Sleep Disorders :: Forget To Breathe Just As I'm Falling Asleep
I'm curious if anyone else experiences this. Just as I cross the line from being awake to falling asleep, it seems like my body just forgets to breathe. I jolt myself awake and just get right back to sleeping. I don't notice it every night but sometimes it happens a few times before I'm fully asleep.
I'm otherwise a healthy 32 year old male. I go to the gym multiple times a week and don't have any other major health issues other than occasional teeth-grinding at night. I don't snore heavily and I typically wake up rested when I do get to sleep early enough.
Sleep Disorders :: Involuntary Rapid Jabbering Before Falling Asleep
This is driving me crazy for the last year! Most nights I don't get a lot of sleep so I am often overtired. When I am about to fall asleep I will have lots of sudden episodes of rapid nonsensical utterances. My husband calls them AbbaDabbaDoo episodes, lol. The sounds are always different and often very loud. Sometimes I will even yell out. This all happens before I start to fall asleep or even feel I am drifting off. Often I am awake reading, on the computer or watching TV. Even when absorbed in a fast hockey game I can emit these sounds. There is no denying I am awake but, I am still tired. I was tested for Myoclonic Epilepsy but, it was negative. I do have Sleep Apnea and use C-Pap. I also have Myoclonus mostly with leg jerking but sometimes worse. The sudden blurting out episodes often co-inside with the leg jerks. Has anyone ever had this or even heard of it. I can get no answers from my ENT or Neurologist. I don't know where to go next in trying to get an answer. Is this just merely another version of sleep starts?

I am a 14 year old male and for the past 1-2 weeks, i have been experiencing strange feelings suddenly after falling asleep. Most of the time (In regards to religion) devilish. It started one night when I suddenly go to sleep and feel a rush go up my body, then a tap on my left knee. I disregarded it thinking i was just about to have a nightmare. About 5 minutes after that, i go to sleep again and feel another sudden rush up my body and a tap on my right bicep. This time i heard a slurred voice (I cannot recall what it said but i do believe there was laughing.) I finally got sleep and told my mom the next morning. These things had not happened again until 4-5 days later when I went to sleep and i get a sudden rush up my body but instead of a tap, I have no control over my body. After 30 seconds of not being able to move myself (Note, this was not sleep paralysis because I gained control over my body.) I regain control but then I feel another sudden rush through my body and a tap on my left leg again with another slurred voice. I want to know what is going on with me, am I being possessed? Or am I just hallucinating? I want to know your guys's thoughts and what I should do.

I have a fear of my own heart, I'm completely convinced something is going to happen, Sometimes when I do things that make me anxious (physical activities are the worst) my thoughts are pretty much 'it's going to happen (I'll have a heart attack) anytime soon I'm going to keel over and die' .
I've had loads of tests done and I'm healthy, just have bad anxiety.
Does anyone else have this fear / phobia? If so what helped you get over it?
Sleep Disorders :: Feel Myself Falling In Dreams
I am not pregnant and I am still single. I am going to be 22 years old this year. I have some nightmare dreams. I am going to tell you one. In this dream I was climbing on a building at first. Then a guy pushed me from behind and I started to fall. I can feel myself falling even though I am on my own bed. Most of the time I am dreaming of me singing on the stage. Other times I become one of the characters in my dream and at the end I get killed. Or I dream nothing at all. What does this mean? Am I seeing the future or Is it just my dreams have gone wild?

Every now and then I get a feeling I want to be sick or I feel sick. This is one of my biggest fears and keeps me awake.
I haven't eaten anything that would upset my stomach and I don't think I've been around anyone who is ill.
how can I control this fear? It prevents me from sleeping and it really upsets me.

Terrifying Health Anxiety
I'm a 21 year old. I'm not really sure what to write for all this, but I wanted to support because I sometimes feel so alone, it's only recently I've started to realise people are going through the same as me.
My health anxiety started about 6 months a go, prior to this I was quite an anxious, shy person. I would stress out at times but it was always controlled. I have no idea how my Heath anxiety got so bad, I think it was when I took a trip to the doctors about an abnormal mole on my left breast. I wasn't panicked at first, in all honesty I had it for years.. I just wanted to be safe rather than sorry. However, the doctor that dealt with me wasn't what I expected, he didn't have the advanced 'equipment' so couldn't tell whether it was cancerous or not.. He told me that if it's caught early, they can help me survive.. When I heard the word cancer I just lost control, I had an immediate panic attack, for my doctor to then turn round and say that how I was acting was 'abnormal' as I didn't know for sure yet, I had to wait for a specialist skin appointment for two weeks. It was pure hell, the waiting, analysing, constant research I put myself through, the daily panic attacks, I lost touch of reality, but most importantly myself.
Two weeks went by, and I had my appointment. She had a look at my mole which she determined wasn't cancerous, when I heard those words I broke down crying. Any Normal person that would hear those words would feel overjoyed, but unfortunately for me it became worse. Since that day I have been through every cancer in the book, breast (which I also had to be transferred to a specialist), cervical cancer (which I had a swab for).. Stomach cancer as I am constipated and have caused my body so much stress I'm now having acid reflux on a daily basis, bone cancer, brain tumour, muscle cancer, bowel cancer.. You name it, everything that I could think of at the time. Obviously I had these things checked and everything came back normal.
Since January though I've been extremely worried about my heart, not that I have any reason to be. I have a non problematic heart murmur.. A year a go I had tests with a 24 hour ECG which determined all my heart was healthy, flowing normally and strong. Despite all this, I got random bouts of chest pain, back pain, arm numbness, jaw pain.. I've seen 4 doctors.. (One being at A&E as I thought I was dying), all of them told me my heart was healthy, I wasn't suffering from heart disease, just anxiety and stress related symptoms. Despite 4 doctors, heart monitors I don't believe them.. I can't.. My mind is stuck, trying to convince myself I am dying daily. Deep down I know that my chest and back pain is caused from a mixture of stress and my Ibs and acid.. I know that my jaw pain is caused from sinus issues and sensitive gums and prodding them constantly, I know my arms hurt because of trapped nerves from stress.. So why can't my mind let my rest! It's got to the point where I've had enough, I can't live like it anymore.. Constant thoughts of ending it all, but I'm only 21, I have so much to live for and I can't ruin my life. I'm just stuck in a place I can't get out of. It's truly terrifying.
Depression :: Detached From The World, Family, Partner And Friends
things just don't seem to be getting any better I can feel myself becoming detached from the world my family and my partner and friends all I do is sit in my room alone coz I can't face anyone and all I do is cry :-( had my tablets changed which I start tomorrow which I'm very anxious about.. I'm so scared of what my future holds if I can not get better.. I have everything to look forward too getting married getting my own place and everything is there for the taking but I can not seem to get myself out this rut and get myself back to work the thought terrifies me ! Really don't know what to do .......

