Acne :: Small, Round, Rough Patch Of Skin On My Leg?
Okay, so for a few years I have had this patch of skin on my leg. I'm seventeen and I swear I can remember it being there for quite a while now. It has not changed in size, or color --- and it is not raised around the edges. I have had no other patches like this pop up. It has stayed in the same place since I can remember.

View 1 RepliesDermatology :: Palm Rough Skin
I've had a small patch of rough skin appear on my right palm on and off for a few months now. I applied over the counter cortistone which would get rid of it but it always returns after a few days.
Here is a picture. Any idea what this is, what is causing it? How to get rid of it?
Penis :: Rough Skin/ Inflammation
I'm 16 and uncircumcised, but I've noticed some issues with the texture of my penis. The head is really rough and red and looks like it is keratinized (I've gathered that through some research) and the foreskin around it is also red. It is also really sensitive to the touch. I also occasionally get a slight burning sensation after I masturbate (I never do it more than once a day and I usually do it in the shower. *I don't use soap as a lubricant), but it always goes away in less than a half hour.
Recently I have gotten some anti-fungal Lotrimin 1% cream because one of the forums I followed said that it could be antifungal. I have also tried hydrocortisone and calamine cream and no improvement (no worse either).
Reddish, Rough Facial Skin
Ive always had dry skin on my face, within a minute of washing it I need to moisturize. I have used the same moisturizer (nivea) for years and haven't changed skincare products at all lately. Two days ago I noticed my face went hot and the next morning when washing my face I noticed it felt rough and bumpy. What could have triggered this? Something I ate?? An allergy to something? Its not itchy just a bit hot and has a bumpy appearance if I look up close.
Im taking Vit B Executive Stress (Healtheries) tablets, Magnesium tablets, Noriday birth control tablets.
Only foods Ive eaten out of ordinary and feel could have triggered it is pizza, peppermint tea or blueberries! Am hoping it will go away on its own, not sure what to use as a moisturiser.. bio oil, same nivea soft moisturiser, paw paw ointment?
Men's Health :: Dry/Rough Skin On Foreskin Opening
Last night the end of my foreskin went all dry, rough and shriveled up. Rest of the foreskin is smooth as normal.
The skin at the tip of the foreskin mildly red/tender (with white dry skin bits) when my penis is in a flaccid state however during an erection the tenderness and redness is much more pronounced. Pulling the skin back whilst erect is much more painful(although its usually quite painful to do that normally anyway due to my foreskin being very tight during an erection).
This has only happened once before in my life and the doctor said he was convinced it was down to poor hygiene if i hadnt any recent sexual activity other than masturbation. He basically said that I should wash there more often and then prescribed me some cream and it went away a couple days later and did ease all the symptoms while the cream was on tbh (but my paranoia was telling me it would have done on its own anyway). In this case i have been living at someone elses house looking after it while they are on holiday and they have no hot water so havent washed down there in over a week. The obvious answer would be that is the cause but i just wanna make sure.
Men Issues :: Scrotum Skin Loose And Rough
My scrotum was dry/leathery one day last week. The extreme dryness went away but now the skin it tough and extra wrinkled when tight. And it is very loose and doesn't have elasticity at other times. I noticed that they are tight/semi normal when I wake up but by the time I get home from work in the evening, they are very saggy. They itched for one day and has since stopped. I started using Tinactin 4 days ago, I'm not sure if its working or not yet. I have a doctor's appt soon but I would like any feedback on this now??
View 4 RepliesPenis :: Flaky, Rough And Peeling Skin On Head
I had a yeast infection around my crotch 2months ago, it wasnt severe and wasnt the contagious type, happend due to antibiotic use for acne and I treated it with some natural creams and oils along with changing my diet, it's been completely gone for over 2 weeks, but a few days ago when I woke up I've noticed a tiny part of my penis head being a little rough and peely, it was very tiyn so thought it was just coming off due to not being moist or something. So I waited a few days and right now its a little bigger and the skin is rougher with peeling, if I peel it it looks a little red and sensitive below it. I have included 3 photos if it will help, it doesnt itch at all also last time I had sex it was over a year ago, I will go over to my gf due to long distance relationship in a month and I hope I can cure this before I'm over there with her. I highly doubt its an STD yet I'm very curious as to what it is.

Have just been taken off ramipril 5mg today. Started in November on 1.25mg then doubled to 2.5mg then again to 5 mg. Could not cope with the horrible dry patch at the back of my throat which made me cough and heave. Fed up with constantly drinking water and having boiled sweets to try to stop the dry tickly which continued during the night. Have now been prescribed Amlovasc, hope this works with no problems
View 2 RepliesPenis :: Purple Patch On Glans
I'm 16 (almost 17) and have been able to masturbate for the past 3-4 months now, yes I'm a late bloomer. My penis hasn't changed significantly in size or shape however I am worried because over the past couple of weeks (2-3, maybe even longer) I have noticed a patch which is grey/purple in colour on the glans (?) and it has actually been getting larger. There are also a couple of bumps on it. (Note: needless to say, I haven't yet had sex.)
Is this normal and just a part of the penis growing, or is it something I should be worried about as much as I am at the moment? I would really appreciate reassurance because I'm worried about what this could be as I don't know what may have caused it. The only thing I can think of is that as I have masturbated and used a tissue, the tissue has removed moisture and caused this.
Should I not masturbate to see if it goes away? Is it something serious or should I just leave it?
Shingles? Red Patch On My Back - Chest Pain
After a short flight I started experiencing sharp pains in my right chest..... 5 days later was at outpatients where they tested for everything cardiac and pulmonary..... Was sent to family Dr who asked if I had a rash anywhere and my husband said yes as he noticed a red patch on My back while doing up my hospital gown. I had been a bit itchy in that spot... Anyhow I do not have any pain at rash site just the severe pain in my chest. Dr says the pain can present along any nerve.... Has anyone ever had shingles symptoms like this ?

