Clicking And Pain In My Left Ring Finger. NOT Trigger Finger?

I am 18 and back in May I guess I "jammed" my finger. I say I guess because I really don't know WHAT exactly happened. My two dogs got into a little fit and when I was separating the two of them I don't know what I did, but I really messed up my finger. After it all happened my hand hurt REALLY REALLY bad. It also started swelling pretty much immediately. I waited a couple days and then went to the ER because I figured maybe I dislocated my finger or something. They did an X-ray and came back and said there was nothing wrong, and probably a sprain so they sent me home with an ace bandage and some ibuprofen. Fast forward to now.

The swelling in my hand has gone away after about two months of not moving it a lot and keeping it wrapped up. But each time I completely straighten (like I am stretching my hand) out, my ring finger makes a clicking noise and kind of pops up. Moving it certain ways, making a fist, putting pressure, pulling, or grasping something wrong hurts extremely bad. I can feel it move down at the base of my finger (like my last knuckle). It has caused a problem for me because it hurts with most normal things that I do. Even typing this is irritating.

So I finally went to an orthopedic and he looked at my hand and X-rays and said he isn't sure what it is and he recommends me to see a hand surgeon.

I did. I drove almost 2 hours each way to see this doctor and here's what happened in a span of 3 different visits.

He suspected trigger finger even though he said certain symptoms were odd. He gave me a cortisone injection into my left ring finger and OMG that was painful. But to be honest that pain from the swelling of the injection was about as bad as my hand felt right after it happened. But sadly that didn't help. So my doctor sent me to get an MRI. With the results of the MRI, he told me that he saw swelling in my finger and that he thinks is in the sheath but said he doesn't know what is causing that. So he told me he was stumped and should see someone who is more of a specialist and gave me a few names. None of them take my insurance.

So I decided to put all of my info out here and see if someone has had something similar happen or knows what might be going on with my finger.

I will also post below the "findings" on my MRI report.

"There is a focus of marrow edema involving the dorsal aspect at the base of proximal phalanx fourth digit and adjacent dorsal aspect head of fourth metacarpal with a focal small cortical invagination of the metacarpal which may be post traumatic in etiology from previous impaction. No discrete fracture or dislocation is appreciated at the fourth digit IP joints pr MCP joint. The flexor and extensor mechanisms and tendons appear intact. No significant sized joint effusions. No significant degenerative or arthritic bony changes are appreciated. Visualized musculature has normal signal. Subcutaneous tissues are intact."

Fibromyalgia :: Swollen Ring Finger At The Joint

I know there are numerous symptoms to Fibromyalgia which could be associated with other autoimmune disorders which leads to my problem. I went to the doctor last monday with a swollen ring finger at the joint. I also told him that I was exhausted a lot and getting dizzy spells daily. He tested me for lupus and RA, both coming back normal. He also had a x-ray taken of my finger which showed no fracture or injury. My finger is still swollen after 5 days of naproxen twice a day, still exhausted and still having dizzy spells daily. On top of that, my legs are now aching especially when I climb the stairs which never used to happen. The pain is bad enough that I have to stop for a bit until the pain subsides a little. I'm also starting to have hip pains as well as stiffness in many areas of my body. So, with that said, I was wondering if swelling is a common symptom of fibromyalgia and if so, any suggestions other than ice, heat and naproxen and ibuprofen??? I can't get my wedding ring off and I really don't want to cut it off (the ring, not my finger, hahaha).

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome :: Numbness + Pain In Ring Finger?

I'm 25, and have recently developed symptoms (last 2-3 months). I had some mild sore wrists before but over the last few month it progressed to numbness in both hands. I did some physiotherapy and stretching and it did actually improve a bit but then my left ring finger began to develop pain and severe numbness, enough to stop me from typing with my left hand. I ice it several times a day which is keeping it at bay but doesn't do anything for the numbness.

Any comments or advice? I'm on a 1 month wait for an EMG specialist. The only thing that makes the numbness better is bending my wrist into a flexed position and holding it there for a few seconds.

