have the bed off.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: Removing Manual Door Lock Cylinder

I recently bought a 1994 Ford Ranger, XLT 4 cylinder supercab. They lost the door keys when they replaced the ignition because they never locked their doors. I bought new lock cylinders with keys and set out for an adventure. Removing the metal clamp that holds the cylinder in place was actually easier than I thought. It's that darn plastic piece connecting the cylinder to the rod for the lock system that will not break or come off. Here's the best picture I could find real quick. How do you get that vile piece of 20 year old plastic off? It's in a difficult place to get tools in there, and I can't seem to get leverage with a small screwdriver anywhere. What tips and tricks do y'all have?

Prius V :: Steering Wheel / Head Rests And Visors Vibrating

I have about 26k miles on a 2012 prius v 5. Recently I noticed that the vehicle produces vibrations. You can feel it in the steering wheel, but also notice it with head rests and visors vibrating. This can occur by going as slow as 25 or 30 mph. The other issue is that when going over pumps the shocks feel soft and the rear of the vehicle jumps one way or the other. I still have the factory tires with lots of wear remaining. I had this issue in a Jeep years ago and it was the faulty sway bars. My understanding is that Prius v's only have front sway bars.

Dodge - Ram1500 :: Squeak Slowly Getting Louder And More Obnoxious

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 V6 that has been squeaking for a long time now, slowly getting louder and more obnoxious. The belt and belt tensioner were bad so I replaced them, but the squeak was still there. Then I replaced the tensioner pulley, followed by the alternator, but it still squeaks. If the belt is removed and the engine run, there is no squeak. Its very hard to localize where it is coming from - as best I could tell it was coming from the tensioner or the alternator (they are next to each other), but with both of them replaced and nothing else nearby I am at a loss. Looking through some other discussion boards seems like another common problem is the fan clutch. Mine actually went bad 4-5 years ago so I replaced it back then, but this squeak is different than what it was doing back then, so I'm hesitant to replace that again.

Nissan - Altima :: 1998 - Both Sun Visors Are Detached / Radio Volume Button Not Responsive?

My 1998 Nissan Altima has the following three problems that I want to fix:

1) Both sun visors are detached. How can I reattach them?

2) The front passenger side window power button works only occasionally. Sometimes I will pull the window down but can't pull it back up. So the driver has to do it. Is it possible to fix this on my own. If so, how?

3) Finally, the radio volume knob/button is not responsive enough. That is, I will spin it and it makes the clicking sound but the volume doesn't increase/decrease unless I turn the knob very carefully. How to fix?

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Obnoxious Squeaking Coming From Somewhere In The Rear Of Vehicle

Since we bought the GX470 we have been plagued by obnoxious squeaking coming from somewhere in the rear of the vehicle. The squeaking occurs whenever driving over very bumpy roads or under hard braking and sounds like plastic on metal. While wiping down the windows I happened to bump the plastic shroud encasing the top of the rear hatch(barn door). This produced noise similar to that heard while driving.

I am thinking that there must be something loose in the rear hatch causing this terrible noise. There must be a way to tighten the plastic shroud up or add some foam insulation to get rid of the noise.

Saturn - Vue :: 2003 - Obnoxious Moaning Sound When Turn The Steering Wheel

I have a 2003 Saturn Vue, been a pretty car, bought used. It has been making this obnoxious moaning sound when I turn the steering wheel. Had one mechanic say he thought it was some bearings? But I would have to bring back (was having something else fixed at the time). I am financially challenged at the moment, and I am concerned this is going to be costly. The sound doesn't seem to be affecting the mechanics of the car, it is just annoying.

Prius (2004-09) :: Loud Obnoxious Noise From Front Left - Coolant Heat Transfer Pump?

I know that you're supposed to hear a soft whining noise when starting up and shutting down the car, especially in cold weather. For at least a year now, the noise coming from my front left has gotten much louder and more obnoxious, especially in cold weather.

From what I've seen on this forum so far, I think it is the coolant heat transfer pump. Does that sound right? Or could it be a different pump or piece of some sort? Seems like there has been confusion on this issue, from other threads I've read.

The noise has gotten louder and longer, it lasts about 10-15 seconds now. Especially in the winter, it sounds really bad, I'm afraid the pump is going to fail this winter.