Recently I decided to remove nail polish from my toes that I've had on for a few months. When I removed this nail polish all the nails were completely normal, except my big toe on my left foot had a black or dark brown "patch" on it.

Go to the URL above if the picture doesn't work to see my toe.
If anyone could help answer what this is, it would mean the world. I'm really worried and I'm not sure what it is...if it is cancer, a bruise or a fungal infection, etc.....there are so many possibilities and I'd really love an answer! It doesn't hurt if I press on it, but I am still worried.
BTW I did go on a camp where I hiked for hours and hours and my toes (not just my big toe) hurt when I pressed on them for a couple days after but it went away quickly - this was a few months ago. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with what has happened but yeah...
So - if anyone could give me a name of what I have and how I can treat it, it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again!
Recurring Shingles :: Small Patch On My Forehead Pain Radiates Down On Face
I am 40 years old and have been suffering from recurring shingles since I was 25. They are always a small patch on my forehead and the pain radiates down one side of my face. The nerve pain lingers for several weeks and sometimes months after the blisters are healed. I have been told the vaccine is only given to individuals over 50 and I have also been told that since I get shingles frequently the vaccine would not help me.
I typically get them several times a year and the sun is the worst trigger for me. Since I get them on my forehead it is a bit difficult to prevent.
Foot / Ankle :: Arthroscopic Debridement And Lateral Ankle Reconstruction
I am just writing with the hope of getting some more help/assurance re the Gould brostrom (or as my letter has now pointed out Arthroscopic debridement and lateral ankle reconstruction - unsure if this is the same of different?) procedure which I am due to have in just over 2 weeks on the 22nd June.
I have been very unsure for a while now as to whether or not to go ahead with it but have decided to take the plunge, however I still have my doubts!
I injured my ankle initially around 5 years ago (ruptured ATFL showed up in MRI scan) and almost had the surgery back then, only to decide not to go ahead with it. Since then I have rolled over and sprained it on multiple occasions, and have felt it become increasingly weak to the point where I have very little confidence in its strength. When playing football I now wear lace up supports, which are strong enough to prevent the rolling, but obviously doesnt deal with the root cause and there is a still a feeling of achiness and limited movement. When not wearing my ankle supports I would say its at least a 50/50 chance I'm going to roll over on my ankle every time.
I can still run and go about my everyday life virtually without any issues (feel twinges but nothing major unless recently sprained) and the views of the consultants varied from the cautious 'maybe only have it if you're playing high level sport' ( which I'm not but just play football weekly for my local team), to saying yes I go for it as its clearly getting weaker and weaker and becoming more of a frustration.
I guess alongside asking for advice as to what to expect post op, I am also seeking assurance that by going ahead I am making the right decision (bearing in mind surgery is considered last resort and rehab process is lengthy).
Orthopedics :: Medial Ankle Pain 6 Weeks After Ankle Sprain
I'm a 42 year old female. Six weeks ago I was climbing ropes at the gym and dropped down from 4-6 feet onto a piece of excess rope resting on the ground. My ankle rolled and pain and swelling occurred immediately. Being a stubborn woman, I walked it off until the swelling started spilling over my shoe.
Got an X-ray from the orthopedic who said nothing was broken.
I was on crutches for 2 weeks and still in an air cast boot when I'm on uneven ground or working out. My workouts are modified (rowing, 12" box steps, shoulder work, cleans)and ankle swells 4x the size afterwards.
My current problem/question is this: Saturday I walked without the book (tennis shoes) on a flat surface and was very careful not to twist/turn or injure the ankle. Of course, it swelled 4x the size, as it always does each afternoon.
However, pain woke me up in the middle of the night/early the next morning. I couldn't put any weight on the foot and experienced severe pain over my medial ankle bone. It was extremely tender to the touch and any movement caused sharp pain.
One day later, it's sore but the severe pain is gone.
Foot / Ankle :: Nerve Pain In Heel/toe After Ankle Surgery
I had ankle surgery to repair my medial malleolus back on May 8. It was fairly routine--just 2 screws. I was in a cast for a week, then was put into a boot but told to treat it like a cast--NO weight bearing for 7 weeks, keep the boot on 24/7 unless in the bathtub. I followed directions religiously.
I did notice that when I pressed on certain areas of the foot, I would feel a sharp pain. This occurred in the heel (from the bottom), toes (again, from the bottom, primarily the foot pad below the pinky, second, and 4th toes). When I asked the doctor about this, he said (around week 5) that it was just because I hadn't been using the foot.
The problem persisted, and this week, week 7, I was cleared to start partial weight-bearing--walking in the boot while taking approximately 1/2 the weight off my foot via the crutches. I don't have ankle pain to speak of (or at least, not often and only if I overdo it), but I have terrible shooting pains in my heel and toes as I step. It's OK if I take most of the weight on the crutches, but as soon as I go to more than just a little weight on the boot, the pain starts.
This week I also started PT and the therapist told me this is nerve pain--not uncommon after surgery (don't know why the doctor couldn't have told me this, but OK). I couldn't get much of an idea from her how long this will persist or if there is anything I can do about it.
I'm doing my ankle and leg exercises (those are mostly non-weightbearing at this point) and they are going great. The ankle is clearly healing well. But I don't see how I can progress to full weight bearing (supposed to try that next week!) when much more than a little pressure on the foot results in this nerve pain!
Help! Does anyone have experience with this? Is there anything I can do to speed things along? I need to return to my second job (barefoot hoof trimming for horses--how I broke the ankle!) ASAP and I'm fearful this will slow my progress to a crawl! The doctor is useless.