Vascular Disorders :: Left Thigh Feels Cold/semi-numb As If The Veins Are Blocked

History:

A month earlier I fell off my motor-bike. For almost three days my leg was fine.

Symptoms:

- I started having that cold/semi-numb feeling in my left thigh as if the veins are blocked

- When I lift heavy object or jog for 15 minutes the left leg can't hold my weight

- I feel a little better while standing

- I also sometimes feel a sharp pinch in thigh muscle and hip

I'm pretty sure I don't have broken bones.

What could have gone wrong?

STD :: Small Lump On Inside Of Labia

i have recently been worried because i have found a small red lump on the inside of my labia minora or whatever it's called... i'm worried it might be herpes but i've never had sex or done anything remotely sexual (im 14 lol) so does anybody know what it is? It disappears sometimes then reappears... i'm not going to post a picture because umm that would be weird but yeah. I've googled it and it says that it could be herpes but in all the things i've read, people who have got it have had sex so can someone help because i'm kind of scared that in the future it may affect me if you know what i mean...

Small Boil On The Inside Of My Nose Led To Sarcoidosis

Well I had a small boil on the inside of my nose for months and it just wouldn't go away. I visited my NHS Dr who prescribed some cream, nothing happened - he advised to continue using it and suggested perhaps getting it cut off. Anyway I visited the Dr at work who advised getting it cut off which I thought would be end of it. But to my dismay they did a biospy on it and found out it was Sarcoidosis. My mum has this so I was aware of it. I was devasted. This followed with CT scans, lung test, blood test which confirmed Sarcoidosis on the lungs and enlarged nymph nodes. After a long consultation it was decided not to treat it yet as I had no other systems. But a couple of months later I developed a cough, two months later I am still coughing and on exertion (netball albiet quite a bit of running around) I end up having a sort of ashtma attack. Anyway to cut a long story short this is all related and have been prescribed steriods and some other stuff to counteract the side effects. I am really reluctant to take them but after reading the different views on this site with all the different effect I feel I should start taking them (waiting for the NHS to reluctantly prescribe them) before it gets worse. I am wondering now if I have had this for ages as the symptoms of tiredness, aching neck and shoulders I have always had but just thought it was me. My mum was diagnosed 20 years or so ago and it has only just flared up again but in the bones of her ankle. She has trouble breathing which they have said is asthma...

HPV Or Herpes :: Small Bumps On The Inside Part Of My Labia Majora?

I am 25 years old, married and 3 months pregnant. In august of this past year I had a Pap smear that came out fine and normal. I then noticed these two small bumps on the inside part of my labia majora. They are not next to each other or in a cluster. When I pull the lab is outwards, it seems they are on the same row as little pores. The two bumps are flat, one is a little darker in color and the other is the color of my skin. They are both flat, do not hurt, soft to touch, but one sometimes gets "swollen" and resembles a skin tag. These have not spread anywhere, my husband does not have any, and two weeks ago I had another normal Pap smear. Is it possible these are HPV?

Hip Replacement :: First Fall

There was some water on the tiles in the bathroom, I didn't see it, and I have slipped and fallen, not very badly, but my operated leg skidded from underneath me, and a horrible pain shot through my hip. I am fine I think, shaky but fine. I know I haven't dislocated my hip, as I can still stand on it and walk, but the whole hip area is very painful, as well as my lower calf area. My groin especially feels bad why would that hurt so much? I feel quite shocked too...I was dreading this moment, which must come at some point to most of us.

I think my hip is okay in the sense there is no serious injury, even if it is really hurting, I know others have fallen too, how bad was the pain? And do I still need to get it checked by a dr? What can I do to ease the pain? Any suggestions. Any reassurance that I haven't damaged anything would be good, I am limping very badly when I walk.

