View 1 RepliesLupus :: Severe Joint Pain And Weakness, Muscle Weakness, Bone Pain
for the past week I had severe joint pain and weakness, muscle weakness, bone pain in extremities ( had a blood test for lupus and RA[ no family history of either] Starting to get a bit better as long as I rest. recently sexually active with one person, now I just noticed feeling swollen like I was getting a UTI ( hurt when I urinate), but noticed it hurt in my vagina not urethra, checked and there are 4 small red bumps in my right labia minora and 1 in my left labia minora-odorless, feels inflamed and hurts now. Is this related to possible lupus or separate problem? I feel exhausted and run down.
View 1 RepliesBone / Joint :: Knee Pain: Ligament Tightness Behind Knee, Slight Knee Pain Under Kneecap
So I dislocated my knee in January of this year. I was given a device that isolates my knee cap and hold it in place. I wore the device off and on over the year whenever my knee would feel sort of irregular. I worked out routinely to help strengthen my knee, it helped the pain somewhat, but mostly just made me feel better about the way I looked, and kept me healthy. I haven't worked out since some time before Thanksgiving. Starting this week i've started to feel this new akward feeling behind my kneecap, sort of like the ligament behind my knee cap is tightening, sort of similar to how it felt when I dislocated my knee, but not exactly the same. I get the pain after fully bending my knee, for example when I am on my knees doing my job stocking shelves at work, when I stand to my feet I can usually feel the pain. I try doing a couple of different stretches when to make the feeling go away a bit, but it comes back, and then it eventually goes away again.
My knee "pops" (makes a loud popping noise and pressure) pretty regularly now but when I get off of work and off of my knees I experience the discomfort much less. I want to start exercising again on Monday, but I am scared I might dislocate again. I will try using the knee cap device again tomorrow, but I feel as though whenever I use the device, it makes my knee feel like jello the next day, and make me want to use the device again, even though I was advised by my doctor that I should not need to use it regularly. ....
Deep Vein Thrombosis :: Nagging And Annoying Slightly Painful Weakness In The Knee
i have a had a behind the knee DVT (4 weeks) diagnosed by Doppler scan, started heparin and now warfarin, swelling and pain has subsided quickly but I still have a nagging and annoying slightly painful weakness in the knee, annoying when out straight and weak when turning, it just doesn't feel like in used to, is this normal this early on and will it be staying?
i was lucky, D-DImer was 378, the nurse wasn't going to send me for a scan as I didn't fit all the symptoms on the day of referral but she said something was nagging at her about it, I think all the photos of my swollen calf swayed it.

View 3 RepliesGeneral :: Unexplained Muscle Pain And Weakness And Fatigue
About 10 days ago, I began to feel little prickly feelings, like a light needle poke, in random places on my body. I was a little concerned but figured it would go away. After a day or 2, I began experiencing a little muscle cramp in my left and right legs but my cholesterol and blood had just been checked so I called my doctor's office to find out if it might be a blood clot. They told me there were no blockages (they had just done a routine cholesterol test on me about a week before). Another day went by then my muscles began to get sore and my joints were popping sometimes. My muscles in my legs, arms (mildly), around my ribs (sometimes) and my under arms (sometimes) felt sore. I used a heated massaging pillow to make them feel better but was perplexed as to why I was having these aches. Sometimes I felt an arthritic ache also like the pain might have been in my bones. I was also having mild dull headaches. Then came a day when I felt extremely fatigued and so after a couple of days I went to the doctor. She said she was thinking I might have anemia so she had me go to the hospital and get a CBC test, a CPK test and to have my thyroid tested (I have hypothyroidism which I take medication for). The day I had my blood work done (yesterday) I felt very fatigued and was asleep by 9:00 pm, which is very unusual for me. I didn't feel muscle pain just weakness sort of. Today I feel a little muscle pain but not much, but I do feel a little weak. Also I had been having panic attacks a few times during all of this. I called the doctor's office today and the nursing staff told me the results of the blood tests from yesterday morning were all normal. I had thought it could be anemia which at least then I would have a diagnosis and could be treated but now I am even more scared because I don't know. What could this be?

View 3 RepliesHypophosphatemia And Oncogenic Osteomalacia :: Muscle Pain And Weakness
My condition, hypophosphatemia and oncogenic osteomalacia started about 3 years ago, however, was not diagnosed until six months ago. It started very gradually with body stiffness that over time worsened to bone and muscle pain and weakness. Was examined by all kinds of specialists who really didn't know why I had so much pain just walking, sitting and getting in and out of bed. My Rheumatologist had been very puzzled by some of my blood test results concerning alkaline phosphates being 3 times as high as they should be. Vitamin D testing showed I was severely deficient. Subsequent examination, blood tests and bone biopsy by an Endocrinologist indicated oncogenic osteomalacia and hypophosphatemia being caused by a tumour somewhere in my body. The tumour gives off something that causes my Vitamin D and phosphates to become deficient in turn causing the bone pain and muscle weakness. Subsequent CT scans and PET scan have not located the tumour. Am taking medications that are helping somewhat. Want to communicate with someone who has this condition or recovered from it. Have questions about medications, rehabilitation and generally knowing about their experience.

View 39 RepliesTorn My Meniscus Twice In My Right Knee - Pain?
I have torn my meniscus twice in my right knee. The most recent tear was a little over a month ago. I had surgery, but my knee still hurts. Several years ago I slipped and fell. I went to the doc and without tuning any test he told me it was a bad sprain. I went back once a month for 6 months and told me the same thing. I kept going back because my ankle never got any better. The swelling never went down. After 6 months it stopped hurting. Now it pops every time I move it. I went to a new doc about it and after running some tests he informed me that I had torn everything in my ankle. However, it had healed already. It heal wrong, but it had healed. Could my ankle problems be apart of my knee problems? My ankle doesn't hurt. It just pops all the time. My wife calls it Rice Krispy cause she says it snap crackle and pop all the time.
View 3 RepliesPain After Partial Knee Replacement
I had a partial knee replacement 8 weeks ago n the medial side. The first month or so pain was tolerable, I figured it was healing pain. Since then the pain has become increasingly worse. I had talk to the doc twice and was told that if it does not look infected not to worry pain is a normal part of recovery. My next follow up is this week. I still go to pt 3 x week, they say it is healing great looks great and pain is normal. So my question is how much pain is normal. I feel like it is pinching below and to the side of the replacement. Today my knee completely gave away and scared me. Has any experienced this and does it sound normal.

View 1 RepliesCan't Straighten Leg In Morning Due To Extreme Pain On Knee Top
Starting about a year ago, sometimes when I wake up in the morning my leg is bent and it causes extreme pain at the top of my knee to straighten it. It generally takes several minutes for me to straighten it out. But once I get it straight I can bend it again and straighten it again with no pain or stiffness. I sleep on my stomach so I always thought it was blood loss in my knee from sleeping at an odd angle. But i have injured my knee before (strained) and arthritis does run in the family. It only happens with the one knee. Is this something I should see a doctor about?
