Vertigo / Dizziness :: Dizzy Spells, Then Tinnitus
Last year during a 3 month period I had a few specific dizzy spells one where I had to lean on a wall for support. All lasted less than a minute. I also experienced mild hangover feeling in the morning usually clearing by lunchtime. Then it all went away until July this year when after getting up I frequently have mild travel sickness feeling which mostly clears by midday. No specific dizzy spells yet only feint background dizzy with the other symptoms. I went for a hearing test but ears blocked so went through a clearing period and another test which concluded hearing is GOOD. Then Tinnitus started and now it is constant 8Khz both ears but morning problems still carry on as normal. Dr. gave me series of medicines presumably suspected inner ear infection but did not work.

After a few months of feeling dizzy and wobbly, (I'm thinking mine started after this horrid virus going around) I read that ginger tea is very good, I started drinking it about 1 week ago and can honestly say the symptoms have improved.. I also use peppermint and lavender oil behind the ears.. Just thought I would share this, as so many people suffering at the moment.. Definitely helping and feel much better now.. It's worth a go

For 3 days now, I have been experiencing spells where I feel like the floor suddenly drops, like I'm on a lift. They only last for a second but make me feel very unbalanced and confused. Nothing triggers them, they can happen when I am doing the most simple activity. The only cause I have found on the internet is anxiety, but I have not had any other symptoms and do not feel anxious at all or have a reason to be. Does anyone know why I could be feeling like this?

I've been suffering from brief and extremely intense dizzy spells for about the last six months now, which are becoming more and more frequent. During a dizzy spell, my ears feel very full, my eyes stop focusing/text becomes very blurry, and I can't move without losing balance. Triggering factors include:Eating (usually a severe spell after every meal) Drinking cold water Listening to the radio/watching TV (my job requires that I do this all day) turning my head or changing position quickly music or concerts (I am also a professional musician and spend 10-12 hours per week practising or playing gigs) Fluorescent lights Alcohol (I can't drink more than half a pint of beer in an hour, or I get particularly extreme waves of dizziness)
View 1 RepliesVertigo :: Dizzy Spells - When To Worry?
I have been suffering with dizziness for quite a while now, it all started with headaches then I'd get really dizzy, I had a ct scan and all was well however after the birth of my second son in April this year I was laying on the sofa I went to get up and I couldn't focus on anything, I was so dizzy it was unreal, I went to emergency docs who said it was labyrinthitis and prescribed some tablets which didn't really work! Ever since then I have been so dizzy, I have seen ent and they said all is good nothing to worry about but why do I keep feeling like this? I could be sat at home doing nothing and it just comes over me I go all lightheaded and then I start to sweat and panic that I'm going to pass out its horrible, just walking around sometimes I go dizzy and feel all funny I don't know what to do anymore, I've had bloods etc and all normal I just want to know why I feel so terrible all the time.