My Fiance Is Depressed - Fall Out / Loss Of Love

My fiance is depressed.  It is my belief that he has battled depression his entire life but has been in denial of it until recently.  We have been on and off again for 3 years.  While we are together, we experience about a month of good times and then many months of struggle where he seems to get "lost."  This has, of course, triggered my own feelings of abandonment and loss.  I  have been working intensely with my therapist to overcome these feelings for myself.  While we are apart it seems to me that he begins to think more clearly and is able to return to our love.  We have done this cycle twice.  Each time we get closer, he does something to pull us apart and I react in a way that he hates and finds overwhelming. This time I am determined to use all that I have learned in therapy and have been applying it to our relationship and our relationship has been significantly better.

We got engaged in early May and were set to be married in August.  One week after getting engaged my SO went on a business trip to the Philippines.  He looked up brothels and went to one.  When I confronted him about this he said he did not tell me because he was ashamed but that he did not do anything.  That he proposed and needed to "draw a line" and needed to be certain he can "walk away."  When he got there he realized he wasn't interested and left.  His remorse and clarity from this, as well as his connection and vulnerability with me during this time made me feel certain that it was less about me and more about him.  We got over it. ( I should mention that he was previously married and has had a history of infidelity.)

One month after that he went on another business trip.  Of course my anxiety was heightened and he reassured me that everything will be ok.  Needless to say, it wasn't.  Supposedly a man in the conference he attended almost died and had to be rushed to the hospital.  This triggered his fear of death and he began to drink heavily.  I then called his hotel room at 3am just to have a woman answer.  The next day he told me they had just gotten there and nothing happened she left right away.  He was beside himself.  He was saying things along the line of "just give me a gun", "just get away from me, I'm no good for you," "it's over, how can I ever look at you again knowing what I've done to you."

He came home and we talked about it and again his remorse and vulnerability helped me feel connected to him and my therapist helped me understand that I was not to blame.  As we worked it out he came to me, hugged me, and said "Thank you for being so good to me.  I will be good to you."  Many good things came of it, he stopped drinking and has begun to see his own therapist.

We were good for a few days then he began to withdraw.  Again, anxiety heightened.  I fought for him to open up to me but he couldn't.  He continued to tell me that it is not my fault but that he no longer feels the certainty of our relationship.  As this is the case, he has called off our wedding (to happen today) and has completely withdrawn from me.  He has told me he feels depressed and is unable to return to me.  He also told me that the more I talk about it, "it doesn't help" and "pushes" him away more.  Yet, I am a person with feelings too and I am deeply hurt by all that has gone on.  More so, the lack of connection has begun to intensify the feelings from the two previous events.  As if I am feeling them over again and cannot find a reason to work through them.

I can assume that when I put these things out there and I show how hurt I am he has many feelings including inadequacy and pain that he has hurt me.  I can also assume that his depression, not me, is to blame for the initial withdrawal and that perhaps therapy and alcohol withdrawal have caused many feelings he has suppressed over the years to come up.  It's all rational in my head and all makes sense until it's not and my feelings take over.  I am trying to stop myself from becoming too hurt and facing a depression fallout.

I love him with all my heart but as I sit here and write this I just wonder what will become of us.  Am I strong enough to deal with this?  Will it ever get better?  How many more times does he have to go through these depressive episodes?  How much time is enough?

Zopiclone :: Fall Asleep But ALWAYS Wake Up At Least Once Or Twice During Night

I'm currently taking Zopiclone (7.5mg) and am now on my third consecutive prescription of it having had an initial 7 days (which didn't work), a further 7 days (which worked some of the time) and now have 14 days, which my doctor has told me to "take as and when needed".

The problem is, most of the time they just don't make me sleep. I become drowsy, fall asleep but then ALWAYS wake up at least once or twice during the night, regardless. I end up waking up feeling groggy and fuzzy headed.

Years ago I was prescribed Temazepam followed by amitriptyline, both for insomnia, but neither of those worked either. I think I'm running out of options.

I hadn't realised until very recently that 7.5mg was the higher dose of the tablets (as opposed to 3.75mg), but is it ok to take one and a half or two at night (occasionally) when I'm in desperate need for some proper sleep?

I'm already on Sertraline (100mg) and Propranolol (10mg x 6 per day) so I'm conscious of not being irresponsible with them... But I REALLY need to sleep!