I had right eye cataract surgery 15 months ago, but protein building required capsulotomy. Unfortunately, the doctor cut a square out of the back of the capsule with a laser which floated in visiont (duh!). Further laser blasting left lots of floaters in eye.
Today had Vitrectomy to remove vitreous and gunk. However, I notice now that vision in that eye is tilted 30° and shifted down from where it should be.
No pain or flashing lights. WIll be calling hospital Friday morning (too late tonight)
Cyclizine Reaction :: Terrifying Numbness, Raised Blood Pressure And Racing Heart
I have just come out of hospital after being treated with IV antibiotics for a Quinsy. One of the antibiotics was making me feel sick so a nice administered cyclizine through the cannula to relieve the sickness. Within seconds, my toes went numb and my head swam and I couldn't see. This progressed to the feeling that my heart was going to burst as it was beating so fast and my head felt as if it was going to pop. Everything was swimming around and I couldn't feel my arms or legs and they wouldn't respond when I tried to move them. My mouth was numb and I was slurring my words. I was terrified! My blood pressure had rocketed and my heart was racing. The panic button was hit and I was quickly given cortisone and antihistamine which began to calm things down. It was a horrible experience. I honestly felt as if I was either going to have a heart attack or a stroke. I'm only 41 and have three small sons. My vision was affected for many hours afterwards, walls billowed and flat surfaces looked as if they were covered in netting. Very disturbing.

I'm 14 years old and yesterday school started after two weeks of holidays. I went to bed at 11 PM and woke up at 4 AM. I tried to go back to sleep but I just couldn't. At 6 AM I got up and got ready for school. After school I was really tired and took an hour long nap, but I was still extremely tired. I went to bed at 9 PM and fell asleep in a second. I woke up at 2:30 AM and tried my best to fall asleep, but it didn't work. Its 6 AM right now and Ive done some homework, as I couldnt do them yesterday because I was so tired. The thing is, this didn't happen in my holiday, and I get really cranky when I don't get enough sleep. Do I have insomnia?

I'm currently taking Zopiclone (7.5mg) and am now on my third consecutive prescription of it having had an initial 7 days (which didn't work), a further 7 days (which worked some of the time) and now have 14 days, which my doctor has told me to "take as and when needed".
The problem is, most of the time they just don't make me sleep. I become drowsy, fall asleep but then ALWAYS wake up at least once or twice during the night, regardless. I end up waking up feeling groggy and fuzzy headed.
Years ago I was prescribed Temazepam followed by amitriptyline, both for insomnia, but neither of those worked either. I think I'm running out of options.
I hadn't realised until very recently that 7.5mg was the higher dose of the tablets (as opposed to 3.75mg), but is it ok to take one and a half or two at night (occasionally) when I'm in desperate need for some proper sleep?
I'm already on Sertraline (100mg) and Propranolol (10mg x 6 per day) so I'm conscious of not being irresponsible with them... But I REALLY need to sleep!
Heel Pain After Falling From Bike
Four weeks back I fell with my bike and seemed to hit my heel to the ground. I stil cant put much pressure on it, I can walk on my heel but I can feel the pain. It's better than 4 weeks back but not all good. Is there maybe something I can do to speed up recovery? When I press on my heel from the bottom there is not pain but on the sides an back of the calcaneus there is a lot of pain when I press, it's all around the edges of the calcaneus.

About two days ago I had a pretty hard fall where I caught myself with my hands. My hands were completely fine with the exception of my middle finger. The tip felt very sensitive almost like it was raw. Even the most gentle touch bothered it. I thought maybe there was a splinter in it, but no. The skin wasn't broken. Today the fingertip pain is gone, but is replaced by a tender bump that is in the dead center of the top joint right beneath my finger tip. It is very faintly blue also where the knot it. Never experienced this before. Anyone have an idea what it is?

My dad has been struggling with on and off slurring speech, lack of coordination (which is getting worse) he falls over if he gets up too fast or turns too quickly and feel dizzy. And his speech is slurred.
Some days his speech can be fine, one day for an hour it will be ok, the next terrible, where you can't understand him, then in the next couple of hour it can go back to normal.
Hip Replacement :: Compression Stockings - Skin Falling Off, Peeling And Wrinkled
I was ordered to wear these horrible things for 6 weeks. Only allowed to take them off one hour a day so the skin wouldn't "degrade". Well, once I stopped wearing them my skin started falling off, peeling and wrinkled. I put lotion on, even Vaseline but nothing works. I guess I just need to scrub the skin harder but I hesitate to get rough with it. Did anyone have trouble with their skin after weeks in compression stockings?