My son has been having dizzy spells for the last year or so. He has had lots of tests at the hospital but nothing appears to be coming back with anything. He's had thorough eye tested as well. He can have anything from 10 a day to nothing a day. It's all a bit strange. These episodes last for just a few seconds and nothing else much happens. He says he's dizzy but after discussion he described it as blurry eyes and it's like a picture is jumping around. Any ideas what this could be as they are getting more frequent and concerning for me? He can have them whilst sitting and also when walking. Nothing is consistent when they happen.
View 11 RepliesVertigo / Dizziness :: Lightheaded Spells, Tingling In Arms And Feet
For the last month I've been getting occasional lightheaded spells - I think that's the best way to describe it, not feeling like I'm going to faint but just my eyes feeling odd and feeling sort of weak. I've also noticed more recently a strange tingling sensation down my arms and feet that comes on quickly and goes quickly but is getting more and more frequent.
A couple of things I've thought it could be related to - I've been coming off a very low dosage of sertraline (antidepressant) that I was on since early January this year (so not long) have been doing it gradually, one every other day for around 2 weeks and then stopped. I feel fine in terms of happiness, the depression is definitely under control, but have thought it could be causing these funny spells. But I don't know why it would be going on for so long?
Another thing is, I'm not sure if it's just coincidence, but I'm sure it's been worse on/after nights when I've been drinking alcohol. I don't have much evidence of this as I don't drink a lot but the last couple of times I have it's seemed to be worse the next day as well as on the evening I've been drinking, like when I've been on my way home and got home more than actually when I've been out. Although maybe this is just as I'm tired and it's making whatever the problem is worse?
I'm living abroad temporarily so am not signed up to a doctor, have travel insurance but think it may be an issue claiming if it is something to do with the depression, as I stupidly forgot to mention it when buying the insurance and being asked about existing medical problems (it just didn't come to mind to put it and I've never had to answer yes to that question before!) So I want to avoid unnecessary doctor visits if it is just some kind of withdrawal from the tablets.
Iron Deficiency Anemia Night Nose Bleeds
I think I may have iron deficiency anemia my mom had it when she was younger and I have really bad nose bleeds in the middle of the night I have also fainted and I don't want to go to the doctor. Just wondering how dangerous could it be?
View 2 RepliesVertigo / Dizziness :: Unbalanced Feet - Dizziness While Walking And Standing
I have dizziness everyday while walking, standing as well as feeling off balance, unsteady on my feet like I am gonna fall over. I have had my ears checked by an ENT doctor in 2014 and he said I had meniere's disease so he treated it as that but medicine didn't help so went to another ENT doctor in 2015 who said I don't have meniere's disease but have hearing loss in both ears and did a test on my vestibular function which he said was normal so he referred me to a neurologist and I went and had an MRI done which was normal as well. I have had blood work done in November last year and my white blood count was a little high but not concerning and everything else was normal....no diabetes. Also had a stress test done on heart and was normal. I am at my wits end with this cause I don't know what's going on. I plan to see an eye doctor soon. Oh and I was diagnosed with anxiety 4 months ago but this dizziness and off balance feeling has been going on for 2 years now. I am on blood pressure medicine too. don't know what else to do. Does anyone have these same symptoms ?

Whenever I stand up after sitting for a few hours, I feel extremely dizzy and sometimes my vision just kinda black out and become blur for at least a few seconds. I know this is common if you have been sitting for too long. But I have it very frequently, at least 2-3 times a day. I don't used to have this last time even if I sat down for quite a long period.
I have been eating well and sleeping well. My blood pressure measures 92/62 which I suppose is in the healthy zone. My family and boyfriend said I have lost weight, but I still look the same
Anxiety :: Dizzy Spells
I was wondering if anyone else suffers from dizzy spells? I was sat down in work yesterday (I work in a bank so I stare at a screen all day) and I just couldn't look at the screen for long periods of time it made me feel quite dizzy but when I walked I was okay, was wondering if anyone else also feels like their anxiety never goes away like it feels as though there is something always there, whether it's feeling sick having a panic attack or just a feeling of unease

I have just started taking mirtazapine 15mg to help with stress and anxiety at work. The first few days were spent feeling very tired and spaced out but then not much of a side effect. However I have tried to work out a few times to help with the stress and each time have become very dizzy, headaches and nearly to the point of passing out (I'm not exactly a gym bunny but am used to working out and running 5k relatively easily- today I could only manage 3k!)
View 3 RepliesHyperthyroidism :: Dizzy Spells And Lightheaded
I first posted on here 3/4 weeks ago after blood tests showed I had an overactive thyroid. The doctor think it`s Graves as I have some eye problems too. These forums have been a great source of information and helped me get through those 1st weeks.
However I`m a bit concerned because for the past 3 days I've been lightheaded. This comes in spells, so maybe a better description is `dizzy spells.` I saw the duty GP yesterday who told me to stop the beta blockers (bisoprolol) and that helped as I wasn't too bad last evening (after I usually take the bisoprolol), but today the dizziness has come back, but not as bad as its been over the weekend. I`m wondering are dizzy spells another hyperthyroid symptom.
I still haven`t gotten my blood levels from my doctor - all he told me is that I was extremely hyperthyroid- and yesterdays GP told me that my levels are getting better. At one point the GP looked my symptoms up in a handbook - so as you can see this doesn`t give me much confidence with my local doctors. I`m due to see the endo team in 2 weeks time and hoping to get more answers then.
